They really thought this design through when Creature Craft made it. Every rescue team around the country near lowhead dam or doing swiftwater rescue needs one of these. They're virtually unsinkable.

Damn! My heart was racing while they were stuck in the hole! Must have been some adrenaline flowing for them .

A farmer from Alexandra did this rapid in his jet boat. Type in Nevis rapid in a jetboat. A very very cool video.

I was not surprised when this fierce river listened to the "Ahh, on this second run let's just fuckin' run it right down the middle!" To enter such a drop with that sort of attitude is just begging the River Gods to slap you around and knock in some well deserved respect. These rafts are giving their owners an 'inflated' sense of infallibility that they do not deserve. Hubris Respect Especially when massive, river-wide reversals are involved...

+Gyntster I thought the surfing was awesome on their 2nd - it's what makes these boats so much fun!

Someone need to invent a small launchable water "sail" with about 20 -30 feet of cord so you can get dragged free of keeper holes. Even a throwable one would likely work... I used to keep a releasable fanny pack to do that with my kayak back when I did a lot of remote solo runs. (clip a biner to the grab loop and push the kayak out of the hole if I ever had a swim and wasn't releasing). Only did it twice (and yes rope tangling around you is a worry; it's always a game of odds)

I can see why this is good for rescue at dams and for going down class 6 rivers--with much less chance of killing yourself. Of course the ability to do these things in essentially unnavigable water is very cool. The mostly self-righting design improves the general safety in very dangerous conditions.... However, this craft appears pretty big and clunky. The big advantage is that the river can't easily overturn the craft, but the size and clunkiness also severely limits the ability to control movements of the craft in the river. It largely appears that the river dominates wherever this craft goes soon after it enters the rapid. There could be big problems in narrow areas between big rocks.
