Hi...I was under the rear of my 2002 r53 s, I found a electric switch approx. 1.5 x 1.5 inches with a plastic arm and a ball stud.. it was not attached to the link arm....which is about 2.5 inches long and mounted to frame.this is located left rear above and behind wheel. What is it? It has bmw markings on it.
So figure I’d try this mine had a rubber covering over the bolt took it off and found a huge amount of rust the head and washer is completely shot I hate this car at times

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Sorry, but I'm getting conflicting information when doing my research. Check out this video from KYB Europe where it states to use only 3 daN.m (dekametres, but that's only less than 10 ft.lb). th-cam.com/video/k3Jhwp7IhSI/w-d-xo.html Researching your video, I get about 41 ft-lb on that same Piston Rod nut (55 Nm torque). Have a great day!

I vehemently disagree.... the entire coil over for either rear side is $50 to avoid the pressing and replacing if the boot, bolt, bracket , and dampener. The front are $80 for either front side all on RockAuto I’m not affiliated with them but I always get my parts from them.
⚠ Attention! This video contains a mistake:
3:47 - the tightening torque is 30 Nm, not 55 Nm.
We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Very good commentary. Great vid also. One of the best.. Great job mate!!!
Got this to do on mine. Many thanks for the video - having the torque values for the bolts is a big help!

It's hard to tell from the description. It is recommended to refer to the technical documentation of your vehicle for an answer.

Doesn’t the poor guy have any power tools? 😢 A 1/2” cordless impact wrench would make the job easier

This video confirms that it's worth it to have someone do it for $400

I was thinking that this video confirms that it is worth to do it on my own. Strange.
