    Great review, thanks! Do you know if the Marka 350 or PN 360 Lipo packs will fit? These are slightly larger than GL-racing's packs, and we've found will not fit every car. Nice video sir! I’m a fan from hk.

      @rcexpatshk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching.
      I would recommend this to beginners yes. But you may need help with assembly and set up initially.
      I suggest you can simply stay with the GL racing electronics as they’ve been good to me. So kit, servo, motor, esc, body and wheels should work out just under $4000HK. You will still need a receiver compatible to whatever transmitter you’re using.
      This is not including any option parts that you may wish to add later.
      All should be available through the usual HK dealers.
      Hope to see you on the tracks soon 👍🏼

      I think this refers to the camber on the option hubs.
      The stock plastic one is 0.
      My friend who set up my car recommended leaving it at 0 or max 1.
      See how stock set up works for you before adding options. That way you can modify and set up to suit your own driving style .

    hi there. I'm running the GTR as well. I just noticed the motor runs very hot to the touch after a few minutes. Is this normal with the GL 3500kv. I have checked almost everything. The data bluetooth reads temperature at 39degress. Any suggestions?

    • @rcexpatshk
      @rcexpatshk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Is 39° too hot ?? Doesn’t seem too bad .
      I’m not sure as I’m used to running 1:5 scale at much much higher temps than that .
      I’d say just double check your spur and pinion mesh and make sure it’s not too tight.
      Other than that also make sure the rear of the motor is clean and not covered in debris and dust. I don’t have any issues with my motor and it’s still running fine till this day.
      Sorry if not much help .

    Don't know if you, or anyone else in your club, has any hands-on experience with the GL Racing GLR-GT (GL's most recent kit before releasing the GL-GTR)...but, I am curious about a comparison between these two. As with you, I am "getting tired" of the MR-03 EVO (one of my current two 'Stock' Class chassis...the other is the Reflex Racing RX28SE). Essentially, the EVO is my "Porsche Cup" Class chassis for RC Tech's "Mini96 World Challenge" group, but also my 'backup' for the "Stock" Class locally. Until watching this video, my plan was to replace the EVO with the GLR-GT...albeit, using the RX505 Triple Mount Conversion from Reflex Racing.
    The great thing about the GLR-GT (in comparison to GL's older chassis) was the completely updated front end. It offers huge improvements in handling over the older designs. From what I can tell, the GL-GTR appears to incorporate an almost identical front end as the GLR-GT, with some slight parts differences. Unfortunately, the GLR-GT has a serious problem, in the form of the tri-damper system...thus the reason for replacing it with Reflex's RX505. And then, many months later, GL releases this GL-GTR...which, in many ways, looks like it has a front end almost identical to the front end of the GLR-GT, but with a more traditional (and race-proven) tri-damper layout. And, it is because of this that I ask my question:
    If you and/or anyone else in your club has hands-on experience with the GL-GTR and GLR-GT (even more so if the GLR-GT has the Reflex RX505 upgrade), how do they handle when compared against each other? While "how fast are they against each other" is important, I am (slightly) more interested in how they handle against each other.

    • @rcexpatshk
      @rcexpatshk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do have the glr gt also. It was shown at the start of this video.
      My own personal experience is that the gtr handles the turns much better and can turn much tighter at speed.
      If less turns on the track then the gt may have the advantage. But running on a tighter track with many turns the gtr would be the better platform.
      I still run both but reflex racing isn’t popular in Hong Kong so nobody I know will have any knowledge of experience with those parts.

    • @ninthislandrc
      @ninthislandrc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rcexpatshk Cool beans (that's "thank you" in my speak...lol). Re-watching, I did realize that the GLR-GT was in the video (the third one)...but, I also see it still had the stock tri-damper layout (as opposed to the Reflex RX505 conversion). But, that's ok...based on this video, and some others I've since come across, it looks like the GL-GTR is the better/smarter choice. Guess it's time to delete everything I collected on the GLR-GT, and time to start my parts researching all over again (for the GL-GTR). 🤙

    I unfortunately have the same issue with this GL that I do with all the previous ones. If I’m buying a race car kit I don’t want to have to buy all sorts of upgrades right out of the box… a brass bottom plate is basically essential to be competitive so why do you have to buy it separately? I understand optional springs and things but…

    • @ninthislandrc
      @ninthislandrc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest, if you look at most of the kits from most of the manufacturers, the "standard" included chassis is a CF chassis. Also, a brass chassis is not, necessarily, "essential to be competitive"...it depends entirely on the class you are driving in. Different classes require different chassis. For some, brass is best. For others, carbon fiber is best. And, for others, aluminum is best. Speaking of brass chassis, brass is NOT always the best material to use, as it is a soft metal. For any manufacturer offering a SS chassis option, that will almost always be better than brass, as it has the weight of a brass chassis, combined with the hardness of an aluminum chassis.
      The great thing about many competition 1/10 kits is that they tend to be available with a choice of CF or aluminum chassis. It would be fantastic to see the 1/28 manufacturers start offering the same. If anyone representing, or having any connection to, any of the 1/28 manufacturers is reading this, consider this a *hint* to "upping your game". I won't "call out" any specific manufacturers...but, as certain manufacturers in the 1/10 area have discovered, when companies stop offering the 'choice', consumers tend to not only switch to using another company's products, but they also tend to "help" others by 'suggesting' they avoid products from the now-starting-to-be-shunned company (those who race 1/10...especially 1/10 buggy...will know what company I am referring to).
