This is a great review bro! you really deserve more subscribers!
I asked the Devil to give me this card and a glorious beard like you 😈
This is the card I decided to go with for my first pc build! It’s an awesome card but the GPU is noisy. I went the undervolting route to lower temps and noise. I find this card is powerful enough to undervolt
damn your video image quality is better looking then bigger tech youtubers.
Clarity and refined looks of 580 to me seem much nicer then 1060
Good review, thank you!
Thank you. Like!
THANKS PRO!!!
Does the fixed power supply have the 8pin and 6pin that support the card?
Hey, I know this is old but how you get those Temps? I have the same exact card. And it always goes to 75-80 in the same tests as you. And the fan ramps up to 70%
if i heard correctly this card needs 650 wats from the power supply or is 500 anough?
Nice! Cool👍
hi i know this is an old video but can you tell me if the fans blow the air into the card or outside of it?
Thanks. Everything I wanted to know. Saw this card on Newegg for $459. Not sure if it's worth that kind of dough.
@@eratous4477 i bought a used one for 150€ i was only been used for 1 year
Can someone tell me why copper heatsinks are not being used anymore?
@@kart007k i see HIS used proper copper tubes on their 580 and overally it is mentioned one of the better 580s out there.
Fatih Solak we dont have HIS on US newegg store. Thanks for letting me know. I just bought Red Devil Golden sample from Newegg for $250 with 3 games.
What PSU power you suggest for a build with this GPU? Thanks!
Always go good psu.
Supernova G2, seasonic G, Corsair Rmx. Around 550w is enough.
Santanu Karar yes its more than enough. I can actually cram in 2 of these cards in a 650w psu
Nut
Yo would this work with Intel i5 8400 cpu , my friend is trying to tell me it works only with ryzen CPU so i'm really confused...
Your friend is full of shit. I've seen videos of people using this card with all kinds of i3, i5, & i7's.
I wouldn't try this card on an intel 2 core 4 thread chip though. Just say'in.
Okay thanks , but i was confused since ya know its made by amd and like intel is their biggest competitor , thanks.
how do you turn on the red devil led on the rx580
The RX590 is actually a 12nm from 14nm.
it runs without any problems on Sierra 10.12.6
Did this crash your computer like the RX 480's did and do!!
some matx cases might struggle with that height, my air 240 was a nightmare :(
Do you mean the width? That case is unusually short on space inside that main chamber. Not easy!
well, you mount it "upwards" from the motherboard, its the same with cpu coolers (low profile height)
and then we have low profile gpus/soundcards with different brackets. thats why cases have "max height" for example my old Air 240 was 120mm. since gpus rise from the motherboard in the same fashion, i wouldn't be able to mount the MSI 580. heck even my Pure Rock slim cant fit that case so it was AIO for that build.
Overall dimensions without mounting material (L x W x H), (mm)81.8 x 97 x 124.8 (pure rock slim)
my Phanteks P400S however has 160mm so it could fit it np at all.
Dark Rock Pro 3 is 163mm tall, cant fit. MSI 580 is 140mm tall and can fit. see where im going? :)
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/88/Height_demonstration_diagram.png
and since we mount GPUs this way, its height, not width :) ( the (kinda)flat part, being the motherboard)
the Zotac www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-low-profile#spec
is still 2 slots wide.
in the end its perspective , if a ruler changes direction on a table from standing to laying down the height/length ratio is flipped.
but what do i know, only working as an industrial worker for 16 years and reading instructions for new materials, feeding CNC machines with new info :)
i hope you understand my POV!
ofc i still liked the review! :)
You said to check out the full review on the site for the OC'd results/ but I don't see any OC results for this card. Is the bump in performance enough to pair it with a OC'd Ryzen 1200? At the moment in my area the EVGA GTX 1060 FTW card i want is over $100 more than the Power Color Red Devil Golden. Both the regular Red Devil and Golden are the exact same price. I'd just like to squeeze all the performance potential of the budget CPU. I've heard that the Ryzen 1200 CPU bottlenecks everything past the GTX 1060 on the Nvidia side/ I'm just wondering if the RX 580 REd Devil GOlden also pushes those bounderies.
but if you got a rx 560 already can you cross fire with this rx 580!?
SORRY mate you have your description wrong with the measurement, what you call the width (thickness) is actual the height (Top to Bottom )and what you call height is the width
Refined (uses ~18% more power). Evolved (some new firmware and stickers). Enhanced (priced £40 - £80 more than the RX 480). Smarter option is to buy a good RX480 on clearance rather than pay AMD's marketing department for the rebrand.
That is very interesting. I wonder why AMD are overvolting it. I guess they cannot be confident all chips will perform. I can't see the target market for this card tweaking the voltages.
My 2.5 year old GTX 980 outperforms this in most scenarios and manages to do so while consuming less power on average. Vega needs to come quickly for AMD because before long they're going to be dying on their arses.
this is a budget card.....980 was high end.....so a budget card is almost outperform a 2 years gtx 980 which was one of the best gpu în 2015
The 980 came to market in September 2014. I realise that in terms of cost it is in a different segment, but considering it is currently AMD's top offering it's rather depressing. Not only that, but the fact that 980 is older Maxwell 28nm architecture and is still more power efficient than this it's ludicrous. Realistically, why would you buy this? Plus this one is a Power Colour model so in most cases warranty returns will be horse manure.
But the rx 500 And 400 series are intended to be for mid to budget gamers unlike the almost top of the line by the 2015 standards 980
Damian Puisor Like I say, I get that. But you also have to think that this is still the most advanced silicon that AMD has on the market for GPUs and it doesn't even fare well against Nvidia's older architecture. I'm not saying the products are in the same segment I'm saying that Vega needs to come soon and it needs to make good on its potential because if it doesn't I can't see AMD recovering their GPU market share.
AMD are already dead if vega was good they would have released it. The try to squeeze whatever they can form bios and drivers to get close to Nvidia before the get Volta out. AMD should stick to CPUs there at least they have some chance on the GPU area the are lost. And cause they try to play at 2 fields at the same time that is why they cannot win.. :( And imo they started to pay reviewers to review their products... :D I mean why don't you compare it with the most powerful model from the 1060s when this is the most powerful 580 that drws as mouch power as 1080TI?!? :D
Great review as always David! This GPU looks terrific
