Hmmm. This segment takes me back to a previous segment where you were painting a hypothetical scenario of a bidding war breaking out if the Cowboys let Dak play out the season with no new contract. I pointed out, if you recall, that if he has a stinker of a season, no one is going to offer him 70 million dollars- the wild number you threw out there. Seeing what we see now, hypothetically, how much would Dak command in the open market for what occurred on the field this year? That ain't no beard scratcher. Jerry caved at the 11th hour instead of sticking to his thinking of the first hour. Could have let him walk or signed him for way less than 60 mil. History should have told him that.
My argument would be that when we had a good offensive line Dak didn’t get injured and he also holds or is about to pass all of the passing records for the team

OK, so if you trade for a number one quarterback next year in the draft, why would he want to sit for three years and not play doesn’t make too much sense either
The Packers had Favre, Rodgers, and Love. They also drafted Matt Hasselbeck and Mark Brunell and signed free agent Kurt Warner during that time frame. They were always looking for QBs no matter who was on the roster.
Daks contract is a problem because he is paid the most, yet his ability to be the most productive is probably close to the middle. I don’t want to hear about all his garbage time stats, I don’t want to hear about runner up mvp. His ability to have 13 3 and outs in one game is higher than his ability to be mvp of the league.

Personally I like Dak and coach Mike but I think it's time for a change. Sadly I think we should try to trade him. I'm not sure that coach Prime is the answer
This season is done, so instead of playing Rush, who has limited upside, play Lance the remaining games. Win lose or draw, see if he can get enough reps, to make him a better QB, and have him as Daks backup. Yes, you will probably take a hit on cap space. But if he doesn't show improvement, then let him walk. But to not try and salvage something out of him is crazy. Give him snaps and let him learn, then maybe you can get something out of him, that can help you down the road. If he plays out the rest of the season and falls flat on his face everyday, then you know that its time to cut your losses. Keep in mind, due to the pandemic, Lance had less than 1/3 of the snaps in college that Dak and Rush had. Thats why you need to play the kid and get him experience.
Dak Prescott is a mirror... He'll reflect back to you exactly what your team is (for better or worse) but he won't do anything at all to alter it when it matters. Go Cowboy$$$
If the Cowboys wouldn't have used a 4th round pick to get basically a 6th string receiver from the Panthers, instead given a 6th or 7th round pick. We could have drafted a top O-lineman, WR, D-lineman or LB in first 3 rounds and then got a starting caliber RB in the 4th round. Now, they will have to draft a WR, and RB in first three rounds, or not go WR and go O-line D-line or LB, then a RB in 3rd round, which is a little early. But 5th round likely to late for a starting RB. You can get a change of pace RB later, but not one that is a 3 down back. This WR they traded for, had better be something special or this management needs to have their heads examined.
@tiddiesattic they way his new contract has been arranged, Dak is "The" Cowboys for the next 4 years. If you're going to hate on anybody, Jerry deserves every bit of all your grief.
@Jasper77 nobody is "hating" on anyone.. the simple fact is Dak is a good QB, not a great QB.. he's a streaky player who turns the ball over way too much. He plays tight in big games, especially in January & is incapable of carrying a team to a SB.. I know we could do much worse at QB, but settling for "good enough" is how you end up 12-5 three straight years with nothing to show for it but extending the 30-year drought.. we all know the shortcomings start with Jerry, but they don't end there.. Jerry, the front office & coaches are responsible for who is on the field but the players and only the players are responsible for what happens on the field.. there's plenty of blame/responsibility to go around
This is the Jone's team..😅 What they've done is done..like it or leave it.IF Dakota is as bad as his haters say.....the Jones plan is..build a team around Dak, CeeDee and Micah..build a hellava team Offensively and defensively and Coaches.. it will take about 2yr, then find the replacement for this trio.. That's the all in plan.. or All end plan😅😅
💯 Facts! That’s exactly what Jerry said on 105.3, he said that was the future. Cowboys are keeping the core players. And will develop and draft new players. If a free agent fits their team plans they will sign him.
Dak has a no trade clause because he’s smart. I’m happy for Dak. It’s the upper mgts fault that he doesn’t have a team built around him already. It’s not his fault that the market values a player of his caliber and stats as high as it has. I’m glad he got paid.
@@davidwilliams4498 say whatever you want. The fact is he got paid because he is an upper tier QB. The Cowboys organization has only themselves to blame that they put a subpar team around their QBs for the last 28 yrs. Period.
Let's just all agree if we're over the age of 30, we will not see Dallas in an NFC title game for the rest of our lives, there is a chance they don't have a playoff appearance for at minimum the next 20 years.
