Thanks Matt, What a fantastic way to show off the van. I'm convinced that not only are EV:s the future but so is this new way of showing and selling them. This 'User Manual' video is excellent.
Thanks Dan. I make these 'user manual' videos for all the EVs, but just never got around to the eD3 one until now. It's a far better way of sharing the information as it's all too much to absorb at the collection/handover point.
Do you maybe know how to reset the service nag screen on this car? Went into service last summer but they somehow didnt properly reset the service I guess as less than 6 months and 4000km after that it already appeared again. Is there a cheap chinese OBD Scanner that can do the trick or maybe another hint as to how this can be achieved? Thanks!
Thanks Matt for a cracking video. I’ve just taken delivery of mine today and really appreciated your intro. There’s one thing I can’t seem to sort though: the loud reversing siren - it’s deafening! Don’t suppose you know a way to disable (or at least quieten significantly) do you? I have to park in a residential area and would like to remain friends with my neighbours if possible! Thanks in advance!
That sounds like an aftermarket siren. Its pretty common to have them fitted. Normally, they have a "night mode". Select reverse, then back to neutral, then reverse again will normally turn it off. Or get underneath and remove it or wrap tape around it and that will silence it.
Hi Matt. I'm currently thinking about buying a used eDeliver 3 and thus am trying to soak up all the available infos on it. There are a few questions where I couldn't find reliable infos on, maybe I wasn't looking hard enough? Anyway, maybe you could answer them for me or send me in the right direction. Also they could be interesting to make a video on as well. 1: What would you tell me to look for on the used one? What are things that the previous owner could have done wrong? 2: Is there any way to set a charge limit? I'd like to not constantly charge it to 100%, I would prefer to set it to 80% as I do with my other car. 3: Is there any service schedule? Is there stuff to look after after driving a certain time/mileage or would you say, no, just drive? 4: What are things that can go wrong and is parts availability good enough in the meantime? Thanks a lot in advance! Cheers
1. Nothing to look out for really & nothing users can do wrong, apart from normal van wear & tear. 2. Not from memory. However, its not needed. Let the BMS look after the battery for you. There's plenty of proof that limiting your charge to 80% has no noticeable effect in the real world. Also charging to 100% (on AC) allows for the cells to balancing, so not allowing this can have a detrimental effect. You have to remember, charging to 100% is not actually 100%. 3. Yes there is a service schedule and like all manufacturers with dealerships (all expect Tesla), its annually. But like all EVs, nothing to service on them except cabin filter and brake fluid. You can find SAIC dealers here saicmaxus.co.uk/, but of course any garage can service them or using Cleevley EV mobile service is the most convenient option. 4. Not experienced any issues with them so far, nor needed any parts yet. Parts should be very reasonably priced as I've found that MG parts are (see th-cam.com/video/qKgb5NXr7ow/w-d-xo.html) and MG and Maxus are brands from SAIC Motors.
Thanks Matt, i ve got a new one since a week, i'm in the testing phase. Are you sure that the remaining charging time is displayed on the instrument cluster screen because in my case, nothing appear ? Only the electric red socket is lighted and the orange charging symbol flash. When I put my key at the "on" position, i can only see the state of charge "SOC" during a charging time, not really a remaining charging time... Have you got some returns about it ?
Does the van allow heating while plugged on the net, so not using the battery before leaving for a long drive? I understood the remotely starting the heating is not possible Like PSA and nissan NV200.
Correct, these do not have a pre-conditioning scheduler. However, the heater is so rapid, its not a big deal. As for allowing heating and more importantly starting when plugged in, I can't remember. I don't have one here to try. But I have a feeling they don't.
Did you say yours is a 35kwh battery? When you charge it to 100% what is the estimated millage displayed? I as because mine I've just got is registered 35kwh. Yet I charged it on a CCS charge at BP Pulse I had approx 20% and it delivered me 41kwh of charge and displayed expected 146miles of driving.
The 35kWh vans display 99 miles on a full charge. In my experience, the display always seems to show 99 miles regardless of the recent driving economy, even though its possible to do around 140-150 miles if driven economically. You must have a 52kW model then as these display 150 miles on a full charge (yet will do ~200) and if you've put 41kWh back in on a rapid charge, just shows you have the larger pack. I've got a video going live on the channel in the next few weeks which shows you how to identify the pack size on the eD3/EV30.
@@smithia6 Dealers frequently make mistakes when registering new vehicles. In my experience, about 70% of all registrations have errors, particularly with the vehicle weights. Check your battery size by looking at the sticker on the battery pack and photograph it to provide proof to the DVLA. Then apply to change the V5. You need to do this as otherwise selling it would be tricky. Or get the dealer to do it for fix their mistakes.
It's easy to fit your own door straps though. Ask for examples in the Facebook group. But you're right, you shouldn't need too. I've not noticed the turning circle being poor. It doesn't seem any worse than other similar sized vans to me.
Forced Labour used in components of SAIC vans? - see Sheffield Hallam 'Driving Force ' report and SAIC links to Xinjiang region suppliers and the assumptions buyers should use about forced labour in that region
Just shows you how cheap them vans are made No temperature control No rear door straps/catches No hood hinges 😂 I was considering to buy this or the Citroen dispatch and purchased dispatch because of 3 seats now i can see there would of been allot more annoying things to leave with
A Dispatch is a bigger and better van, but then its also more expensive. Its from the glass above. The new Maxus eDeliver 7 which launches tomorrow at the NEC Commercial Vehicle Show will be the competitor van to the Dispatch and the other Stellantis clones.

Might be an idea to use the brakes once a week to keep the rust off the discs
Yes, you're correct.

Another great Video

Worth noting that in strong regen the brake lights do come on unlike some of their competitors.
I thought they did on the Maxus, unlike the Stellantis vans.

@@GoGreenAutos Amazing, thanks!
Wow, the part price differences are just out of this world... Lets hope Maxus is like MG in this regard.
How do you turn the light on the speedo back on ours has turned off
I haven't had a eD3 for a long time, but from memory, isn't the backlighting adjusted with one of the columns within the instrument cluster?

It may be now different with later software???
