- Today I visit the Famous grave of Lynsey De Paul the former Composer, Singer, Actress, and model.
Lynsey de Paul (born Lyndsey Monckton Rubin; 11 June 1948[1] - 1 October 2014)[2] was an English singer-songwriter and producer. After initially writing hits for others, she had her own chart hits in the UK and Europe in the 1970s, starting with UK top 10 single "Sugar Me", and became the first British female artist to achieve a number one with a self-written song (in 1972 in Belgium, Spain and The Netherlands). She represented the UK in the 1977 Eurovision Song Contest, scoring another chart-topping hit in Switzerland and had a successful career as a two-time Ivor Novello Award-winning composer, record producer, actress and television celebrity.

I was lucky enough to briefly meet lynsey back in the 80s when I worked in a shop on the kings road Chelsea, she was absolutely stunning breathtakingly stunning, I could feel my face burning as I spoke to her blushing, and the thing I really remember was how polite and down to earth she was, she was a celebrity but it didn't go to her head like some, I wanted to ask for her autograph and I'm sure if I had she would have given it to me, but I was young and too embarrassed to ask, gone too soon beautiful women RIP Lynsey. Xxx

My hubby had such a crush on this lady , he didn’t know she had died and it was such a shock when I showed him this video . Got to be honest I wasn’t a huge fan of Lyndsey’s music back in the day , however I did love her hit ‘ Sugar me ‘… can’t get it out of my head now ‼️ RIP Lyndsey 🕊️

In high school there was a piano in the refectory that was off limits to the pupils. One day a guy dared to play Sugar me. The teacher didn't mind, as the catchy tune was so pleasant to hear. Thank you Lynsey for the wonderful memories.

I think you could spend a little bit longer focusing on the gravestone. That's what everyone clicks to see, not the ten minute walk. You could talk about her while the camera is pointing at the gravestone with little images of her appearing in the corner of the screen. And there's something very patronising about patting the headstone on the 'head'. But the idea is good. It just seems that the main focus point is the least important. It would be lovely to finish with her song "won't somebody dance with me " while the camera is on her gravestone and then it slowly fades out. That would send shivers down tge viewers spine.

Shamefully I have never heard of her but what an interesting lady. With the reference about Sean Connery, I can quite believe. My father came across Sean when out on the beat. Sean had broken down and his language was so blue and was so rude that any of his films was not allowed on in our house! 66 is no age. Will have to research her music now. Thanks for educating me ❤

I have so much respect how you present your videos I love how you always acknowledge the people by gently tapping their headstones that is such a nice thing to do so respectful for the decreased person. Some graves you never want to see, and Lynsay is one of them she was taken far too early. She was a lovely lady and I hope she is happy. RIP.
I didn’t know she had passed 😢 She was a brilliant singer songwriter and musician. As well as a very attractive lady. She had a love for animals as I recall and had a cat with 3 legs that she called tripod. I’m of a certain age now But the 60s and 70s were the best years in my book. And there’s quite a few legends that have since passed away over the years. But it’s good to remember back in the day.May she rest in peace God bless her ❤ Keep up the good work Paul I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. All the best.

Days before Lindsey died so unexpectedly she had been at the unveiling of the Spike Milligan statue in Finchley. You were here last week Paul. The Spike statue is in Stephen's House and Gardens, a local park. It's two minutes walk from East Finchley Cemetery and crematorium. Spike was well known locally and involved with the Finchley Society.
I loved lynsey in the 70, a truly talented, beautiful lady, what a sad ending ,, g0 R0ck with the 😇 x

Loved Lynsey so much because I had the same mole and all the boys used to tease me and make fun,, fast forward to early 70s and guess what , I’ve got the Lynsey dot as they called it…. Lovely memories of her.. x Lovely grave .
Your words got me crying, also because my mom passed away in april 2023 and the songs of Lynsey remembers me of my youth, i was born in 1960.

Watched many of your video's since I found your channel and they all touch my heart. We often think celebrities will have out of the ordinary graves in a celebrity cemetery but of course, in death, we are all equal and seeing these graves humbles us all. Everybody occupies the same space in death even those who provoke worldwide admiration. Thank you for showing us these resting places and giving us information about the people. I can see they make you feel tearful as well. So respectful. Lyndsey died on the same date (not year) as my Dad (October 1st) and at the same age of 66, so it felt poignant. I’ve have seen this grave often when I’ve been to Hendon cemetery. What struck me the most is the simplicity of it, it I guess the piano says it all. When I first looked for it I knew it was hers by the piano. Hendon has a lot of beautiful gravestones. Have to ever looked at famous names in Kensal Green Cemetery .

Aww, I remember Lynsey too. Such a sad way to go. As a massive Eurovision fan I knew she’d come second although, I was too young in 77 to remember her song. Yes it’s rare we do well in the competition, but funnily enough, we came second this year too.

She was truly beautiful and intelligent, loved the piano, you see that and immediately see her sat at her piano, he headstone seemed to be tilting to the right a bit, I just hope that it doesn't end up like the one you showed us. She was part of my childhood, loved her. Thank you Paul for always being empathetic and choosing your words wisely. So much respect for you. Xx