If they dont play Lance and see if he can improve with snaps, then they need to draft a QB every year. I'm not saying first round or even in the first two days, but draft one that has potential and see if he can become a starter. Remember Purdy was the last player picked in the draft. You may not hit on QB that way, but you sure won't if you dont draft one every season. In all likelihood, the Cowboys will be ready to drop Dak by the time 2027 rolls around, and they need a QB that can step up. That was how Landry did it, he had Morton, then Staubach took over, then when Staubach left, White was ready to take over. This team struggled when Aikman retired, because they didnt have a QB ready to take over. Luckily when Romo went down in preseason 2916, then Moore broke his leg, they had Dak. Whom they had just drafted in 4th round. They had better start looking for Daks replacement now. Not early rounds but day 3 every season until they find that guy. Remember, Tom Brady was a day 3 pick himself.
I don’t understand why I am considered a Dak Hater because I didn’t think he was not worth 60 million a year.. I like Dak, think he is a great guy and good football player. GOOD Player not great..
If Dak agreed to be traded, even though we have to take dead cap hit, we will still get 1st round pick at least and some other picks…worth it to start over
His cap number next year is almost 90 million. When they flip the switch it goes down significantly but then that money is pushed down the line meaning the 2027 number Fish gave is wrong. That 2027 number works based on the current contract. When the flip is switched the numbers down the line change. Especially with their void years. It’s the same problem they just tried to fix with Dak’s new deal. Cap Boy fixed the mess he created by creating a new mess. Yes they can create 100 million in space. But the still gets accounted for at some point.
If I can have 100 million in cap room with Dak Prescott on the roster I could have more than $120 million with him not on the roster. You can't hide his prorated signing bonus cost or his prorated season cost. By the way the 120 million I would have without him comes without any of the back end debt that the 100 million with him comes with.
MAN FISH YOUR MANY FANS OF YOUR POST 😮 WOW ITS BIZARRE TO SEE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE,HATE ON THIS DAK ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU SEE MANY OTHERS QUARTERBACKS THAT ARE GOING THROUGH OR HAVE GONE THROUGH THIER EBB AND FLOW BEFORE SOME WIN IT ALL. *MAN 2024 AND THIS TYPE OF HATRED STILL HERE.
Honestly dak seems like a nice guy on the other hand his football career an game has diminished mostly due to injuries over the yrs now he can't run dont hit on deep balls don't hit receivers n stride dont get rid of the ball or read the plays an defense fast enough anymore like he use to as a rookie and after that when he had fresh legs and could fling it was more dangerous so considering the obvious his decline here he should probably retire save his body from more pain njoy life after nfl free us of the qb spot 🙏!! Go cowboys 🤠 💙
Dak is coming back rather you haters like it or not. He recovered from a worser injury than a hamstring. I hope and pray for a speedy recovery. He loves the Cowboys and I am behind him 100 percent.
As a person, they're not many better than Dak, but as a QB, he just doesn't have it. Yes, he has put up big numbers in the past, but not really when it counts. I didn't want the big contract to be given to him. Not because he can't play well, but he doesn't play well when it really counts. Not all of the playoff losses were his fault, but several were. Last year it was the defense and Daks slow start. But slow start is all to regular with Dak. Was he worth $60 million per year. That's easy, no he is not worth that. If he would have at least won an NFC title and taken the Cowboys to the Super Bowl, then and only then could you actually justify a big salary. That's another problem that I have with this management. They give out big contracts, and the players don't live up to them. That's going to be Dak after this injury. He will not be the same. Sorry but I'm tired of seeing big contracts go to our players, who never lives up to them. Dak will not live up to his. A major ankle injury, and now this, age will play a big factor, and I don't believe Dak will ever be a top 10 QB again...js
I like Dak, but signing him to a gargantuan contract was never a smart move, and will prove to be an anvil around the team’s ankle into the future. I don’t think any other team in the NFL would have done this deal! Only Jerry. Dak’s on the declining years of mid-round QB play and they paid him like he has had a Mahomes career. Jerry world will rue the day they did this foolish deal.
I would either trade them after June one so that we can spread the money trade them for pics for the future years and not worry about the upcoming draft like you said because we can continue to take and get a good pic or keep him till 2027 like you said so that we don’t lose the money, but we keep him as the highest paid back up, which is what he should’ve been this whole time and then use the tanking season to draft or requireanother quarterback And by the way, if we make them the highest paid back up and he doesn’t like it, he can retire and that solves everything lol
You can eat $90 million and play with a young squad for a while. Trade people that need to be paid like Micah. Denver is eating big time money right now.
