We recently were talking to a CM that used to work in undercover (plainclothes) security. Catching the people behind some of those pizza flyer scams was one of the assignments they worked on...Very interesting, all of it.

OMG The pizza flyer thing. We had those at the AoA back in 2015. And the last time we stayed in Florida (off Disney property), we discovered a pizza flyer while we had been at Old Town for an hour, and we took it down to the front desk the next day. The hotelier told us he was glad we didn't fall for the scam and that the people delivering the flyers are looking to also break into rooms and have even pointed guns at him when he tried to get them to leave. These pizza flyer guys are some scary people. It's even more than just stealing credit card info.

I convinced my wife on our last trip not to do park hopper. We did 9 park days, one park at a time. We found we rushed less, saw more and our enjoyment level was enhanced. We did three days in Epcot. On all three days we walked around world showcase three times to space out food (we were there during food and wine) and attractions. The only way it could have been better was if they still had all the activities at Journey to Imagination! We stopped wanting the dining plan because we kept over eating and we still would finish our trip getting a bunch of snacks to bring home. We didn't do it on the last trip and we felt we were better off for it.

Every meal, thoughtful picks at food and wine, enjoyed the attractions more than usual. Most of all, we enjoyed each other in a shared experience. I wanted to try trails End which was fine for me but not so much for my wife. We took the boat back to MK during the show in the middle of Bay Lake. Our Captain got permission for us to be super close as we were the only people on the boat. Talk about a memory!

I think the general rule for single rider lines is...if the rides seats are in rows of three you are going to get in much quicker as statistically groups are in even numbers of 2 or 4. However (such as Aerosmith) where rides are 2 seat rows, it is going to take much longer!

One of those never expire tickets were those given out on 9/11. They had large quantities made in the event they should ever need to evacuate a park, and kept them locked up in a safe. It was pretty impressive how they were able to successfully evacuate everyone within 30 minutes. Of course, in an age of no smart phones, expensive mobile phone minutes, and long distance and roaming fees, I’m sure guests were pretty confused and angry as to why they all had to leave. There was no time to explain. They had no idea what truly was happening until they saw it in TV or heard about it on the radio.

I was teaching a Disney Institute seminar at what was then the Disney Institute campus (now Saratoga Springs) on 9/11 when someone came in, pulled me aside and informed me that "something" had happened in NY and DC, and I had to get these people out of my class, and send them backnto their resorts. All of us teaching seminars on 9/11 were vanned over to Epcot to help evacuate Guests out of the Park. I swept Guests from American Adventure to the entrance, simply telling them that we had to evacuate all the Parks at WDW, to go back to their hotels, and that more information would be forthcoming. WE did not even know at that point the full extent of what had happened. It was a terrifying, tragic time, and yes, those undated passes spoke to the unknown of those horrifying events.

I've been watching your videos for at least a few years now. It's somewhat specialized, but I would love a review of some of the more wheelchair accessible dining locations. Yes! All for this. I remember being jostled around Chefs de France with how the seating was arranged, but I’ve somehow always lucked out as having room in Le Cellier. Liberty Tree Tavern has bathrooms upstairs, but they do have an accessible bathroom downstairs. If a lot of disabled people need to use it at once, it’s inconvenient though. I would love a restaurant accessibility video.

What I do remember, (because it seemed odd) was at the end of the ride the Cast Member asked me if I wanted ride it again (SURE!). He took me around some kind of back way and I got on again. The only reason I could think of is because I knew where the ride camera was and had a great picture.

Last time I used the single rider line at RRC it worked out great but it was also spring break. Super crowded, stand by line was at 100 minutes I think. I ended up waiting 30-45 minutes for single rider. Not super fast but definitely better. The single rider for Millennium Falcon, however, I would not recommend. It has always gotten me on the ride super quick but you miss all of the preshow and most of the super cool details that most people are there for. I don’t mind not getting a pilot seat personally - I’m not a gamer and I don’t want to mess up someone else’s ride through by crashing into everything.

