I grew up in dundalk in the 50s. At the time the shopping center was an open shopping center and not yet enclosed. As a kid we enjoyed going to see the penguin display.

The food court was a 3 story Hutzler’s department store in the 1970s until the 1980s remodel. The Diamond Point furniture store that was closed was a large Sears department store. Also my two sons and their friend once got stuck in that elevator on a Saturday afternoon. Their friend thought it was a good idea to pull the doors open while going between floors and the elevator stopped between floors. The fire department had to get them out with a ladder !

Nice Eastpoint Mall in MD. Thanks. A classic payphone that really works. That is a rare sight these days. Sorry to see Auntie Anne Pretzels is closed during Mall hours. Hopefully other Pretzel shops are open elsewhere. I haven't seen that episode yet of the Simpson's Mall and the funny store names. A Dentist office in the mall, that's something I'd never see back in the old days of malls. Cool giant Halloween Crow. That store on the left with the slanted windows was cool to see. The mall sign, EPM for East Point Mall.

When I first set foot in this mall, I saw opportunity after opportunity missed. So much empty space and they don't know what to do with it. Some stores looked like a twister came through.

This mall is very deceptive. On the main floor, it looks somewhat small and uninteresting, but when you find the stairway it takes on a whole new aesthetic. From the bottom floor looking up, it's impressive and the mirror ceiling with the strategically placed skylights gives it a brighter and more spacious feeling. Also, it's nice to see an open JCPenney.

I grew up in Dundalk my childhood mall thank you for checking it out
In the 80s this mall was jumping
Full parking lots and every 15 minutes a fully loaded city bus would unload outside the doors to I’m talking standing loads
The mall is from the late 50s The JC Penney wing was added in the 70s and the mall was remodeled in I want to say the early 90s but I have been away from Maryland since 1998
The area by the mirror ceiling was an Ames and there is a now closed Sears added in the 90s during the remodel
I live in Texas now and am called a Yankee I always considered Maryland a northern state but I know it’s up for debate
The 3 story section used to be a department store called Hutzlers a long gone but once popular Baltimore landmark store chain also part of the 90s remodel
Once again Thanks guys for taking me back to my younger years sorry I wrote you a book

So if most malls have had their new design longer than their old design would it be safe to say that their new design is their original design over their old design or no way cause nothing compares to their old design?
