  • What's that little strap hanging off my booster seat? It's actually a safety feature - here's how and why to use it!

    Thank you. They tell you it’s a shoulder belt Guide strap, but no explanation on how to use it. This was super helpful.

    Strange that I didn’t find a video with this explanation on the vendor site. Only a small picture on the booster. Super helpful.

    I have seen those. I have to find it. I was about to purchase an adjuster. When we get home I’m going to look for it.

      Did you find it?

    • @lamkwaymer2153
      @lamkwaymer2153 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. Not only did I find one on the garage floor while cleaning it out, I found one in a drawer in the laundry room. I usually keep parts and we had two Graco 4&1, plus a booster. The kids are 4 apart. I had my 4 year old on the booster for a week but momma complained about the strap and ease of disconnecting. But now that I found the adjusters I’m at least going to remove the car seat in my van. I’m over the car seats. Lol but thanks for the video. No long presentation for a 1 minute act. It was straight to the point and helpful as I think you intended.

    Does the seat belt positioning clip and strap come with the seat? If yes, is it stored in the seat or loose in a bag, if in a bag I guess we misplaced it.

    • @megan.hackworth
      @megan.hackworth  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The answer to that depends on which booster seat you got. You could always contact the manufacturer and ask for a replacement

    Question…are you supposed to pull all the slack out of the seat belt after you buckle them in? Or do you leave it loose like with adults? Just buckle and go?

      @megan.hackworth  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There's generally no need to lock the seat belt with booster seats. As long as the child is sitting with the belt properly positioned across their body, the emergency locking mechanism of the seat belt will keep them safe. Great question!

    Like where does it hook to in the back?

    • @megan.hackworth
      @megan.hackworth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You just slide the shoulder portion of the seat belt through the belt guide and position it at your child's shoulder. Then the strap goes behind their back and it just helps position the seat belt in the right place.

    The red clip slides so freely it does nothing. What am I doing wrong.

    • @megan.hackworth
      @megan.hackworth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh I've seen some where it comes threaded wrong. You'll need to rethread the end through the plastic so that it will stay put.

    Thank you for putting out this video to explain what it actually is and how it is applied. @Jovikids maybe you want to hire this lady to help you put out an actual useful product video which demonstrates how to use your seats safely, instead of the pointless unboxing videos you have on your channel.

    I don’t see no difference

    • @megan.hackworth
      @megan.hackworth  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The difference is that the belt guide strap holds the shoulder belt up against the middle of his collar bone instead of it cutting across his neck. 🙂 Comfier for the child, but most importantly, safer!

    • @melissahall5596
      @melissahall5596 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It still on his neck when you let it go. You was holding it till the end and when you let it go it went right back to his neck. I dont see how this was heping

    • @megan.hackworth
      @megan.hackworth  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@melissahall5596 yep you're right. I was just demonstrating where you would adjust it to. I didn't actually make the adjustment on the strap because it would've taken longer than I wanted. If I were redoing the video, I would probably actually adjust it correctly and just edit it to speed up through that part, but at this point I wasn't thinking about editing it down.
