I know it's early but I'm starting on this year's Halloween costumes since I will be sewing 6 different costumes for a group cosplay from ATLA. This is the start of the Zuko costume.
I traced a button up shirt's seams and then added length on a slant to the front, and length to the bottom. Use a shirt that fits for tracing, even better if you don't need it anymore and can seam rip it apart. I used 2 yards for the bottom layer and one yard for the top layer and the excess as the bias tape.
