I can't believe this. This is one of the most famous chopin etudes when everyone starts to learn them. Cause This is not the most diffiucult etude to play. Kate definitely shows it doesn't matter how much it is difficult to play when it comes to call "playing piano well". The way she creates rythm is so dynamic and very well planed. This is so fun,chearful and full of sparkle. The vibes she found and express from every pieces are so unique, special and beautiful!
@Wasnovak Most people say Chopin’s hardest etudes are Op.10 no.1,2 and Op.25 no.6,8,11. Actually, majority of etudes are harder than Op.10 no.5, but this piece requires very clean pedaling and accurate touch. It’s relatively easy to play, hard to follow Chopin’s purpose.
Oh my... it was suuuper clean. The descending octaves at the end was executed without slowing down first and then getting faster, but instead immediately fast and it's so satisfying to listen and watch her hands on fire
Her voicing is amazing, she brings such life and emotion to this. With a piece a like this, there is always the danger to sound robotic and just play every note loud and fast. I love it!

I've probably listened to this nearly a hundred times. I've been a passive listener of classical since I was a kid, but this performance made me pay attention and realize the brilliance of Chopin to create such a masterpiece and of Kate to play it in such a magical way. Its almost too good to be true, like it transcends just music.
Extraordinary playing! I love this piece, but this is on another level. She plays this with by far the best interpretation, phrasing and characterisation I have ever seen! Well done Kate.
She has been my reference of playing Chopin among the younger pianists, and this etude is certainly one of the main reasons for that. Her perfomance is absolutely flawless yet so genuinely human and personal.

이때 참가자들 에튀드 들어보면 파이널리스트인 사람과 아닌 사람의 연주에 확실한 차이가 있네요. 깔끔 명료하고 듣기좋아요.

저도요....에튀드 5번 솔직히 관심 없었는데.. 이거 듣고나니까 확 관심이 갈정도로....제가 들어본 에튀드5번 중에서는 최고라고 생각합니다.
一つ一つの音が美しいし揃っている。間の取り方も素晴らしすぎる。特に左手の音の出し方が好き。ほかの人の黒鍵が聞けない。
살면서 여태 들어본 10-5 중에는 개인적으로 가장 좋은 연주라는 생각이 들었어요 :) 연습하면서 질릴때마다 들으러와야겠어요!

DH Ryu 10-5는 페달 한번 길게 잡으면 음 지저분해져서 폭망하기 쉬운데 진짜 오지게 깔끔하심
