I love shopping hauls and when people state what the item is and its cost in a video as i do my work around the house and listen more than watch. I dont have time to sit. Im now a subscriber. Great you can homeschool and let your kids cook.❤😊
Wonderful!! I am so glad you enjoy!! I put a bunch of hauls in a playlist on my channel too which is nice for someone like you who is working hard and listening in the background!
Yes it was!!!!!! I kept my youngest home for 5 years!!!! He EXCELLED!!!!!!! HIS HIGHSCHOOL YEARS HE DID GREAT!!!! MOST ALLL GIRL. FRIENDS!!!! HE DID HAVE MALE FRIENDS TOO BUT THE GIRLS LOVED COMING TO OUR HOUSE!!
Shannon this is my first video I’ve watched on your channel and it definitely will not be the last!! I loved shopping at Wegman’s when I was living in New York! I love getting ideas for new items to be on the lookout for when I go grocery shopping!! Hope you and your family are having a spectacular week
Those sound super understandable! I just ran out of my sparkling water today (our family's favorite drink), and I realized that is another thing that makes me want to run to the store! Thanks for commenting!!
Yes it does...but am I crazy to feel like I am winning something if I get through the last week without "giving in" and going to the store? But when the coffee was out...well we all have our limits!
My husband uses the canned biscuits for the dumplings. He cuts each biscuit into fourths. Makes some very good dumplings! We use the same plug in fly catcher. We have two in the kitchen. They are great!!
Yes! I just made the crockpot chicken and dumplings using the canned biscuits cut into 4! We all really liked it that way and it's easy. I'm thinking of using that recipe for a huge meal at our church sometime ( meal for about 60 people) I think people would really like it!
Yes, I have chickens so a lot of times, I don't need to think about eggs, but as winter approaches, I have to start buying them again (my chickens don't produce many in winter). Eggs are my 19 year old son's "go to" quick food when there is "nothing to eat"! Thank you for your comment!!
Due to me having high blood pressure, I have to use the cold medicine that is specifically for people with hbp. The name brand is expensive but I found the exact generic for hbp at dollar general for $2.35 instead of $8.00. They actually work better. I would try that but I have high blood pressure but thanks for the heads up. I can get it for my kids. I came across your channel because I like large grocery hauls. I hate shopping for groceries so I do it once a month and fill in stuff if needed (bread, buns, almond milk). I’m going to subscribe and turn on notifications. I did enjoy this video.
I don't! Unless they are carrots and maybe a few other things...lemons, onions, potatoes, etc. But most keep in fridge for at least a few weeks. What I really do is this...I strategize first of all and plan to do the meals that use veggies that need to be used first...for example, mushrooms dont last long, so I would do my meal using mushrooms the first week, zucchini and broccoli as well. And by the last week of the month...it's frozen veggies or I grab a specific veggie or fruit again from the store mid month!! Hope this clarifies!
I love coffee but I love Cherry Pepsi more I don't know maybe when it gets colder I'll love coffee more but right now it's the Cherry Pepsi can't do without it 😂
Ohhhh I had a very strong diet coke phase...so I relate!! When my dad visits I still have that moment every time where I think "Oops I forgot I need diet coke on hand". But actually I transferred this love over to my sparkling water with some flavor drops in it!! I like it just as well now or better and it is more healthy so I feel better about it!
What I live by is if I haven't meal prepped and am out of meat ( my 19 yr old has to have chicken) that's when we have no choice but to go to the store.
Yes I would agree that meat is pretty important ....and especially to my 19 year old too!!! He is always reminding me of how many calories he has to eat a day!😂
Well I'm a sin😅gle mom of two men now. But their whole life depended on me so YEAHHHHH. 😊if I ran out of anything I had to work. EARN money. And THEN GO TO THE STORE!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
New friend here. Nice haul I am a coffee person to. I like the way the meat is packaged up. We still use styrofoam. I would love to stay connected with you. See you in your next video. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for subscribing and connecting with me! I'm curious what state you are from in the US? I was checking out your channel...looks like a lot of yummy meal ideas. Seems like some have a southern flare, is that right? Thanks again for your comments and please send me the name of one of your very favorite meals from your channel!
Thanks for commenting! Glad to have you and hope you will be back to my channel! Yes those traps definitely work and flies here in the country are plenty!!! I don't think I understood how bad they can be until we moved here to this old family farm 14 years ago!
Generic shortening is at Walmart for either $5.18 or $6.18 depending if your store has raised the price. Highly recommend checking the plastic to see if it is sealed before buying but I get that since Aldi doesn’t have their brand anymore.
@@shannonsortore3251 the Walmart brand doesn’t leave a lot of extra so there was a time when the little circle of plastic wasn’t sealed all the way around. I haven’t had it in awhile but it always makes me wonder where it is stored before it gets to the shelf so I check before buying.
We don't do coffee but I understand the emergency of it. I am a tea drinker but we have so many tea bags that I am sure it would be ages before I ran out of everything. Our emergency is almost always potatoes. We can run out of almost anything but potatoes are one of my son's favorites. We try to do rice and pasta once a week but we normally do breakfast hash browns and french fries and some other potatoes on a few days of the week. Monthly shopping is certainly a challenge at the beginning to fit everything and at the end of the month trying to make everything. I do like monthly meal planning to shop by but I do shop more then once a month. You did a great job shopping!
😂 so interesting how everyone has their item(s) they can't live without. I assumed toilet paper and coffee, but potatos and cheese ( I have seen several comments about cheese) were not what I was expecting...but it's all about what is a staple to your family! I realized this week how much I like to have my sparkling water on hand!
Sure!!! Here it is.... Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli ( from Alison Havens instagram) -chuck roast or sirloin steak sliced -1 cup beef broth -1/2 cup soy sauce -1/4 cup brown sugar -1 tablespoon sesame oil -4 gloves minced garlic -4 tablespoons cornstarch -4 tablespoons water 1.Add beef broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and brown sugar to crock pot and whisk together 2. Slice beef into 1-inch strips and place in liquid. Toss to coat, 3. Cover with lid and cook on low for 4 hours. 4. After 4 hours of cooking, in a bowl, whisk together 4 tablespoons of water and 4 tablespoons of cornstarch. Pour over beef and stir. 5.Add broccoli to crockpot and stir. Cover crockpot with the lid and cook an additional ~30 minutes until broccoli is cooked and sauce has thickened. 6. Serve over white or brown rice. ***A couple notes after making this.... 1.You can use any cut of beef that slices up because it will get tender 2. I added ginger paste (short cut to using fresh grated ginger but is similar) 3. Next time I would cook broccoli separately and add in at the end, because I added it to crockpot too early and it got too mushy) Overall this recipe was a winner
Thanks for commenting!...are you saying your grocery emergency is running out of conditioner? I would agree but instead of conditioner it would be my leave in conditioner/cream (fructis)...need it after my shower!

