I have been miserable for years. I recently had a therapy session after resisting doing it, and one of the first things the therapist said is that I should spend time on self-reflection. I have been looking at talks like this to first understand what it is and secondly understand the impact it can have on understanding one’s self. Thank you Mr. Schmidt for your discussion. It has been extremely helpful… 🙏🏾😊

my first thought was, such wisdom for his age! he went in the direction of learning from this harrowing experience rather than acting out his grief. This takes an inner depth of understanding and perseverance, knowing that self assessment and knowing one's self is the ultimate benefit. In the midst of the pain and grief that lasts years, keeping this perspective isn't easy. But I believe we are all capable of this. we just need to be reminded that we are, and for doing this, thanks, james!

You have officially left a lasting legacy to me on this video. Thank you James :) I will go and reflect now about my life. I will reflect on how I achieved the things I did and what I want to achieve and how I want to get there.

Listening to James and his talk regarding leaving a legacy was inspiring for me. I can't help but wonder what kind of skills and values I will leave behind. It is a big question and one that reaches all aspects of my life, including home life, my workplace working with teenagers and what impact I am making on them. This is certainly a sobering message and important message to us all.
I also really liked the wooden figurine looking at itself in a mirror. It symbolises (UK spelling) self-reflection in a lighthearted but meaningful way.

Great presentation! Self-Reflection is important. I love the comment that was made about enjoying the journey along the way. Oftentimes, individuals rush through life only focusing on the next step, level, job, relationship, etc., and they lose sight of the importance of growing through the journey. Thanks for sharing!

I see so many guys his age stuck up and vain, with little appreciation for others. Especially those that are successful in sports. It is refreshing to see James have such awareness and care for others. To appreciate older people.
I'm a 20-something woman and not many people in my age range know how to be grateful or spend quality time with others anymore. I don't want to be like that.
Self-reflection is the cherry not just on top but without which you cannot even enjoy the cake!
