I am dying at the “free space” thing 😂 It’s a space in the middle that everyone can tick off to cut down on the time it takes for someone to get BINGO. A space people get to use for free. It has nothing to do with Haruki Murakami haha Back to back videos, you’ve had a busy weekend! Great job as always!
I read this years ago. I remember being totally absorbed by it. I remember the descriptions of the Greek islands and how I got a sense of the inner life of the characters in the expansive descriptions. I loved the ending. I thought it was earned.
eep! king did my fav! always love the way you're able to succinctly slice up the pros and cons and offer a meaty review in such a short amount of time. i totally get what you mean about wanting more from the sumire-miu relationship. i think we could've gotten 3-5 pages with them and i would've been content! but i also don't mind it too much either because i think it speaks to the elusive nature unrequited love exists in throughout the unique love triangle. the yearning is intensified because of this. a wonderful review, but now we need to know, out of all the ones you've read, which is your favorite Murakami!
I’ve been having a little think about your question. Here’s my current ranking best to worst, however, there’s something to enjoy in all of them. Kafka on the shore The wind up bird chronicle Sputnik sweetheart Norwegian wood 1Q84 Xx
Fun fact about Murakami translations. I haven't read any of his books in a long time, I tried two of the shorter ones in German. I had a lot of friends back then who loved his works and one once mentioned that she even liked him more when she started reading his English translations instead of the German.
Hey! Glad you enjoyed the review on review on the first one. I don’t have any immediate plans to read it. However, I do have it. So it will be done at some point :)
@@petrageciova5719 thank you! Thats really nice of you to say. Weekends are the only time I have to film at the moment I don’t like to get too backlogged :)

@@rororeadsAt first I thought you were pulling our leg on the free space, but the fact that you don’t play Bingo on the reg, is not a bad thing

Free space is a spot on any Bingo card that you get to fill in for free to make it a bit easier to get a "bingo!" So, not specific to Murakami.
Any plans to read the Empire of the Vampire sequel? Loved that first review 😂

@@rororeads Will keep an eye out, should make a nice change of pace from all the booker stuff.
I always find it interesting the criticism Murakami receives, yet Stephen King is sexist and fat shames, but it's never really mentioned.
Has anyone ever told you that you look like Martin Freeman? Sorry i just had to ask 😅
@@bronteeZ they haven’t. Haha. I do get Chris o Dowd a lot.
Hi Andy! I always look forward to your reviews and this weekend two reviews in two days? It’s already Christmas for me 🙌🤩🎁🪄
