      Hahahahahahah sorry you can't add seats and larger trunk but tesla is making a new car with a 250 range per charge that's around 30k. I believe it's coming out next year as well.

    Once I was satisfied with my research, and I made the decision to buy, I narrowed down my choices to the Honda Fit and the Nissan Versa Note. In the end, I bought the 2015 Nissan Versa. However, it was not the Versa Note. I bought the sedan version. It is the SL trim.
    This is a great buy. After test-driving both the Note and the sedan versions of the Versa, I chose the sedan. In my opinion, It has less road noise and it seemed a bit more comfortable. At 5'11" and 233 lb, I find both the front and rear of the vehicle comfortable. One of the main reasons I did not buy the Honda Fit, in spite of it's versatility and glowing reviews, was the rather uncomfortable driver seat. While it has plenty of leg room for the back passengers, the front seats do not travel far back enough for me, making me feel somewhat cramped, even with the driver seat pushed all the way back. The Versa does not have this problem. After pushing the driver seat all the way back, I went to check out the amount of leg room for a rear passenger my size. It still had sufficient leg room to make me sit comfortably in the back. Now, this is huge for me. Matter of fact, the rear seat in the Versa sedan is more comfortable than the one in the Nissan Sentra. As far as I am concerned, the Versa, as well as many other sedans that are regarded as 5-passenger vehicles, is a 4-passenger car, not 5.
    Besides pricing, rear leg room is one of the reasons I did not consider such sub-compact cars as the Ford Fiesta, the Chevy Sonic, the Toyota Yaris, the Mini Cooper, the Fiat 500C Cabrio, the Kia Rio, the Hyundai Accent, and the Scion iQ.
    Trunk space is plenty in the Versa. You can fold down the rear seats even to increase trunk space.
    Because I have the SL trim, I have a navigation system (which I really do not care about as I love those aftermarket Garmin navigation systems), a rear view camera, and of course cruise control. There are lower trims of the Versa that do not have cruise control (and this is a shame - it should have been standard for all trims). Yes, cruise control is a must-have for me. I absolutely cannot buy a car in this day and age without cruise control. Matter of fact, in 2015, I believe a rear view camera, Bluetooth, and cruise control should be standard for all vehicles, no matter how cheap.
    The Versa is simple, but well made. It does not have automatic headlights (you have to turn the headlights on and off every time); the visor is short and inadequate; there is no dual climate zones; seat adjustment is all manual; there is no center console to store things (and given its size, this is a good thing as the console would have eaten up space and made the front tight). But I can manage with these shortcomings.
    The radio is very good. I really like the way the Bluetooth works. As long as I have Bluetooth on on my phone, the radio can automatically reactivate music from my phone after turning the car off and on again. I can see what I'm playing on my phone on the car's touchscreen monitor.
    I've read that this car does not have a lot of power and that it is slow. Really! Power to do what and slow in comparison to what? It has plenty of power to drive the vehicle and at whatever speed you want to go. The speedometer maximum speed is 140 m/h. The engine has plenty of power to drive you this fast (of course, you don't wanna do this) for as long as you want. It accelerates just fine. It drives like any decent, modern car as far as I am concerned.
    Nissan has shown that it can make a decent and affordable car that is able to take people from point A to point B with the comfort and convenience you find in more expensive cars. I know a little bit about interior car space, convenience, and comfort. I've owned a 2009 Chrysler 300C (with a 5.7 liter hemi engine, fully loaded); In 2012, I bought the 2012 Hyundai Sonata (the Limited trim, fully loaded) for my wife; and I have a 2014 GMC Savana conversion van. This 2015 Nissan Versa sedan is my first Nissan and my first small car. It rides and drives well. It is comfortable. The features in the SL trim are adequate for what I need in a car for my daily commute. As far as fuel economy goes... you already know about that. I love this car.

      @owensmith2291 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So it's been 5 years, are you still using this car? If so I am curious about how it's holding up. Any issues with the CVT that everyone seems to gripe about?

