I was once a keen walker of Northamptonshire footpaths and canals so I was delighted to find your videos of the Northampton Arm and Gayton. Not only were they of great interest but it was gratifying to find someone with a similar enthusiasm and pride for the much underrated, history rich, beautiful scenery of the Rose of the Shires. Over the past few weeks I have been checking out your back catalogue of videos and although I am from Northampton and you concentrate mainly on the Wellingborough area I was familiar with and therefore interested in many of them. Recently I watched a couple of your videos about gated and padlocked footpaths and that got me fired up and I was impressed with your efforts to get them opened up to the public again. I just came across this two-year-old video about the 81-year-old gentleman in Finedon being bullied by the local farmers and the way you went to offer your support impressed me beyond measure. It was an act of extraordinary kindness by you and I thought that if only every town and village had a “Purple” the world would be a much better place. I hope therefore that this will help your channel. Peace, Love and Light.
You really honour me. I just try to follow my heart and let my inner child follow. Gordon of Finedon is a really lovely bloke who I keep in touch with.
Thank you for taking the time to care for the country side and the people that live in it. I spent a large proportion of my life in Irthlingborough and have the same feelings for the land and nature.
I, too, lived in Artlenock in the 1950s/60s, and liked nothing more than taking off across the fields in the direction of Higham, sometimes the railway station, other times striking out towards Ditchford with my dog. It looks as though my beloved River Nene has been completely ruined by the "gravel grabbers". Cry "shame".
Hi Purple. Just watching this. I used to live near that field and my dad used to go walking all around the area...I even remember going blackberry picking up that track when I was a kid. No one used to have a problem years ago...as far as I know. So many things have changed.
I hope the two gentlemen with firearms (shotguns) had the breeches opened when talking to the old gentlemen. If not they are in breach of a firearms licence, and the police need to be told
Firstly it is covered by a shotgun certificate and not a firearms license. It is not illegal to have the shotgun closed up when you are near other members of the public, however it is sensible to do so. Remember though, not all shotguns are breech loading. Some are muzzle loading and so they cannot be broken.
I’ve seen the CCTV sign at the east end of the woods, as you come off the path you was on, I was under the impression that it was put there to deter people from trying to dig out the old mine entrance again, maybe they’re trying to stop the public from going into the woods entirely! 😳🙄
Hi purple I have walked that track through those fields with my dogs and my children. I also walked that track as a child, mainly to get to the woods down there to play and climb. I will write a witness statement. And I’m sure I may have some photos somewhere to prove that I walked that with my children.
This is a police matter ( northants finest lol )or the RSPCA… regarding the animal welfare..there’s always been problems with local farmers has long as I can remember…
Well, I'll be honest. I was slightly leaning towards the farmer as claiming acbess rights over private property isn't fair (and a fair bit of the backlash relates to these right of way claims being made by people on land that landowners had previously allowed people to enjoy). But then you showed that pile of manure dumped outside people's houses, mentioned the possible firearm's offence, that pathetic, abusive note and the fact that cowardly idiot is a tenant "farmer" and not even the landowner.
exactly that, i know a lot of landowners and i agree with protecting their lively hood and land, but when you consider that the previous farmer let everybody walk it, then when he died a little while back, this guy took over and has been terrorising the village. Ive kept quiet on the matter since it was brought to my attention last year. This time though i could stay stumm
So you think this kind of behavior is acceptable. Lol. It's not British steel and pensions btw get ya facts right before you speak out 😂😂😂 can't wait to walk on your land
So if your correct then why did the farmer make his apologies, remove the manure aswell as many officials getting involved. Your mother should have swolled bud 🤣🤣 yh I'm that guy. Deal with it. Got a problem come see me directly