    • @mousepariah3884
      @mousepariah3884 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I honestly forget the pre-show because I have gone single rider like 10 times for every 1 time I went through the main line but this is a really good point!a
I agree with not caring about the pilot seat though. Engineer is my jam.
JUst gets frustrating when you have pilots that can't reach the controls (how is this not accounted for during the seatbelt check) or gunners that want to film not hit their buttons

When I was staying at Disney last, somebody hurriedly shoved the pizza flier under the door. At first, it scared me, then I saw the flier, and it was using some of the most ridiculous stock pizza images ever on it. I decided to look them up online, and it was a huge scam. The pizza place had gone through three different name changes in the past 2 years and the pictures of food were horrible. One person wrote a review and showed their spaghetti and meatballs they ordered. They had 1 pathetic meatball in their spaghetti without any sauce. The pizzas looked atrocious as well. After, they all complained that they were charged crazy high fees for their food. Never use these fliers, they're awful.

    DFB is AWESOME. Thanks AJ.
We've always had good results with single rider lines, whether at WDW or DLR. Last time we did Smugglers Run (I think it was DLR), my adult son and I were in the single riders line and ended up together, both sitting in the front seats. The family of 4 we were with, had little kids who didn't want to do it and the parents wanted to stay close to the kids. Sometimes you just get lucky.
Also we've always had great luck with single riders at the Matterhorn and Radiator Springs Racers. (Yes Disneyland Resort is our favorite to visit, plus the flight from Colorado is way shorter.)
Finally, even though they are costly, we have to do park hoppers, for the simple reason that we almost always want to spend at least part of every day (usually after dark) at Magic Kingdom/Disneyland Park.

I asked a desk clerk once about them and she said yeah they were a scam to get your credit card number and to just trash them. This brings to question how Disney prices their park tickets. I wonder if they factor in how long the park is open when setting the pricing. Seems a bit unfair, especially when there is no guarantee that crowd levels will be lower on days when hours are cut short.

One of the worst scams is the limited virtual queue forcing you to buy a fast pass if you are not awake at 7am and lucky enough to get a place. Had to spend $40 dollars on 2x fast passes to ride Tron once! Thats after paying £630 for 2 week Disney passes per person! Total rip-off. Plus the Tron coaster is awful, if this happens to anyone else then I recommend just not riding it, total disappointment of a ride.

One of the problems with pin trading is frequently the pins you have to select from are ones you can buy yourself.
When Disney first started pintrading, some cast members would get unique pins that were not available for purchase. They were required to trade these. At that time you could find some really unique pins. We have a collection of pins that are movie posters from many of Disney’s animated movie made before the 80s. It was worth trading to get hoses pins.
What I see now are just ordinary pins.
Be aware that pin trading can be an expensive hobby. Don;t spend the money unless the pin is something you really like.

Pin trading.... If you are a Disney Movie Club member, then you have access to some of the least expensive pins available. With the added bonus of free shipping. And they tend not to be as common as those sold in park. With the advent of Disney+, I have not actually bought a movie on the DMC in years. But, I maintain my membership in order to restock my traders. I live in Florida and am an Annual Passholder. So I visit frequently. I also have an extensive pin collection. These pins trade one-for-one with any other pin. Regardless of value. So I almost always come out ahead.
So much so that I've occasionally just given a pin to some kid who has shown an interest in my DMC traders. Cuz it's Disney. And seeing a kid's smile just makes the day better.

The must buy for everyday of the trip is why I refuse to do the park hopper, unless you are only there for a day or two. If I'm there four days I would rather spend a full day in each park individually and do all it has to offer rather than hop from park to park every day and waste valuable time exiting one park, then getting between the parks, and entering a new park. I'd rather save the one to two hours by enjoying the park I'm in. That's just me. Others may very well enjoy hopping to break up their day. Also-- Disney is one of the few trips where it is much more convenient and safer to do everything through Disney or an accredited travel agent. I feel safer trusting Disney itself than buying tickets through EBay or something just to save a few bucks.

Smugglers run in cockpits really should be designated per party. The first time we rode we were paired up with another couple, and that couple really pressured us about how good we were at video games because they were in the back and we were pilots.
So much so that my best friend didn’t want to be the pilot again when she had the option because she felt she was impacting other guests experiences. And it’s not like it doesn’t function when you don’t have two other people in the back of the room because later on on the trip we wrote it again with just our party because that was how the cast member chose to split it up. And I understand nobody wants to spend any longer in line and they have to but if you’re gonna spend that time in line, when did you wanna have the most fun experience and not be at the mercy of a five-year-old being the captain? And I say that, because my five year old literally didn’t get dedicated as the captain at one point. I don’t know maybe it’s just me.

