These are by far my favorite crawler. My dad worked for international harvester as did my grandpa. Scouts used to be all over our area. Unfortunately they all rotted away from winters here in Iowa/Illinois. Scout fan for life
Love that when you are driving it you have total control. Also appreciate the fact that you don’t talk while you are driving it. I truly love just watching it work. Also, I have a 1/24 micro crawler and had issue with it being slightly top heavy. I work at a tire shop and actually used some 1/4 ounce sticky weights and put them inside the body to help weigh it down and it worked perfectly. My gen 8 v2 should be here next week and I’m gunna do the same thing with that. Great videos man. Keep up the good work
When I get mine I think I’ll be doing the new suspension positions in one of your videos, tucking in rear and front bumpers and changing the rims! Thank you, love your videos.
Just got mine 2 days ago and it just didnt crawl slow and smooth as i hoped for with stock remote it made it want to jump and jerk hard on throttle witch made it hard to control in tight ruff spots so i changed the remote to a dumbo rc 6x and it made it drive like a whole different truck ,i didnt think that just a remote change wood have made that much of a difference but its a 100 percent better now ,i also think it runs best on 2s
Great Video Ricky! Perfect location and it goes without saying that you are a 'Crawlmaster' My green truck is still gonna take two weeks to get here sadly :( I just felt that the rear bumper was tucked in a little too much, might be good for crawling but takes away the scale look, but your truck your choice! Will def try the new shock positions and the front bumper.
One of the best deals in rc's,don't know why anybody would buy any other crawler when starting out.Price, availability, upgrades, and it performs right outta the box.I think i just sold myself, thx for sharing How many of these have u got now?
Also bring the bumper back out it's not sitting flush in front and will come off when you take a fall man . Trim the rear to bring the rear bumper out a notch and it will all look flush
I don't now how many times I have seen this great video now. Its so great and relaxing. I have one question though. Is the part of the video when you drive after you changed to a brushless motor? It moves so soft. Hope to get one like this one day. Always wanted a rc car...
Still lovin' your Scout videos! I've got one coming and have tried to find the interior like yours but can't locate it. Any chance they're still out there somewhere? Also, did you do the Redcat lighting system on your rig or ?? Looking good!
TRX4 Sport can go ANYWHERE, easy to maintain, nothing much to break, easy to crawl but needs an upgrade to a 400 brushless servo - Gen8 Axe needs nothing upgraded, comes with a brushless motor that will last, makes you work for the crawl is a lot of fun, strongest parts, smoothest drive, comes with an interior, good for the money, already has upgraded parts and the FS GT5 controller - Gen8 V2 is a bit top heavy, more scale, and like the Axe really brings out your driving skills, no upgrades needed ... you’ll love any of these three - if the Gen8 Axe is too pricey go for the TRX4 Sport! Axial is a bit expensive for what it is, it has a nice body, an interior but can’t take a beating, have to baby it
Just seeing these comments now, but if you're still looking for lights, I use this in different colors EDGELEC 50pcs 12 Volt 5mm LED Lights, Pre Wired 7.9 Inch DC Diffused Colored Lens ➤www.amazon.com/dp/B07NPR573N?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
I didn't use lenses, I used a different kit that had red brake lights. But I know exactly what you're talking about. Here's a quick fix using what you have - You can switch two of the white bumper lights with two red brake lights - cut two of the red brake lights then solder or twist & tape the white bumper lights to where you took out the red. The brake lights on the body has red lenses so the white light will look red.

If you want a real and unmatched crawler you should try the Absima CR 3.4 Khamba. Any other scale crawler is like a toy in comparison. And by the way: Why this one is called V2 when it is 99% identical to the first gen 8?
No damage whatsoever .. after every run, I wash it down, spray it down with WD40, grease the joints if needed, use conformal coating on the receiver if needed .. no issues on any of my rigs and I always take them in saltwater
Love the video. such a great-looking rig. you really did a good job on it. that interior and the passengers came out great. Ricky you are the best at the beach crawl. I love all your Gen 8 videos
Thanks brother 🤝 that means a lot! Tried making the vids shorter for you guys, never know who will like what, so appreciate hearing it from you 🤝 Thanks again Jack
It's a pretty car and the colour is ingenious! You show wonderful pictures, but the video is a little too long for my taste. ;-) That is not meant to be mean. But look at the car for 30 minutes at a time ...
If you look at 25:52 you’ll see the tires gripping the rocks with the way I have them turned .. the tires turned the other way is for mud to throw it away from the drive path
@@RickysGarageVibes I'm super new to this world(about 3 weeks), I have a gen 8 V2 and was looking at adding some weight. I found mixed answers on the internet. I added club5 husky links, 8mm brass wheel spacers, and about 50g to each wheel. Is that too much? I'd appreciate you're input. Thanks dude
I wood not buy any rc from redcat mine came broke remote was broke diffs had no grease all gearing was dry of grease still waiting on redcat to respond back bern 2wks

Get one while they’re still out, you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of it brother 🤝
You are a great Driver. Skills. Great crawl. Thanks for the tips out of the box.

