1. Have a loading ramp to dump from your trailer directly into a 20 yard, handle it little as possible. 2. T in a pressure gauge to the dump cylinder and build a weight chart for lifting 6" it will get you closer estimates. 3. Long term rentals of equipment are often better than short for wear/tear. 3 B. 0% on equipment and the pandemic has flooded the market with owner operators. 4. Get a 500-1000+Gal Bulk tank at the yard and have a fuel company fill it. Cheaper and convenient for you. 5. Add on performance parts seem to help IF you keep your foot off even though it sounds good!
Got the K&n air intake. I clean it’s often because the landfills are so dirty in the air. Good comment about rewarding a client. Running as many businesses as I do, relationships are the key to long term success. Everyone from your banker to the scale house person. It all matters. I have also thought about getting a skid steer for use for myself and renting it out. But like you said, you have to consider the risk vs. reward. For me that was too much of an investment for someone else to beat up on. So I decided instead to buy a tractor and instead of renting it I just offer tractor services on the side. Another option for you to consider is a used backhoe or a mini skid steer. Much less to invest and they can still make you money. Just my opinion but but something to consider.

Believe it or not, yes. And I really avoid "discounts" a lotttt. I just try to always have a really fair price for everyone. Because I tend to know a lot of people, or people tend to know me and so on. So it's hard to always work on a discount. But I did that job without a price in mind. And I told him to pay me later, but only for what he felt the time was worth. He did pay later, but I was in absolutely no hurry for it. He actually helped me get a $10k scholarship in college for running as well. Least I could do. Not sure if I mentioned that in the video. He is a cool dude.
If you have the equipment to reload it is totally worth it. I have 2 bobcat tractors and also a Kubota L47 tlb tractor so if I have light loads, part loads or bulky loads like furniture that have a lot of air gaps we will crush them up and if my F750 dump truck is not being used by any of my other businesses and will load it up with any where from 4-6 dumpsters because it holds 30yds. . It's crazy I had a guy get 6 20yd dumpsters and filled them with desks and empty wood shelving units doing a office renovation. We ended up crunching up all 6 dumpsters into 1 load. .
i'd be interested in a break down video of your expenses vs revenue, i've seen other guys do it but you seem to have a better understanding of finance/business (your background helps lol)

Ha I've thought about it, but have never been to worried. More concerned with the cable snapping. I've pulled in some super heavy loads for these types of dumpsters without issue. But now I feel you may have jinxed me.

Have you ever thought about instead of apartments.. to buy storage units? having less maintenance if something breaks down. You don't worry about people destroying it as you would your apartment. Just need to do snow removal and mowing.