Mine is eggs. I can make bread, I can stretch meat but eggs are a necessity for my family.

Potatoes...any form, fresh or frozen. I need Potatoes every day
You are not the only one who mentioned potatoes! Thank you so much for sharing your comments!
Bread, cheese, peanut butter
You are the second person to say cheese! Lots of cheese lovers out there! Thank you for commenting!

Coffe for sure
Yes! Do you have a back up stash (for emergencies)?
Eggs coffee and butter I feel like I have to have them 😂 great video
Those sound very reasonable and necessary!
Nice haul Shannon
Thanks so much!!!
Try croutons for a short cut in the bruschetta casserole.
Yes! That makes perfect sense...it's kind of along the chopped up garlic bread idea. Have you done that before?
Coffee just like you as well as bread and household...toilet paper!
Good choices! Thanks for the comment
Coffee is def an emergency
Yessss! And thanks for commenting!😊
I don't do coffee but do drink dr pepper. If I run out of that or my specific water that I can drink then we go to the store immediately

And not demand money/ food/ and a place free of rent or cost to live. Go take a course that will get a job.
I feel if there's no cheese in the house it's time to go to the store it's time to get more I got to have my cheese daily
Nice daily 🧀 gotta have it! Should be a meme!

So is it commonly found unsealed? Just wondering
And thanks! I thought of Walmart After I had already been there 😅

You're welcome!
I have a fly strip hanging in my kitchen
I get it...I desperately hate flies!! But these contraptions are a nice alternative! And they work without showing everyone the carnage
Onions is my food emergency.
I was going to say, "wow", but my 19 year old who likes to cook said, "I feel that"😂
Nice haul
Thanks so much ❤️
Milk, toilet paper, tooth paste, deodorant are top of the list emergency store run material!!
I know!! This is bringing back covid memories....the toilet paper mad rush! 🧻 🧻
