The northern Part of Germany like Schleswig Holstein and Mecklenburg kinda belonged to them vikings. So you could say we are definitely not far away from the vikings, except germany almost lost their sense for their elders. We sadly forgot them. You should make a trip to Schleswig Holstein, there are some Viking museums and a little viking village! They sell incredible tasty mead (Met) up there! Lucky thing i don’t live far away from the Ostsee.

If you don't...well, maybe have a talk with the Ancestors of the Norse people before you just go on and claim them as a part of your Wyrd.
The North has a Lot of really f*cked up stories about what centuries dead Ancestors are capable of doing to people who dishonor or insult them.
And if you're a Good person, I'm sure the Revenants will welcome you. The Northfolk have a long and respected tradition of Fostering, bringing worthy people into one's family, by Oath instead of by Blood.

@Haesten C its not cultural appropriation. As the Europeans conquered most of the known and unknown world, it is impossible to say you dont have SOME European blood in you. And besides, Odin and the other Aesir have HUNDREDS of bames across multiple different origins, going WAY further back than the Vikings. If you have Germanic in you, Odin is your God (Wotan). If you have Norwegian in you, Odin is your god (Odinn). And on and on for hundreds more. Odin is the God of All. As long as you are willing to follow, the AllFather will accept you.

If you are not slain in battle, but were an honorable person, then you will live with Freya in Fólkvangr. If you were not, then you will likely go to live with Hel in Helheim. If you die at sea, you will live under the sea in the hall of Ran.

As an Irishman I’ve never felt in love with anything more the past year I’ve been putting all of my thoughts and time into Norse mythology and viking history and it’s helped me so much in life I’m an Mma fighter and I used to have trouble gaining motivation before fights or training for fights and this past year this kind of music helped me so much I’ve found skald, wardruna, osi and the Jupiter and dzivia, Aurora, a couple more I can’t think of my head but if anybody has any other Nordic artists please comment below I’d love to hear more but even when I try to look for more artists I just come across a song I like and forget to search 😂

Much respect to Nordic mythology, music and old way of living and to their current ancestors. I’m full on Mexican, I train in a boxing gym in the states and they call me the Viking (probably because of my beard and aggressiveness during training) lol. I may not have any Nordic or European blood but I see being a Viking as a way of life, much respect. This music and chanting Nordic music pumps me up, what a great piece of history , legendary and wonderful music.

Even though I don’t have nordic roots, I am a European and albanian paganism is very similar with Viking pagan culture. Illyrians had a very similar lifestyle with Vikings and this might be a reason why this music heals my soul.

How did I learn Odin was calling me?
Well... I've always been strongly connected to his sacred animals - the wolf and the raven. Wolves have always been such a beautiful animal to me - prideful, powerful and beautiful among many other things. Ravens were so smart, beautiful and symbolic. I've always felt a connection to places where the Allfather's power is strongest. What really bolded my then-unexplained connection to the Allfather was when I went to this shop - and saw a statue of him. The girl there was devoted to all the gods, from Frey to Freyja, Odin to Loki. She had a bracelet of the Great Jormungandr, a ring of the Great Fenrir and an earring of the Great Hel. There, on the shelf, was a goblet with Loki's likeness carved into it and beside it was an almost-twin of Odin. I really liked the both of them - I could've bought them if we had the money. The goblets were 75$ apiece. I continued to stand in a still, hung awe at the very real presence of these two gods in these goblets. I knew that if I bought them, everything I would've put in the goblets would be an offering to the gods in question. Then I looked up, and sitting there beside a gorgeous statue of Loki, was a statue of Odin. I wanted it. I felt called to it - and after I left I couldn't stop talking about Odin. The statue of Loki was also pretty cool, he was standing with Fenrir under his cloak and Jormungandr around his neck. It was detailed - painted gorgeously with a realistic looking carve. It still wasn't as gorgeous as the less-detailed wooden Odin. Odin was sitting on his High Throne (which was decorated in runes) with Hugin and Munin on his shoulders, Gungnir over his shoulder and Geri and Freki either side of him. Every detail was accurate, and the longer I stared at it I KNEW this is what he looked like. I wanted it so bad - but that was another 75$ that we wanted to save for an altar once we finish re-doing my room. Ever since I saw that statue, I felt strongly connected to Odin. I DID leave the store with a bag of runes - and the first rune I pulled from the bag was Othilia (ᛟ) which is the rune of Odin. When I went to school speaking of the gods, several kids looked at me and they said "Your gods are fake - you will feel empty without the Lord". (I go to a catholic school) All I said was "You worship what you worship - the gods took me and filled me with an emptiness from refusing to believe in a higher power. They filled me with strength and comfort". Sure - no one has really talked to me since that incident, yet I've learned to grow used to solitude, and in my loneliness, I can consult in the gods whenever I can. This music seems to put me in a trance that allows the Aesir and Vanir to fill my soul and cure my emptiness I've felt for so long. Power to the Allfather, hail Odin and the gods of Vanaheim and Asgard.
To quote God of War (2018):
*"Find here our sacrifice, mighty Allfather, and deliver Midgard from Hel's wild hunt. Odin, wisest of all, whose breath gave life to Ask and Embla, first among our people, we beg your protection. Send forth your noble Valkyries and cull the deathless. Send forth dragons to consume the frigid horde. Save our souls that we may serve you evermore."*
I have this prayer copied in a notebook in both cursive and in Runes.

My Grandfathers Grandfather came from Norway to America, he homesteaded successfully in Montana for 3 years before he sent for his wife, he was very strong, the stories of his life are captivating, from Norway to America to WW1, I have the knife he used .
My Grandfather always told me Norse are stronger than most, the immune system as well a physical strength, that has been my experience as well, in 7th grade I beat men arm wrestling and had a 12th grade reading level, I played football and began on the Junior Varsity team 3rd string, until we all maxed our lifting, at age 15 I benched 225 and squatted 485 before they stopped me, next thing you know I am 1st string Varsity, lol. I can still lift the rear end of small front wheel drive cars entirely off the ground.
Years ago I was driving a tiny Honda car and was parkiig in the street of Old Sacramento which has wooden sidewalks and the restaurant windows faced the street, I had to lift the back end of my car over to get it into the spot and when we walked into the bar/ restaurant everybody was clapping, I had no idea I was being watched., I think when I can no longer beat most men arm wrestling and cant lift cars I will be old, but I am 59 now and still going strong, it was very rare the white guy who could compete with me..
