Cam: GoPro Hero3+ Silver edition
Car: Renaultsport Clio 172 phase 1
Apologies for the audio, all the cam picked up was wind (good for 120mph my arse)
I rode this on my f650gs starting at Ullapool riding to Durness. Starting at 4.30am in early July l saw 500-1000 red deer including two massive King Stag who I had to stop for and wait to pass (they own the road). Only 4 moving cars to John O'Groats 177 miles, arriving at 8.45am. This road has been the most spectacular and memorable ride so far.
I've just driven this exact journey with my wife and it's absolutely stunning. The video and any picture just don't do it justice. But this a least lets us revisit the fantastic journey :)

A road I've driven many times and it never gets old. Just an absolutely amazing place. Durness and Skye are my go to every year for a good break away from city life. Skye via Ullapool road.

This is one of my favorite drives in the world. There are so many inviting little glens and hills and beaches that it is hard to not stop too often and risk not reaching Ullapool before nightfall.
A friend and I did a Scottish road trip in a ph1 172 (me) and a cup-pack 182 (wingman) just over 5 years ago. BnB'd in Ullapool one night. 5 days and about 1300 miles in all. Great vid brought back memories of the epic roads up there...
Love driving this road do so August every year never get tiered off it wonderful .
The best driving route in the UK, in my opinion, just did this month and with the peaks snowy, just beautiful.

I drove the NC 500 2018 stopped at this petrol station to fill the tank I was surprised it cost my 70gbp the most it has ever cost to fill up here in Canada is $60 I drive a Chrysler 300.
Planning to cycle (alone) from Ullapool to Durness soon. Hope the drivers are considerate to the cyclists!

Nice drive. And I've said it before and I'll say it again: the roads in this country, especially in the north, are truly shocking :P
I'm in Glasgow and I've just worked out it would take about the same time to get from here to Durness as it would take to go to Wales. I've heard Wales has great roads too. But I feel at peace on Scottish roads so North it is.

There are some lovely roads in North Wales, especially in Snowdonia. As a Scot, you have just as much Pict (Briton/ Welsh) in you as Gael.
As for the far North, Durness is closer to the Arctic Circle than to the south coast of Britain. At least you would get to see the Northern Lights up there.
Pity about the bug splats near the end!
Shame about the bugs in Scourie and Strathkinnaird. A nice show of all the damage that the EU has done to the road. All those cliff faces where they did the blasting. I drove it when it was all single file in 1978. In later years, I took the detour out to Achiltibuie and then to Lochinver via Inverkirkaig and on to Stoer Head and Drumbeg. The Kinlochbervie Road is also nice and on to Oldshoremore Beach. It should not be made known, before they start "improving" those nice roads as well.

Can't wait to get my license back then wait 5 years for the insurance to be come acceptable to then eventually take a drive up to this. Could be dead by then right enough.

Without good audio, even the most beautiful views fall out on average and for my taste you drive too fast to make it relaxing.
You can go to settings and slow it down if you wish.
Go a bit slower and you would have been able to see Scotland. Wild life BEWARE

What is that terrible Hissing/Rattling noise in the background, sounds like your dragging a shopping trolley behind you. Had to turn the video off, too irritating!