Dak is clearly on the decline his mobility is not near what it once was and freaks out in the bigtime games. He's 31 years old and we do need to draft his successor. So we stay relevant for the next 3 to 4 years but what happens when we need the next one? Assuming we make the playoffs during that time span how many years do we have to draft in top 10 or we going to keep on drafting 4th and 6th rounders who can't win the big one. We have not drafted in top 5 since aikman.
After 9 years do you seriously think Dak will get this team to a SB now that attrition and age is catching up to him? The goal is not to remain mediocre which is what you are with Dak
Didn't we go 4-1 without him when the team was good? Over 17 games that's 13-4? Is it that much of a difference? and that was with a backup. What if they had grabbed a real QB?
If they could get anyone to pay his gauranteed salary trade him if not tell him to sit on the sofa and cash the checks. Let's start the rebuild next season.
I think you’re putting too much weight on what the analysts on Fox say, but I would trade him after June one to spread the money out get some stuff for the future and not worry about the draft this season because we can continue to tank and that will solve our draft pick
Love you Mike I don’t think anybody gives a shit at this point
What in Hell was Jerry and crew thinking by giving him that extension 🤦🏾♂️2027 😂 😂😂😂.. Jerry made this mess he needs to clean it up

@LarryHilton-lh2yf When they pay you top dollar to do a job and especially be the highest paid in the NFL you should be able to put your team on your back and put them in a good position to win games but he has hurt them more than help them.
No NFL team is dumb enough to take Dak and that ridiculous contract. Jerry is stuck with his broken down grossly over paid QB.
HE HAS A NO TRADE CLAUSE. PERIOD. AND THE GUARENTEED MONEY IS PROHIBITIVE.
You don’t sign someone to a massive contract then it’s six months thank you again a trade or cut give me a break😅
Trying to make the Dak contract look like a great deal is insane... Bulsh... for breakfast
Jerry got a bad case of FOMO and started worrying about how he would look if Dak went somewhere else and became successful.
Shady McCoy never was the brightest
I’m asking Santa for the Cowboys to have a new owner/GM next year!!! Btw…I don’t believe in Santa Claus so this isn’t going to be a great Christmas! 😢
HE NOT GOING SAY NOTHING AGAINST THE COWBOYS.. HE GOTTA KEEP THAT STAR ACCESS
💯 True! He only has physical access to the building. But no real access to insider information.
My argument would be that when we had a good offensive line Dak didn’t get injured and he also holds or is about to pass all of the passing records for the team
Also if we had a better Oline how many more yards per run would we add to the 4.5 yards that Rico is running for
So basically Cowboys are stuck with a useless Quarterback😣😣😣
Why is it when Dak is the subject, the casuals come out in full force ? 😂😂😂😂😂
Dak conned Jerry for his money so he could care less.
Forget about a trade. Who wants to bet an lose that sny team will pick up daks insane next 4 years contract i can assure anyone that's not gonna happen..best we could hope for an Dak for his sanity is he plays next year an work out a severance with Jerry. If dak holds on all 4 more years for the money he will be hated beyond measure. I would hope dak knows that....
.
Dak doesn't care what people think. I'll bet he believes the only difference between him and Mahomes is luck.
Shady may be a hall of famer now but he sure is a slappy on tv
Listening to him and using game facts and stats..... shady knows what hes talking about. Like it or not he aint lyin
Nah, Shady is absolutely telling it like it is. He's only considered a slappy over here because we have a lot of delusional fans who just can't face reality.
" Your dropping your draws and embarrassing yourself" -Fish 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Derek
Trade dak
Dak will never be the same player again after this injury
He wasn't the same player before the injury
@ 😂
The Cowboys were never the same after the injury of Jerry parting ways with Coach Jimmy Johnson.
@ 😂
The Packers didn't spend a first round pick on a quarterback every year, they had plenty of opertunities to draft weapons.
Trade. Cant win big games. Overpaid, with 2 wildcard wins in 8 years
Dallas needs a total rebuild. They only have a handful of good players. Deion not a good choice.
You're stuck with that deadbeat quarterback that got all the money
Just imagine if Dallas would have waited to sign Dak. He would be cheapppppppplppp now
Should have never ever signed him
Should have traded him & draft a new Qb already!
Hey Fish, I don’t know if you got my message yet but I wanna let you know that everybody know that my cousin Steven Yokum longtime Cowboys fan back from the 70s a few months different than age. He was 52 late last night. He had a massive heart attack and died. My aunt called at 1 o’clock in the morning to let us know he had a really rough time. Do the years had been diabetic kidney had Kidney replacement that was good for 10 years and it went back and was on the waitlist again. Prayers for my cousin Steven. Yokum
My condolences.
