Jeff - You are right! No strike off plate allowed in ASTM C138. However, the bar is allowed in ASTM C231 to determine the air content. This creates confusion and a lot of people will use the bar when they shouldn't. When I update this video I will make the correction. Thanks for pointing it out.

Double check the standard! I think you will find that ASTM C138 does NOT permit using a strike off bar for unit weight.
