The Glass Lyrics
Lead you so far down
I could tell you’d never been
Told me that time’s near
And how it will change everything
I’m not so open like the window you are
The glass just reflects the scar
Told me that you had to leave
But how the fuck does that change anything?
Your glare is the faintest
No brightness to show
I made the best of what I thought was impossible
You were the spade I used to dig this hole
Blistered my skin to the bone
Swear all the pain’s done
No trace or tremor here
Or am I still numb? Have I been this whole year?
So let me bite down, feel the clench in my teeth
Till I come around then relapse and repeat
Then relapse and repeat
Your glare is the faintest
No brightness to show
I made the best of what I thought was impossible
You were the spade I used to dig this hole
Blistered my skin to the bone
Now you’re gone
Now you’re gone
Now you’re gone
Now you’re gone
Now you’re...

TSSF's drummer is the real mvp in this entire album, let alone just this song
dude has serious chops
Paddie Corley ryan torf ftw
Always thought the kid could play the hell out of dem drumms
Truest comment I've read... possibly ever
Check out this Drumcover... ;-)
Graduating year of 2016- my mother passed away that year and I was befriended by a group of skater guys who got me into this genre of music. They got me outside doing things that summer when I hardly wanted to get out of bed. Such bittersweet nostalgia…
💚 My dad used to despise my bmx and skateboarding friends…until my mother got cancer for the second time, and they showed up for me in more ways than you could possibly imagine. She’s doing just fine now but I can’t say it didn’t mess with my head quite a bit.
Respect to you dude. Sounds like you’re doing just fine!!
Glad they showed you perhaps one of the greatest bands of all time
How are you feeling now?
my condolences. The skate and hardcore scene has been the biggest influence in my life to keep me from doing something dangerous. I'll never be thankful enough.
"You were the spade I used to dig this hole
Blistered my skin to the bone" damn, son. real af.
Screaming these lyrics back at them while they're performing this is the best feeling ever
Everytime
No joke! I'm a serious metalhead and I was blown away when I saw them. So so fucking good
Ill never forget when parker asked what we wantd to hear. I was the only one yelling "the glass!!" And my dawg played it. I was stoked lol
whenever i hear tssf, they give me such a summertime nostalgic feeling
+Cornelius Witherspoon Jr. SAME!
Same here, like my first days at university.
YES
I just found out about this song and it was a cold day(in the summer) and it gives me more of a fall feeling? Idk haha
Cornelius Witherspoon Jr.
I listen to hardcore screamo but when the sun is out I get this strong feeling to listen to TSSF ha
This will always be the best TSSF song.
Truth. It's perfect from beginning to end.
fuck yes
and Parker's favorite TSSF song.
+Gyleigh Roa for good reason
one of my favorite from TSSF hell yeah !!!!
I dedicated this song to a friend of mine, that passed at 38 in early 2020, by an heart issue, while he was training younger boxers at the gym. He was good healthy overall, he usually lift 130+kg, he trains for boxing all days... so it was a death for wich we can't still get a reason, or we don't want to.
My city is roughly 100.000 people, and he was well known by everyone of our age and below. He was kind and humorous, he was used to listen at everyone's issues, there was always time for people around him. He loved people, he fighted dumbness, he was a fire-hearted, a real romantic. He was an artist, comedy master, sporty, unpredictable character. He faltered, sometimes, but he was one of a kind that: "I need to try it on my own skin, or I don't believe it".
After his death, we took his stuff from his room, as per his mother wish. We found over 200 pages of hand-written material, some letters to girlfriends, some are his thoughts, some are movie plots he imagined. We found that he also hand transcrived all sms from older phones, to avoid to lost them as the device goes dismissed. We found hundreds of photo, his artworks, and some comics, all by his hands. Also VHS of our birthdays parties. Apart from the comics, that he showed us when he made them, all the other stuff was pretty new and unexpected to see, or to see again after that many years and so well conserved. I still feel that sensation of reading his stuff with his voice in my mind.
All his material is loaded in a drive now, so it can be accessed to whoever knowed him and cares to read of his thought and adventures, or look at his pictures and art.
When his family know about what we did, they cried... is not something everyone would receive, it was a long work, but we whished for it and achieved it. His memory is safer than ever... safe from the self-mending that time would eventually do in our heads. I want his memory to burn and shine in an ongoing way.
I just wished to share this, as I listened this song again. Take care everyone.
What was his name?
@@brycekelso Vasco.
Did he get his vaccine?
Beautifull ❤❤
Im sorry for your loss...If you will, please pray a Divine Mercy Chaplet for your friend. It’s a very powerful prayer invoking the infinite mercy of Jesus Christ. God bless you 🙏✝
That ending always fucks me up.
This band makes me happy. I hope my band will make others happy.
The "now you're gone" at the end gives me chills man. Great song
Best work out music? Just this song on repeat.
I went to middle school and high school with these guys, I remember skating around and fuckin shit up in band practice with the crew. I always knew they were astonishingly talented, but who could have predicted such success?! Keep it up guys!