@ thank you
Freudian slip- "The Dak Prescott error... i mean era"
Fish "there is no such thing as cap hell"
Also fish "you can't trade him you would be in cap hell"
Attention Mr fisher Idk if you think JJ is gon sit and let you destroy our team from the inside but enough is enough do you expect to trash the franchise with hypotheticals and still have your credentials in the building? You sound more and more like the person who you despise (skip) knock it off.
Jerry jones: do you think I’m an idiot?… we’ll do you?…
With all due respect, WTF does Dak have to do with this bad team and roster? It’s like y’all are literally on autopilot 😅
💯💯 BINGO! This is a clickbait post about Dak.
Yep they expected for dak to draft a running back or make guys become legit receivers then become a blocker and play defense help stop run..what's dumb was to pay him and give him no help...these fools cry about his contact but it's a done deal that they just refuse to accept
Lmao people just don’t know how contracts and cap work. This isn’t even a topic, there’s absolutely ZERO chance a Dak who’s able to stand up straight is not the Cowboys starting QB. The guarantees are INSANE
Even when Dak is healthy he is not good enough period. I DONT CARE ABOUT HIS CAP HIT.
Another great show, FISH! Thanks for breaking that down for us. 👍
Top 5 pick but NO CONFIDENCE they can draft quality. Their drafting talent is severely in question
Watch them fall backassward into position to draft a blue-chip QB and pass because they've got Dak. Idiots.
Not sure we can compare Dak to Brett or Aaron; they both won a SB and Dak has yet to win two playoff games in a row.
The day they hire Sanders is the day I never watch another Cowboy game.
AMEN..!!!
GO COWBOYS GO DAK PRESCOTT GET WELL SOON SPEEDY RECOVERY AND WE NEED A WIN SO PLAY TOGETHER AS A TEAM AND PROTECT YOUR QUARTERS BACK RIGHT NOW COOPER RUSH I HAVE FAITH IN DAK 100 PER CENT AND I'M A DALLAS COWBOY FAN FOR LIFE SO GET WELL SOON DAK PRESCOTT SPEEDY RECOVERY YOU GOT THIS PROTECT YOUR QUARTERS BACK
Not winning with a top dollar quarterback or not winning with a low dollar quarterback I would think cutting the top dollar quarterback and moving on is better
I'm sure you think Cooper rush is better
@@pitlifekennel5445dude, how long have you been alive?! Most of us that have been alive to witness greatness on this team know what greatness looks like. The only thing Dak is great at is beating up on bad teams. This is highly analyzed and indeed factual. I challenge you to look it up for yourself. To sit there and assume that this guy thinks rush is better is asinine and a hasty generalization; not to mention required no intellect in your behalf. Don’t be a slappy. Mr. Scratchy has a very astute observation that is very true. There are qbs in this league that have brought teams closer to the big game than Dak has EVEN SNIFFED! Dak has been provided with numerous stellar o lines, excellent WR talent, and also zeke at his prime. One constant remains… 2-5 in the playoffs. Folds like a lawn chair when the pressure is on. Come on bro. Talk football and stop with attacking comments.
Agreed. How many teams would swap starting QBs with this team, contract included? Not half, not 75%.... I'm guessing 3 - 5 teams. That alone should tell you what you have and how poorly you handled the situation as a front office.
@@Egonzales85 18 of his 37 TD's last season came against team with winning records.
It is not highly analyzed and indeed factual. It is a low depth of thought talking point Dak haters like you repeat over and over again until you're convinced it's true.
When he had Zeke and that o line in their prime he tied the game twice in the 4th quarter vs GB in the playoffs, and every single time the defense allowed GB to take the lead, including the final FG. When he had Zeke in his prime the defense allowed 273 yards rushing to the Rams.
First 5 playoff games: 13 TD, 3 INT, 99.7 passer rating.
You are lying. Nothing you said is remotely true outside a few isolated examples.
@2023 schedule:
Giants 40-0 W giants record 6-11
Jets 30-10 W jets record 7-10
Cardinals L 28-16 cards record 4-13 (Dak can’t beat the cards)
Pats W 38-3 pats record 4-13…
Daks record vs playoff bound teams: 28-34 against teams that are above .500…
Daks record against playoff bound teams 17-32
This is highly analyzed, you probably follow the likes of “Dak attack” “CFT”
And by the looks of it you were probably born in the late 2000’s… figures..