Thanks Deven 🤝 means a lot! I’ll try your idea on the weights. Let me know how you like the rig when you get it!
Love this rig. Went all treal brass and dropped that heavy body, thing is a tank
Good choices Garry ...
When I get mine I think I’ll be doing the new suspension positions in one of your videos, tucking in rear and front bumpers and changing the rims! Thank you, love your videos.
Thank you Hi! Tell me how it works for you

You have to make it do what you need it to do! Your style! Great adjustments Darrell 🤝 glad you got it where you want it to be
The original one came with the spare tire and a spare tire mount for the back of the truck, the wheel could also be used on the truck!!!
True, it was a nice touch then they stopped ...
This is true

Have to make it your own and make it do what you need it to do 🤝 thanks brother always trying to learn and improve, appreciate you!
This was very calming to watch. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank CJ appreciate it man 🤝
Excellent video Congratulations
Thanks Eduardo 🤝 appreciate it
Appreciate you saying this @eduardootero8560🤝!
When you cut the zip tie you put a huge slash in the running board, right on the pretty part that says redcat 😭
Things happen, fun still ensues 😆 great eye man
Buen video!!! Escúchame, donde compró la parte interna? Muy buena
Ooooh that fast editing got me like 🤤
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Appreciate it @stw9495🤝!
Great drive mate...🙂👍😘
Thanks Nerrix!
The hot gluing of the leds was unnecessary the truck comes with led screw in retaining clips. Otherwise nice work.
Thanks Peter, I take my rigs in water so I blocked the holes

How many of these have u got now?
Agreed!!! So much that we got two Gen8 V2s, the original Gen8 and the Gen8 Axe! You know the vibes, go ahead and get one, you’ll love it!
What hard body do you thing would look good as a replacement for the Gen 8 V2 body?
Great question 🤝 Haven't looked for another body for it but I'll share when I find some
This is my dream rc
Some day man .. it’s a great value for the price
I like both gen7 and 8
Me too Quintin
Also bring the bumper back out it's not sitting flush in front and will come off when you take a fall man . Trim the rear to bring the rear bumper out a notch and it will all look flush
the change helped me approach climbs I couldn’t otherwise 🤝 I hear you 🤝 thanks for the suggestion
15:15 Hell of a way to do your laundry. Is that Tide? Great video👍
I have the same scout thanks for the tip on the shocks good idea. Cheers
Cant move the front bumper my wench is in the way.
No problem man 🤝 thanks and I have a few more upgrades just editing the video now
Dude, kick that wench to the curb if she's in the way.....
Thank you @ziggyzbeak 🤝!!
Such a sweet truck!
Agreed brother ... thanks man🤝🤝
Oh, the poor body! I was just cringing so much when you were dragging on the rocks in that crack😬
Otherwise loved the video!
Glad you liked it!!! 🤝luckily these RCs are pretty tough
nice job but the tires are on backwards
the treads are for traction, so they are positioned for the best traction for the terrain we're crawling on
Can you do speed test, and Is that a 3 cell lipo?
I don't now how many times I have seen this great video now. Its so great and relaxing. I have one question though. Is the part of the video when you drive after you changed to a brushless motor? It moves so soft. Hope to get one like this one day. Always wanted a rc car...

Nicely done,

You come from down Jamaica way?.
Close by ... Grenada 🇬🇩
Should I get the redcat gen8 v2 , trx4 sport or the axial SCX 10 II?
Thanks @farhanizzad8590 🤝!!
where you get the interior.. can i get the link for interior?
Seems to be hard to find now ... It's the Pro-Line PL-C Clear Interior
The front schock can not be moved the way you say it will toch the frame
Got mine, purple ofcource :) did the mods you showed. Now which light kit do you use?

What red lenses are you using on the rear bumper. Im going to install the light kit but i hate the clear lights out back

tell me how it turned out Robert. .. if you run into issues, let me know, I have a vid clip with this
Candy apple red nail polish.

I was sure I didn’t want the purple until I got the green ... so I got both 😆
I have another unbox vid with the green one! th-cam.com/video/gp20Tbg3dlI/w-d-xo.html
Will watch the Green video too
Thanks brother 🤝 both look great, can’t go wrong with either
can't go wrong with either @mattiasrc🤝
Awesome. What interior did you use
Hey man, it’s from Proline #3337-00 ... fits well!
It's been discontinued and I'm looking for a replacement too, will mention if I find them
Great 👍😊👍
Thanks man 🤝

unfortunately the battery is separate @kohanadcock721🤝

Where did you find the interior?
Hey Joe this interior came from Proline #3337-00 🤝

What is the battery called
I think your tires are on backwards
On purpose, for better traction for where I’m driving with them
