Thank you so much for watching and the compliment. Also This solution can also be applied towards the cardboard spools that many manufacturers have started shifting to.
@@seanwoods647 Those sound fun , I saw someone at 3Dprintopia also printing R2 mugs they look so cool and probably a lot of fun to build. Thanks so much for watching
@@jay5181234oh yes, The ceiling lights are a fan favorite. I'm actually doing an upcoming video on creating your own Makerspace and I'm going to take everybody through everything that I've done and provide links to all the products so that you could create this effect in your own home lab or school makerspace . Stay tuned
Thanks so much for sharing such a brilliant idea ! I love R2 n most things og Star Wars n have some spare reels n could always use some more storage, You have inspired me to make my own from scratch, I'm new to 3d modeling n 3d printing, and enjoying the learning, I'm currently making a 3d model to negative shape n boolean to cut any geometric solid or random shape (within reason eg a donut wont work lol) into a mini 30mm rubiks extension mod. Was looking for r2 models to attempt with the cutting tool. and found this video. Thanks again great video, brilliant idea, and easy as pie to follow along n actually understand what you were getting across. Subscribed and looking forward to more of your videos.
Hey thanks for watching and the feedback. Your project sounds really interesting definitely reply back if you have any links or videos showing your progress. If you're looking for another R2 project I have another one on the channel for building a remote controlled baby Droid. Feel free to check it out and thanks again.
Hey so sorry I'm getting back to you. First off thanks so much for watching. The files are going to be available in our Discord server through our members only channel. I know there's been some difficulty getting into that channel So I'm going to look into it we do have regular channels that people can access as well but only the channels that are exclusive to members will have access to the files. Meantime I'm going to check into the main Discord link and see what's going on. Sorry for the inconvenience and I will get this resolved right away.
Awesome, the Discord server info should come automatically. We had some issues connecting it to the channel but I just got good news its being wrapped up today, meantime any files needed I can also send directly if need be. Thanks for much for watching and joining!!!
I do, right now I have files for eSun and SunLU but I'm working on more and looking for suggestions. You can definitely use for bambu spools. But I thought their spools Are detachable so that you can use them with refillable filament. Are you referring to a cardboard version they sell ?
Note that Bamboo spools are reusable and can be refilled. They have a quarter twist lock to them. They sell the refills on their site. so you don't have to have spools pile up.
Oh without a doubt. Especially when they're priced lower. However in some cases for whatever reason sometimes the ones with the cardboard end up going for more than the ones with the plastic which makes no sense to me. I've even seen companies that sell refill kits purposely to avoid any spool cost And they end up being more expensive than buying it with a spool. However sometimes the cardboard route isn't always the best option especially when you're dealing with an AMS or the Ace Pro as well as the upcoming CFS. The cardboard spools create too much friction. Of course you could always get the 3D printed attachment to solve that problem. Either way this project could also be used for the cardboard spools as well. Thanks so much for watching
Love the idea of recycling old spools into something fun and useful!