Liar
@@ayoodjsmk He might be telling the truth, who knows?
This song hit me like a ton of fucking bricks
"Swear all the pain’s done
No trace or tremor here
Or am I still numb? Have I been this whole year?"
Memories of delivering pizza on late nights smoking green and laughing with friends at the store
This album was on jam back in those days.
THIS should be on the radio. No doubt about it.
"Or am I still numb?? Have I been this whole year??"
This is what pop punk is all about. These guys are by far my favorite in the genre
I feel nostalgic of a childhood i never had. Feels like i missed out on so much. I feel like it should have been different. I feel like i was someone else. Experienced someone elses memories. I feel sad.
Powerful. Identifiable.
But you can still create an amazing present :)
This song used to mean that I could deal with emotions that I once had in a very exclusive way, now it's all love. Thank you to TSSF for such amazing work that allows people to grow and grow up.
No bad Story So Far song. Period.
Hard to pick a favorite song with these guys! They are all so good,
But this song, The Glass, so awesome!
I'm currently a junior in high school and I can't wait to make memories to this song with my friends this summer so that I can listen to this song when I'm older and think about the amazing time I had.
This didn’t age well bro
@@igplagueflowers6218 it really didn't lmao oops, ms rona had to ruin everything
This has to be in the top10 pop punk albums ever made
Favorite song by them
The Story So Far is that 5 amazingly talented guys formed to make the greatest band in the world and are currently producing their second album, showing the world two OUT OF THIS WORLD SONGS.........and the great thing is the story is yet to get better.
so addicting, its heavy
Parker's favorite song ever :)
Yea I was at warped tour two days ago and he straight up said that this was his favorite song haha
+Justin Dupuis were you in Dallas? They streamed it live from Dallas and he said it then! Lol
+Cinematic Ashley He must say it at every event cause I was in houston when he said that XD
+Justin Dupuis yeah he probably does say it every single time they play that song XD
that's so special... I cannot wait til I have the chance to see them live.
Best song so far...
I'm addicted to this band. Every single song they've ever put out is amazing. Excited for March 26th is an UNDERSTATEMENT!
After a full day at the university, of teachers indirectly telling you to fuck off, all i want to do is sit back, relax and enjoy some good pop punk..this band is so awesome :)
This band is possible of anything. This song has absolutely blown me away. This album will go down in the history of the genre
A time in life wen things were so simple yet difficult, nights crying over love lost and days looking for stupid fun things to do...man miss those days.
Reminds me of 2014-2015. Happy I rediscovered this album. It feels like one long song I love it. Still hits the same
I haven't been into pop punk for a while but shit, this band is good.
I have been jammin out to this song on repeat nonstop for days!!! TSSF is hands down the best pop-punk band!!!!
this album really grows on you huh
it sure does lol
nice pun
that implies that you didn't like it at first. which isn't possible
For real dude. I thought it just didn't live up to Under Soil and Dirt. Now I can't stop listening.
I was a fan from almost the beginning, and for me this was the only album I didn't get from the start. At the time I would have said it was the audio production, and a lot of the main bands in the same groups (Transit, The Wonder Years, Man Overboard, Handguns, etc.) were starting to significantly change their sound. I used to have more of a bias against digital production, and the production is fine. The album is clearly all killer.
This is my favorite tssf song, or is empty spaces, maybe closure ...Snyder Street? I can't pick one I love them all!
Jordan Butler fucking same bro
This song is still in their top 3 for me
Truer words have not been spoken...never a bad song and never gets old.
the lyrics to this song make it even better.
Can’t believe it’s been 10 years
spent last summer listening to nothing but The story so far and Transit. Looking forward to another awesome summer!
'I'm not as open as the window you are, the glass just reflects the scar'...... HITS ME DIFFERENT. Best fucking band going.
NOW YOU'RE GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!
NO IM HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE
NOW YOUR! Song ends*
@@nobIzAwSomEEEEE our song
THOSE DRUM SKILLS
My favourite song on the best album of 2013. I wouldn't class my self as a Pop-Punk kid, but i've yet to hear an album that is as heartfelt and packs so many hooks into 30 mins. It's unreal.
The fucking feels with this one
I found out about tssf a couple days ago. I tried getting into man overboard, stick to your guns, the wonder years and other pop punk artist. but I keep coming back to tssf. their musics so good and to me theyre the best in this pop punk genre. So happy I found them
Does anybody else fantasize about this song live?
the story so far will always be my favorite band.
Eu sou o homem da sua vida
I usually listen to a lot of hardcore/metal. Every now and then I like to take a break and listen to kick ass bands like this.
I love the guitar at the beginning, plus the song in itself. Very well done !
Ikr
Brings unexisted memories.
This song is seriously pure ecstasy
1:15 “swear all the pains done no trace or tremor here. Or am I still numb? Have I been this whole year?”
And just like that I'm 21 again. Spectacular
This easily, and by far, my favorite TSSF song, Jesus I feel some type of way every time I hear this song
I just love how gradually they grew on me. Like I feel incomplete if I don't listen to them at least once a day lol
is it humanly possible to drum through this entire song?
lol, listen to The Failsafe or Ebb and Flow by Misery Signals. That drummer is a fucking god among men, he is insane
Holy shit I never noticed...
