As Rob mentioned Peter Youngs "soul cellar" on Capital Radio at the time, it started as 30 minutes and eventullay was 1 hour long. Pete had great jingles from the 60s on the show , and always plugged the Kent albums as they were released at the time . Probably helped promote them a lot!
Richard Barnes, who did the Mods book from 79 , is a friend of Pete Townsend .Hes been interviewed a few times over the years for different docs
Another great collection of memories and stories, I always say my record collection is my diary of my life, each will have some sort of memory, where I 1st heard it or bought it etc.
Jordan and Rob, This is class, upbeat, jolly fab, not just for today, but a great social record. We all have different perceptions, from different times and indeed different attitudes. The challenge is when some one really believes their word and opinion is the last in the universe, we wouldnt mind if it was positive, embracing, edifying, and im so glad I felt that tonight. Love the 100 club stories and so glad to finally get there when possible, of course as in 1970 ahhhh the scene is finished lol Lets hope our wonderful cellar clubs survive ....not many left, The Sink, Liverpool, The 100 club London, and the Twisted Wheel, all world class in there own way, some want to destroy their vibe, and if i had listened to em, I would never have gone anywhere and had the time of my life the past 8 odd years as an ol born again soul retread, yes the good ol days are here and now, respects to then there where lol and respects to you guys and girls todays, love it the ol stories and todays stay well xxxxxx