    • @Kpangolo
      @Kpangolo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@owensmith2291 Yep. I'm still using it. A few weeks ago, I had the bearings replaced. The old bearings went bad, causing horrible road noise. Goodyear fixed it. And cumbaya again.
      Well, things have changed a bit since I bought the car. Tech has advanced, and the integration of tech with automotive engineering should make me consider buying a newer car. But I haven't gone there yet. You know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    Getting this as my first car. I’m 21 and need one asap to do Uber as a flexible job during my last two semesters in college. I guess it’s better than an American made car. I’m also on a very tight budget and can’t be too picky about what I want. I would’ve loved to have my first car be something special like a Camaro or something nice looking. But I gotta be realistic about my financial situation. And Japan never disappoints so wish me luck

    I just went from a 2014 Nissan Sentra to this exact model. I have only put about 22 miles on so far and I like it. I will miss the sports mode on the Sentra, but I think that this is a decent replacement. It is small for a big guy like me.

    Enjoyed the video. Just bought a 2014 Versa SV with 4,000 miles that was used as a dealer service loaner car. Bought it for $13,500 and it is essentially like new. For the price, this car is an outstanding buy. Rear leg room is amazingly roomy and the trunk large. Corners nice, driver visibility is good, easy to drive, comfortable and turning radius is tight. Interior materials do not look cheap to me. No, it definitely does not have rocket ship speed or acceleration but it is adequate for my needs. But hey, it gets 40mpg highway! I researched and looked for a long time and could not find a new car at this price point that offers so much.

    I bought this in November 2011 as a re-designed 2012 model. At first, it seemed to be a good value. Thank God I got the extended warranty since the transmission failed at 60K miles. If you research it, you will see multiple people with the same issue. They replaced it with a rebuilt transmission, and I am up to 130K miles and it is beginning to jerk again. I don't really see the benefit of a CVT. A few more MPG is not worth the lack of acceleration and the feeling that you are driving a lawn mower. I just made my last payment so I'm paying myself the $400/month to save up for a down payment on something I actually enjoy driving.

    • @kcmaldonado3948
      @kcmaldonado3948 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** This was actually my first automatic - I normally get 5 speeds - so thank God I got the extended warranty, it paid for the transmission. It's an odd configuration that jerks and causes high engine RPMs while looking for the right belt/pulley. Never again.

      +Kevin Cody My girlfriend just bought one a 2015 SV model brand new back in August after her 2005 Chevy Trailblazer which she had since 2006 had a blown tire and caused her to lose control and crash it into a concrete barrier. Thankfully she walked away without a scratch but I honestly think she was in a rush when she decided to buy this car because she didn't want to keep the rental car she had for a few days despite me being by her side the whole time and me knowing more about cars than she did and helping her find a suitable replacement she would be happy with. A day before this she was about to get a 2015 Chevy Trax but said no to it because the rear cargo area was too small. The Sad part is she's paying $18k for this car about $445 a month, wants only something brand new not used me personally i'm fine with a used car, and the worst part I think if she had took her time she would've gotten something better she wouldn't mind paying a car note again on after so long.

    I just rented this car from Hertz. Mine is automatic with power windows ect. The better than base model with cd player and air. I went to Teaxas New Mexico and Arizona. This car gets a solid 35 mpg or better on the highway. It has better seats and good leg room. It is really bad in the wind I would never buy one. This thing is all over the road at Texas speed limits. It was a rental so I can not complain too much other tha poor stability in wind. Try following a big truck and this thong will shake you to death. The rental has 6213 miles.

    Nissan's subcompact Versa sedan is disappointing, with a noisy and cheap interior. The engine drones as the car gathers speed, and the continuously variable transmission accentuates engine noise. Handling, though secure, lacks agility. The ride is compliant but jumpy. To its credit, the rear cabin is relatively roomy and fuel economy is commendable at 32 mpg overall. Changes for 2015 include new interior refinements and exterior styling. Reliability has been average. The Versa scored a poor in the IIHS small-overlap crash test.
    >owner satisfaction abysmal
    >major body integrity, power equipment reliability issues, major brake issues
    >owner satisfaction rating is a 42, below even the kia fucking rio
    >Grating engine noise is the overwhelming impression of driving the Versa.
    >The Versa's ungainly handling feels out of place in a small car. Its softly tuned suspension allows a lot of body lean in corners and makes the handling feel imprecise. The steering provides little feedback.