Marko Jakovic look up ryan pavolick he did a cover of this song and its pretty fucking sick
Look up Aaron Kitcher. His drumming is incredible
Travis barker
That replay button is getting so much love right now.
I agree I actually like the artwork, looks like a sequel to their first album
The single 'Right here' didn't make me excited for the new album but this song definitely does. TSSF is coming back strong
Probably the most emotional song on the whole album. This is the first song i've ever heard by them, now they're one of my favorite bands!
I listen to this song when i'm feeling down. It helps so much :D
You were the spade I used to dig this hole, blistered my skin to bone.
I have a hoodie with these lyrics on them!
Another masterpiece of a song and an awesome melodic twist on the genre. Perfect
This band will go down in pop-punk history.
Led you so far down
I could tell you'd never been
Told me that time's near
And how it will change everything
I'm not so open like the window you are
The glass just reflects the scar
Told me that you had to leave
But how the fuck does that change anything?
Your glare is the faintest, no brightness to show
I made the best of what I thought was impossible
You were the spade I used to dig this hole
Blistered my skin to the bone
Swear all the pain's done, no trace or tremor here
Or am I still numb? Have I been this whole year?
So let me bite down, feel the clench in my teeth
'Til I come around, then relapse and repeat
Then relapse and repeat
Your glare is the faintest, no brightness to show
I made the best of what I thought was impossible
You were the spade I used to dig this hole
Blistered my skin to the bone
Now you're gone
Now you're gone
Now you're gone
Now you're gone
Now you're...
I relapse and repeat tf out of this song
Perfect. People saying it's "over-produced" deserve a throat punch.
march is gonna be a good month for music
The mix is fine.
This song just proves how incredible of a band The Story So Far is. This song has a sound consistent with the songs on Under Soil And Dirt, yet its so different at the same time. Parker's vocals are so powerful. Musically and lyrically i think The Story So Far is the best pop punk band around right now.
THIS IS PERFECTION.
Parker has the most amazing voice.
I have such high hopes for What You Don't See. The Story So Far is seriously proving that pop-punk has never died!
How do you feel about this album and their others after this one? All great in my personal opinion but after 10 years how do you feel about them?
@@abyssalspecter93 still a huge fan of all of their work! Even their latest album. Parker’s side project “No Pressure” is also worth checking out!
@@xMamesx Nice, same here hahaha. I love all of the No Pressure releases too, great band.
you sir have a brilliant point that i respect to the most
If you arent listening to TSSF your missing out on a very important piece of music
Best song by them hands down and you all know it haha
toss up between this and "things I can't change"
This is a straaaaaaight rip of the intro to "Chrono" by TGI, this band is fucking lame
Travis Bickle lol just listened to that song, i'd say it's the same progression (the intro at least) but they are played differently. I prefer the way TSSF plays it, just my personal preference. I'm even willing to say they added more to the progression. If there was a copyright on chord progressions pretty much all bands would get sued or their songs taken down from the market.
One of their best. No one ripped anything. If you believe that you'll be hating alot more bands that make amazing music. The Ghost Inside play in drop A, these guys play in Eb. And the obvious, their not in the same genre, come back when you actually have facts that they did.
Alex Williams you don't need facts, it's pretty obvious. And by the way, changing the tuning doesn't mean you didn't copy the melody…TSSF plays with TGI and all those bands so genre doesn't really make a difference
Wrap up 2020 with What you don't see...!! 😬😬🤟🤟
Only thing better than this is the acoustic version. Fits the lyrics perfectly.
i've listened to this song about 50 times today i need to stop before i burn myself out
I love how the lyrics don't have a run scheme or rythm patern because it's off but it's on key to the instruments
that doesn't make any sense.
All he's saying is that his vocal rhythm is different than the guitars and drums
The guitar during the intro fucking shines. This album is some beautiful work by TSSF. Keepin it real.
Just came everywhere. This album is going to be everything that is amazing about this band.
I totally agree with you. This song is probably one of my favorites on this album.
I am incredibly glad that they are sticking to the formula from Under Soil and Dirt. That album is an instant classic.
How could you dislike this song.. Its so good and it has so much energy to it!
This makes me so happy
I agree 100%!
Couldn't agree more!
Your glare is the faintest
No brightness to show
I made the best of what I thought was impossible
You were the spade I used to dig this hole
Blistered my skin to the bone

Till I come around then relapse and repeat
Thank you kind sir
This new album is so golden. I can't wait to hear the high-quality versions in the release.
Yes
I relate to this song so much.
I'm still buying the album, lol, every song on the album is just perfffff.
For the love of God, please listen to this man.
2023 and this song still goes hard. lfggggggggggggggg
This song is legit. The instrumentals and vocals are amazing and lyrically they can do no wrong. YEEEAH
Rocking out with trees in autumn ✌🏾☮️
YES SIR
The only label this needs is good music.
this song...is REALLY impressive