Would you like me to keep going? Cause the data says otherwise poindexter…
Thats why you need to play the kid and get him experience.
even Dak beats jerry in decision making
Dallas will finish 4-13 Hava a high draft yr its time to do something with it because real talk dnt knw wen this will happen again period
The ignorance of our own supposed fans and the hatred for Dak. Smh. Love your show Fish
True.that.
🤦🏼♂️ being a Cowboys fan & being a Dak fan are 2 completely different things
@tiddiesattic I'm still blaming Jerry, all that money he blew on Dak could've went elsewhere, like their pathetic line.
This is the Jone's team..😅 What they've done is done..like it or leave it.IF Dakota is as bad as his haters say.....the Jones plan is..build a team around Dak, CeeDee and Micah..build a hellava team
Offensively and defensively and Coaches.. it will take about 2yr, then find the replacement for this trio..
That's the all in plan.. or All end plan😅😅
💯 Facts! That’s exactly what Jerry said on 105.3, he said that was the future. Cowboys are keeping the core players. And will develop and draft new players. If a free agent fits their team plans they will sign him.
3 more years of Dak! Yay!🎉
I’m not stuck with anyone. Go lions.
Dak has a no trade clause because he’s smart. I’m happy for Dak. It’s the upper mgts fault that he doesn’t have a team built around him already. It’s not his fault that the market values a player of his caliber and stats as high as it has. I’m glad he got paid.
Lol he has never won a division round playoff game..have you seen his 5 playoff losses. With that did he earn the Richest 4 year contract ever.
.
Dak Prescott error?? Freudian slip Fish?? 😂😂
Ima have to disagree with Fiah saying another team wouldve paid a healthy Dak 60 mil a year, not after seeing how bad he played this season.
Thank you
I don’t understand why I am considered a Dak Hater because I didn’t think he was not worth 60 million a year.. I like Dak, think he is a great guy and good football player. GOOD Player not great..
No matter if Dak is on the roster or not the team result will be the same. This almost makes taking the cap hit a none-issue.
The real talk starts next year in March!!!!!!
Ok fish so even if Jerry signed some good players at the beginning of the season along with Henry…where would they be now with DAK out for the season?
Dak is an albatross around the Cowboys neck. We’re not winning a damn thing with this dead bird.
Fisher your version of a great qb and most fans are way off
MAN FISH YOUR MANY FANS OF YOUR POST 😮 WOW ITS BIZARRE TO SEE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE,HATE ON THIS DAK ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU SEE MANY OTHERS QUARTERBACKS THAT ARE GOING THROUGH OR HAVE GONE THROUGH THIER EBB AND FLOW BEFORE SOME WIN IT ALL.
*MAN 2024 AND THIS TYPE OF HATRED STILL HERE.
THIS MAN IS PRIDEFUL
? Who is prideful? ........
Good morning fish 🐠
Dak is coming back rather you haters like it or not. He recovered from a worser injury than a hamstring. I hope and pray for a speedy recovery. He loves the Cowboys and I am behind him 100 percent.
Worser?
@ Yes…or if it makes you feel better worse.
All a waste of time to talk about unless your owner decides to finally participate in top and
end free agents
I would either trade them after June one so that we can spread the money trade them for pics for the future years and not worry about the upcoming draft like you said because we can continue to take and get a good pic or keep him till 2027 like you said so that we don’t lose the money, but we keep him as the highest paid back up, which is what he should’ve been this whole time and then use the tanking season to draft or requireanother quarterback
And by the way, if we make them the highest paid back up and he doesn’t like it, he can retire and that solves everything lol
Omg. Listen to yourself. Fn ridiculous!
Why isnt anybody talking about Tray Lance? What is going on with this player? Will they keep him?
You can eat $90 million and play with a young squad for a while. Trade people that need to be paid like Micah. Denver is eating big time money right now.
I don't know why the contracts don't state if you don't play you're not on the team you don't get paid that shouldn't go against the cop
What about some of these other fools on the roster. We should gain cap money from them being gone instead of dak.
Can we please stop with the trade Dak BS when Dak doesn't play we have very little chance of winning as proven by our record without Dak.
You can draft a new qb
@@eldub422maybe you would be better at qb, 😂😂
Didn't we go 4-1 without him when the team was good? Over 17 games that's 13-4? Is it that much of a difference? and that was with a backup. What if they had grabbed a real QB?
If they could get anyone to pay his gauranteed salary trade him if not tell him to sit on the sofa and cash the checks. Let's start the rebuild next season.
I think you’re putting too much weight on what the analysts on Fox say, but I would trade him after June one to spread the money out get some stuff for the future and not worry about the draft this season because we can continue to tank and that will solve our draft pick
