Myrkgrav is one man project. Lars Jensen is only one member who plays and sings. This is first Myrkgrav song who I heard, all songs are the best. Respect from Polish.
@norradans The lyrics in this song is a dialect from where Lars Jensen was born, so it's a dialect from Ringerike in Norway, but the song itself is taken from Danish folklore.
+presiwwe1 If you don't have Å like"skål" on your keyboard. The old Norwegian language had a double A instead, like this "skaal" wich can sort of replace the Å. However, if we go even further back, we used the word "Skold" or "skald" (wich means skull). The old Viking ways was that you would use the skull of the enemy as a drinking cup, and they would say "Skold" when rising their drinks" Feel free to correct me if this is a myth people. But i heard this when traveling around one summer to some of the Norwegian Viking or Middle age festivals :)
Love your name Ritchie Blackmre's is IMO one of the best Guitarists in music history. I also am a great fan of Myrkgrav and I love this song! All Hail Lars Jensen!!
Shows that nordic folk songs are great for this kind of music ;) ... reminds me of Týr's "Konning Hans" and "Turid Torkilsdottir" (though I am not sure if the latter is a folk song or an original Týr production).
+ArchaicWisdom Its kind of mystic aswell. I like the gap, it fits in my playlist right in the middle, i won't even notice it untill the music returns when i'm playing games or something like that :D
@Linusmetal666 This is not black metal, this is folk metal. If you want some kick ass Norwegian black metal, I suggest Darkthrone, Burzum, Mayhem, Carpathian Forest and Satyricon. (My apologies for missing all the other great bands, but couldn't make such a long list of bands here on youtube.
"The Two Musicians" There was a lady who lived by Kjerraten "Father is a summer swan" Two beautiful daughters had she "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
For the youngest, suitors came every day "Father is a summer swan" The oldest could not stand this "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
The youngest stepped out on a wide bridge "Father is a summer swan" The oldest followed in false tracks "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
"Sister, sister help me ashore!" "Father is a summer swan" "Then I will give you my golden hair pin!" "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
"No, I won't help you ashore" "Father is a summer swan" "Not until you give me your fiancé" "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
"No, before I give you my fiancé!" "Father is a summer swan" "I'd rather go under the blue waves!" "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
And there came horrid weather and western wind "Father is a summer swan" And washed the body up onto the sand "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
Two musicians entered "Father is a summer swan" They saw the corpse laying on the shore "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
"Come, let us go to the great farm" "Father is a summer swan" "There where the great wedding will be" "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
They played for the first time "Father is a summer swan" "Our bride has drowned her sister" "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
The bride took a golden band off her arm "Father is a summer swan" She gave it to the musicians "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
"We stand here just a couple of drunkards" "Father is a summer swan" "So none should believe our words" "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
But when they played the third time "Father is a summer swan" The bride started crying "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
That evening she was standing on the wedding floor "Father is a summer swan" Next morning she was laying burnt on a bed of coals "They're awaiting, waiting, welcome home again"
What the hell, i guess your joking becouse Lars Jensen says he has nothing to do with politics. Read the lyrics its about Scandinavian Folklore and Norwegian stories.
Its not a danish folk song. + song is in norwegian. Otherwise thx for sharing Edit: woot it actually is danish, and im from the region its based on wtf. I just hadnt heard of it. Sorry for doubting u
well the language sung here is norwegian. And the original is in danish as far as ive seen, and starts with: "der boede en frue ved Holstebro, fatera sommersvane" where this version has changed holstebro to Kjeratten or something? (not sure what hte word means either)
This song has some of the best vocal elements within metal. It goes from the clean, beautiful vocals to the black metal-ish growls. Love it.
Detta är kärlek för mina öron. Fan vilka härliga melodier!

Sangen her er den beste!
Дуже крута пісня!! Дякую з України)
Did anyone disagree with that? ;) But we shall not forget that the lyric is from the beggining a traditional Danish folk song.
Vær hilset fra Danmark min bror fra norden! Må høre noget mere af det her! :)
Er du i live
awesome, this band is composed of 1 people !!!!!!
Why is the track silent from 2:50 forward? It makes this song very inconvenient to keep on a playlist.
Please, edit this upload.
+ArchaicWisdom Its kind of mystic aswell. I like the gap, it fits in my playlist right in the middle, i won't even notice it untill the music returns when i'm playing games or something like that :D
Back in early youtube days it was a way to avoid copyright claims

sant, men sangen er faktisk en dansk folkesang :P Men du har rett i norsk BM ;)
It definetly sounds Norwegian, they sound like they come from "Stavanger" or something :D
+Kristian Thorsen It's a one man band.
Han er fra Ringerike
what's it about tho?
Kan du ikke høre at dette er norsk? Skam for Skandinavia.
Can someone translate the lyrics?
