Anyway, I wish I would play as good as you whith "simple" arrangements like that, it sounds easy but I know how hard is it. Wow man, I definitly didn't hear a sound like that on guitar for a long time!

Cables氏のライブを拝見いたしました。一時期深刻な病に苦しんでいたという話も聞きましたが、とても元気そうで往年の洗練されたタッチとフィーリングは失われず何よりです。もう30年ほど前、N Y・Village Vanguardでバック奏者としての彼のプレイを見たことが懐かしく思い出されます。そして、ふと佐津間氏と彼のコラボを想像してみました。 Cables氏はモード奏法主体ですが、意外にもお似合いのセッションとなるような気がします。

実は Cables氏、私の田舎にArt Pepper quartetの一員として Pepper氏 の死去する1年半ほど前の1981年に訪れ、町のホールでプレイしているんです。既に閉店した町のジャズ喫茶のマスターの肝いりでしたが、関西に居住していた学生時代故、ライブに行けなかったのが本当に悔やまれます。そして、ふと佐津間氏と Cables氏のコラボ・デュオを想像してみました。 Cables氏はモード奏法主体ですが、意外にもお似合いのセッションになるような気がしてなりません……。