I live in Florida, been to Disney countless times and never had an issue. Don't take the cheap route. And don't try to fit your trip into two days.
A decent Disney trip is an investment. If you're gonna do it, have the funds, save your money and it'll be worth it!!
Its simple, we book inside Disney when we go, we purchase our tickets through Disney, we book all our dinning and shows and all through Disney. It's more expensive, but worth every penny. And no, I don't work for Disney. I just like visiting there.
The way we go is for at least 4 days so we can rest in between. One day to check in, second day one park, third day hang in hotel, and next day another park, and so on...taking the Disney buses are awesome! It's just a whole other experience altogether...

I have no love for The Walt Disney Company, and I refuse to spend a dime on ANYTHING Disney since they fired my little company, and a number of others, in one fell swoop in the early 1990’s. “The Happiest Place On Earth”? Hardly. Ask an employee (when they’re not at work).

Good find , BUT double check with some of the perks like extended after hours, Dolphine is actually not owned by Disney so they are not considered premium Disney properties.

Ha! I was wondering why Disney Studios seemed like it wasnt so crazy compared to the other parks, the park closed early that day! It was pretty great we got to ride the rides we wanted to multiple times without much wait at all.

  • @smb123211

LOL I thought you meant that the park itself was the scam. (That would be right but still...) Can't get spending thousands for bad food, mediocre accommodations, long lines and other "fun". We went to Epcot one month after opening and it was so different, so visionary I almost weep seeing how it has devolved. It upheld the scientist, engineer, thinker and artist, sought to entertain and educate. Now it's simply a promotion of Disney movies with lots of kiosks pushing junk and super-expensive snacks. And of course, the constant construction.

Promotion of Disney Movies? How so? Cause if I remember correctly theres just a ride featuring Frozen, one with Nemo and a newly added Rattatoille one!... What am I missing? How is the park promoting the movies exactly?

@@rogerayala6878 I'm obviously older. EPCOT was revolutionary, devoted to the idea of a future community and a united world. Over the years commercialization began rearing its ugly head as the family friendly Disney became a huge corporate behemoth. The goal (now) is money. EPCOT bears little relation to the original (maybe its what folks want).
They've been rebranding DW. It had become a nightmare - absurd prices, construction 24/7, crummy food, mediocre rooms, long lines and increasing work for the visitor. The idea was higher prices would shorten lines but actually make more money. Then they got political and it all went to hell.

There’s something else I noticed the light sabers at each Disney park. The thing is that a lot of people would like to buy those light sabers without going to the park and for good reason they don’t want to spend $2000 to buy one item that’s only worth $250. But because Disney makes these park exclusive that means the actual price for these light sabers goes up to $600-$700 for a $250 light saber. The other problem is ordering the light saber from a third-party and then having the third-party go to the park to find that somebody had already purchased the light saber that the person online paid $700 for.

@xxWinterSpacexx Because no matter HOW "bad" the title of the video IS, upon WATCHING it, the content does not give adverse opinions against the parks or companies, but instead, EDUCATES people who go, or who have gone, or are PLANNING to go, of planning tips, changes in menus, prices, acceptable protocol, etc., which is NEVER as adverse as the title of the video has indicated that the content will be, for "the clicker".. therefore, it simply comes across as an opportunity to promote. Disney feels more generic and the long wait times in the hot sun does not make for happy times. I managed to get on more rides at Universal Studios and overall my satisfaction was much higher. If you are really about the characters and fairy tale nostalgia, by all means go to Disney World, but if you are about fun and want to get your money’s worth head over to Universal Studios, you won’t be disappointed.

Funny thing summer 23, everything was going fine due to the research and planning, popped into epcot guest services to cool down and make a call to the car rental centre to book a time for a shuttle later in the hol for when we had a rental. Next to me was a fellow brit, stressed to hell, complaining about lines, security check in, couldn't get reservations for anywhere they wanted ro eat. Was going nuts. I visited Disney Paris in 2018 - I was suuuuper excited, I wanted to visit it for years. And I was really disappointed. No Mickey nor Miney (whatever) walking around, after EVERY ride a shop to buy merchandise.. and at the end of the park a big shop with all the merchandise combined. I don't know... the rides weren't that great (didn't except them though) and the overall design was average at best. Prices for food and beverage we're okayish. Buying a 0,5l Coke for nearly 4€ hurts, but it's doable. We stayed for two days and slept in a nearby hotel, cause the DL hotels are so expensive :/
Disneyland in the USA looks like a big deal though.
