Everything in Its Place varies across sets and not saying it needs to be perfect on a cheap set, but that track presents a specific experience that needs to come through as good as other sets at the price point.
The last part was really helpful, because i was acutally looking for IEMs that feel more like "in my head" instead of stage. It's super hard to describe it with words. When the music feels like it's in my head (maybe even originating from the center), it will stop my brain from thinking and i can fully focus on the music instead.
@@PaulWasabii I did EQ my M50x to get this effect. It's super easy to hear both, but that's only because i have brain damage. That changed my hearing. It's great for music, but horrible in public, when there're more than 3 voices around me. I was able to tune the M50x to a point where i hear the vocals in the center of my head and the rest sounds like stage from the outside. Blessless from Tielle works perfectly as an example for that.
Tried the OG Zero's , K-Bear KS2's , Moondrop Chu 2's , and QKZ-VK4's . The Zero 2 's were better than any of those imo . The sound is detailed ( enough ) and very nicely balanced .
I was excited for the zero 2 but after seeing the graphs I decided not to get it since its pretty much tuned the same with other sets that have been here for months now. I just opted to get the castor silver edition for $10 to accompany my og 7hz zero.
Great review and I really enjoy your style. In depth yet digestible. Paul, besides the Legato (which improves a lot and becomes a full spectrum beast when you use a pure quality silver cable and open bore JVC spiral dot tips to bring out the highs and air), which basshead set delivers great stage? I also enjoy the Rinko, while not a huge stage, one of the most holographic and unique sets I’ve heard, with that DD/mini planar combo. Have you had a chance to try the Symphonium Meteors? Excellent warm and smooth set. Does everything well, including stage.
Haven't tried the meteors but I like the newer planars Hidizs MP145 and Kiwi Melody. Not basshead, but that warm, bassy sound. I'd rather EQ a planar than try to find a DD that can do the same amount of bass. The XSL X-One with the Dark Magician driver and a couple different tunings is up there though. I am not a huge basshead though, more of a stage snob. I like planars and I like to hear everything so even with MP145 and Melody, use tips that don't emphasize bass so I enjoy what planars can do. But they have quite a bit of bass without EQ.
Is this a good option for hiphop(I also soemimes listen to pop, rock and so i meed vocal clartiy). I had commented in your reciew of cca raphsody that i needed a iem somewhere around 20-40 dollars for hiphop and gaming. You had recomended 7hz slanotez zero for gaming and a 50 dollar delfine for hiphop but i can onlt buy one and 50 dollars was a bit too much... Do you think since this is a bass and mid boosted 7hz salnote it eill be good for both gaming and hiphop... I also had comcerns regarding the fit of this model and male vocals. Id appreciate it kf you are able to reply to my queries, thank you.
yeah its fine. Here is the issue, more bass doesn't help spatial cues in gaming so that is why the original 7hz Zero is more popular. But that set isn't good for hip hop. Zero 2 will do both with that caveat, more bass isn't more better.
You can go either way, Castor Bass is more V shaped in that there is more bass and more treble. Zero 2 is perhaps less energetic but still fun. Some people get fatigued with more treble so Zero 2 works. Some people just want more bass as their music is less treble intense so doesn't matter.
Hi guys! I've got two iems: a v shape and a warm one. I want a bright analytical signature since I found I enjoy this sound and I want to add a third to my collection :3 Any recommendation under 50?
The original Zero, with less bass, has a strong personality. I have one. This new version with improved bass maybe better for a basshead like me, but put the Zero in the same scenario of dozens of others. Isn't, Paul?
Yeah I said something similar. The original stood out more, maybe like Chu, but there weren't a large pack of sets that were similar at time. Zero:2 is right in the middle of the pack with the changes as described by Crinacle. At this price point and 1DD drivers, it is real hard to stand out.
The two are close, Zero:2 snuck in a bit more subbass, Wan'er might sound a hair brighter. You can flip a coin or go with the cheaper option as they are both good sets for starting out. Wan'er is very popular and I like the look of Zero.
Hello Pau, I need you to answer quickly before Cyber Day ends. I commented on another post asking whether the Cadenza or the 02 would be better for me, and you suggested going for the more economical option. Now, I want to know if it's worth considering the Tin Hi-Fi T2 DLC, which is slightly more expensive but within my budget. I don't use a DAC, so I want to know if it would work well without one and if the extra expense is justified without using a DAC. Or do you recommend sticking with the 02? There's less than an hour left, so I hope you can respond quickly to help me make a decision. Thanks, Pau.
Sorry, missed that. Cyber week ended but there are other sales coming in December so hold on to your wallet. And no, I would not spend extra for T2 DLC, maybe Moondrop Lan. Even the Kinera Celest Wyvern Pro is a good starting point.
The problem with iems right now is that you have to spend a lot for the little better.Under 500 dollars you get an " ok set ".My only hope is KZ to make a serious breakthrough in the future because they are getting better , all the others are asking too much for too little
Yeah I don't like most of the $100-350 range. You are paying a lot of money and still a big gap to $500. You are typically better off spending less than more.
@@PaulWasabii we agree Paul.. Recently I bought NDH 30 and wow what a bass..My 150 $ iem don t even come close.I can hear the leather of the drum at the lower registers..Which iem under 500 $ can do that???

I never heard ZS6 but these sound like many popular sets from the past year. I call them generally appealing where KZ back then may have been more bass, more treble style. This is more balanced and natural.
The cheaper one. If you want a slimmer bass line, the Wan'er. As I said, these are all quite close so I would go with the lower end of the price range and Zero:2 is right there.

Yes, I briefly mentioned this on Facebook. You can almost cover both Zero and Zero:2 bass shelves with Polaris. But yes, these all sound similar but I do like the flexibility of Polaris and its upper treble which was toned down in Zero:2. If you are on FBook: facebook.com/groups/hopesanddriams/
Simgot tends to be brighter, Zero:2 went less bright more bass. If you were to listen to them back to back, Zero2 probably sounds bassier and EW200 bright, but they have the same bass levels. Just how Simgot tends to tilt the treble up so moves the balance slightly bright.
Definitely agree about the sub bass. It honestly ruins alot of songs for me when there is alot of subbass, i like the midbass over sub bass style for iems.
Its a shallow fit so you do need to work the tips quite a bit to get them right. No one wants to hear that on a $20 set as they want it to just work out of the box
Yes, you can look at it both ways. Some didn't like the original so will like the 0:2. Just different sets vs improving the 1st. They should have called it an edition vs 2.
The Zero 2 rather closely follows the HBB tuning target (yet with a lot of additional deep sub bass) and not the Harmon 2019 in-ear tuning target which many find to be too bright in the upper midrange and the lower treble.
Great review Paul, atm I am still digging this Ziigaat Nuo set. Thanks for posting.
Everything In The Right Place is always one of the first tracks I play on new sets.
Love that song
Excellent breakdown you killed it as usual🤙🇺🇸

You can probably EQ other sets with less upper treble and have them go inwards. You are a step ahead of most people if you can hear both
@@PaulWasabii I did EQ my M50x to get this effect. It's super easy to hear both, but that's only because i have brain damage. That changed my hearing. Castor Zero Silver is the leaner, cleaner sound. Perhaps closer to the original Zero. Zero:2 is similar to lots of sets as you said.

Chu 2 va zero 2. Which is more balanced and natural sounding , and focuses more on music than vocals ? Please suggest
Those two are very close, in the same way Chu 1 and Zero 1. Zero 2 is more balanced. But if you wanted more energetic vocals, that is Chu 2.

Yes, they are more like bass boosted rather than basshead. KBEAR Rosefinch is the cheapest basshead style
