I have an Aos 3.5 6s with 1804 motors and it feels very close to my other 5 inch quads. Only downside is when you crash a 5 is easier to turtle mode out of a sticky situation
The way the camera is angled seems like it would require a major pitch forward when you fly, thereby forcing you to fly it very fast. Can the camera angle be easily adjusted? I want to use this for cinematic flying and have the option to also fly it fast in order to chase fast moving objects.
About to build one - waiting for parts to arrive. Going to try something different this time - iNav + GPS Pos Hold is my next goal - Should be fun to see it work - Stay tuned !
looks awesom, but i realize i only like flying 5in and the 533 hd , nothing bigger and nothing smaller, but the Iflight brand stands out , they awesome , nazgul f5...still kicking after 2 years
Agreed.. I started out on micros before switching to a 5". I was shocked how stable a 5" is over anything smaller. Now my micros don't leave my backyard.
Surpised to see that iFlight ships it with Betaflight 4.3, so no HD OSD. That’s an easy upgrade if you know your way around Betaflight, but it should be on the latest version out of the box IMO
Oh you took the comments straight out of my hand, well done. As someone who has in no way kept up with all of this stuff it seems stuffed with train spotter numbers. Cracking looking video I am tempted to start playing this game. Where can I find it fixed wing?
Nice flying spot and great review. Agree about 5" quads being on the large side for beginners. They have become very heavy and loud and I personally wouldn't feel comfortable flying one anywhere near members of the public in the UK
Hi @madrc I'm thinking of building a custom 4 inch walksnail moonlight drone... Would a moonlight vtx fit in there? Probably need to cut in the side panels or remove them, but apart from that, would that fit?
great video, one question, whats the max of flight time with which battery pack could you get out of it ? would love to be able to fly at least 15 minutes.... :-) (oh and if my question is stupid :-D I am new to fpv flying and think about buying this one)
350g quad is a good sweetspot and if flown fast enough with it's momentum to counteract the wind. I've had a Geprc sparrow mx 3 with similar weight for years. I don't think 350g including battery with open prop is a good option for a beginner. Learn to fly in the wind with a 250g or less drone is a better option and it's safer to fly with people around. I fly a mobula 8 in high winds so really is dependent on your level of flying skill and confidence.
Great review. Have spent many hours scouring youtube for the best setup and yours is the best hands down. Do you know what kv the motors are? Just had my first crash on the F4D and seized a motor. I can't find these specs or motors anywhere online. There are no text on the motor whatsoever. I do see a small 24 on the base/mounting part of the motor. Could that possibly mean 2400kv?
I am so confused 😂 I watch Captain Drone, and he and one other youtuber said that it was full of power, and now you are saying it is not a fast-moving Quad😅😅
It’s got plenty of power but it’s not a fast quad is how it drops, it hangs a long time. Actual speed is dictated by bank angle and motor power, it’s got plenty of both but it hangs longer than a larger quad due to is lack of weight overall.
Glad it’s not just me with the wobbling in o3 footage thats unavoidable no matter how much stabilization. The o3 video recording is unfortunately worthless as it’s so unreliable and looks awful.
48/48 for the ESC settings and some filter/PID changes seem to fix it on the iFlight quads, made my Nazgul evoque 5inch actually usable when beforehand I was considering selling it in frustration. I've not had the same twitchy issue with stabilised footage on my Flywoo O3 quads

do you use it for freestyle or cinematic?

the camera angle adjusts very easy..
Been flying 4 inches for years smaller size and lighter makes a nice change.
What would you suggest for a 4-in quad?

Sweet looking quad...was waiting for you to hit the opening in the wall😎 Great as usual....
I only had one set of props and I just did not want to risk it lol.

Did you receive the O3 lens module already from Aliexpress?

I agree. Should have 4.4 so we can have HD OSD and RTH gps
also agree! they don't even have any 4.4 presets and seem to have no plan to ever have them. They're even telling people to wait for 4.5.

Awesome flying and review, Ian! 😃
Really nice looking quad indeed!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
They can try n take my 5" from my cold, dead hands 😂

iFlight tends to make a pretty decent quad, and this design is making me realize that my motors are insanely undersized.

15 minutes is unlikely on a five inch. You’re talking more 3-6 minutes on a standard 6S 1500mah pack.
I totally agree 4 inch is better for bandos
Nice Flight!
@madrc it is less noisy than a 5" even if it is not silent
that was quiesting :) it is less noisy ?

Seriously where tf you ppl find these locations, seems like europeans have the best spots,
And the capacitor??
It’s got soft start board so it’s not really needed.
@@MadRC soft start board is the anti-spark?? I just moved to 6s and I get scared every time I connect the battery, I need one of those…

That's so heavy for a 4", maybe why it's not that quiet
Like 173

Yea the IH3 - 03 was horrific also, had to do a lot of tuning to get smooth footage
I don’t have any problems with geprc mark 5 dc.
