Adding soft adjustable feet to the table legs and/or damping material below the table (found in cars to reduce buzzing from speakers) may reduce the table noise. Or mount the microphone higher than the table with a foam cover. Or a foam cushion on the table.
About 18 years ago I decided to get into photography. I worked my way from a digital point and shoot with a tiny sensor to eventually a full frame (35mm) digital SLR. I learned framing, shadows and color on my own, and did a lot of editing. And I've shot maybe 50,000 photos so far (but not so much the last few years.) I found, and others told me, that I have a style. I shoot a lot of street photos, some people, architectural details and random objects, however I find them. I've also shot anything I find that's old, crumbling or just lying about along country roads. My favorite thing is shooting at night, letting the photo be grainy if that's how it turns out, and if it's pouring rain, so much the better. The thing is, I took the time to figure the camera out, with some researching online, and now and then I'll find a way to do something new. I don't delete any photo unless I make a horrendous error, and I posted thousands of photos on my Facebook page so any of my friends can see them. I love your videos, but I don't want to learn Linux 🤫🙂 If I decide to pick up a guitar again, I'm going to teach myself recording into a digital workstation. I do want to try Mac OSX on a PC that is about to retire from everyday use. Sorry for the novella. Cheers!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. You don't have to want to learn Linux to watch my videos. I am fascinated by Linux and use it as an example of tackling something new and unexpected - which is the hidden message in my videos - to not be afraid to learn something new, and to patient with oneself. Go for picking up the guitar again and mastering recording into a digital workstation. My mom played the guitar and she is self taught. I watched a video today from @Wolfgang's Channel where he spoke on why he has MacOS on his ThinkPad. The video is titled "Why I switched to Mac (as a Linux user) Cheers!
Landed here to begin learning linux at age 68...as a "useful-waste-of-time" ....and ended up subscribing to your channel....and was the 41 st to like your vid...was labelled as " unmusical" in school...well challenged myself and learnt to play a harmonica...at age 63...
Happy New Year, Mina! Over the years, I’ve developed new methods to organize my notes, especially the tweaks I experiment with on my Linux system for future reference. I used to record everything in plain *.txt files, but in recent years, I’ve switched to using note-taking applications like Joplin or Obsidian. These tools allow for more effective organization by offering advanced formatting and graphical options, making the notes much clearer and easier to understand when I need to revisit them. Another advantage is the ability to sync and access these notes across multiple devices. Nowadays, this has become an indispensable part of every aspect of my life. Beyond the technical side, I’ve started recording reflective thoughts, quotes that resonate with me, special moments, and more. Over the years, I’ve revisited these notes and am always amazed at what I’ve learned or simply experienced. Once again, it’s a pleasure to see the cheerful and positive energy you bring to your videos. May life always smile upon you 😉
Happy New Year!! You've piqued my interest with the Joplin and Obsidian note-taking applications. I will certainly look into them. I am so glad you enjoy my videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts. All the best! Cheers! :)
There's no such thing as "shatterproof" or "unbreakable". Obvi... "Linux" includes so much under that one umbrella that learning all of it in any order is an impossible task. Your best bet is to look into the things that interest you, and take lots of notes. Drawing parallels between them are where the secrets are. I'm glad you're getting into your learning groove. Thanks for sharing your journey - 🍪☕
I agree, no such thing as "shatterproof" or "unbreakable" My mom had a set of dishes and teacups with saucers from Corningware that were marketed as "shatterproof" HA! the only survivors from that set are the 4 teacups. I like your thoughts on looking into things that interest one and drawing parallels between them. Something that I will definitely do. Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos and share your thoughts. All the best. Cheers! :)
Happy New Year to you. I came across one of your videos a little while back… whilst doom scrolling. I’m well on my way with into my Linux journey now thanks to your inspiration. Something I was on the fence about for quite a while. Love your quirky, down to earth and inspirational videos. Wish you well for 2025…
The amount of thought, effort, and creativity you put into these videos is absolutely amazing. I find them very engaging and encouraging. Wishing you much success in 2025!!!
I like your desk thumps (now that you explained what they are) -- kinda charming, and way less distracting than the background music some people put on their videos. And I'm a bit low-key horrified that EB has jumped on the AI bandwagon. Oh well; another one bites the dust. Gonna have to check out the Libby library thing. One thing about goals; something like "learn Linux" -- how do you know when you've achieved the goal? After I watched a video called something like "Your goals kinda suck" by someone named Theo, I changed my goal from "learn Linux" to "write a script that displays the time in Seattle, Milwaukee, New York, and Amsterdam". (Because I have friends and family in those places.) After I did that, I changed it to "write a script that translates from Fahrenheit to Celsius, and from Celsius to Fahrenheit". Etc., etc. Now I'm working on a better way to organize my TH-cam video lists, because once there are more than a couple dozen, the click-and-drag interface is just intolerable. I would not say I know Linux, but I know **some** Linux, and I learn more each time I try to use Linux to solve a problem. I'm looking forward to what you do with the Linux Crash Course -- enjoy :-)
Viewers can also tap on more… under the video title, tap on show transcript button, then search the transcript for something they want to review again without hunting through the video to find it. If you’re not able to copy the text from the transcript, you can screenshot the text and copy it using OCR on your device. OCR or optical character recognition is a feature found on newer iPhones and iPads, and possibly Android, whereby text can be copied off the image.
Thank you for another awesome video. Your personality is what makes you the kind and awesome soul that you are. It took me over 10 years to go from knowing about Linux to actually embracing the possiblities of open source software. Some things to take time but as you rightfully pointed out, the amount of effort will serve as a variable to determine the outcome. Keep up the great work. Cheers to a properous 2025
Dear Mina ... Love your videos! Learning Linux nowadays might not matter as much as it did back in the 90s ... The action has long moved to mastering apps: video editors, code editors, photshop, illustrator, excel, powerBI, etc. Few people truly need to know what's under the hood. Just my two cents, based on 4 decades of experience. But if u love it, keep doing it.
Thank you for sharing yourself with us. You have a very engaging personality that makes your videos enjoyable to watch and I appreciate your thoughts. May 2025 be a fruitful endeavor. Peace, out.
I still have my pens and pencil case I had at school in the 70s. I don't think you ever stop learning things about Linux, I had to look something up today I didn't know. This happens all the time. Talking about pronunciation, I'm still unsure about Debian to be honest.
Mad respect to you having your pens and pencil case from school. You just brought up a memory of the first pencil case my mother bought me. It was bright blue and had a zipper pocket in the front. Do you have a favorite pen from then? I agree that you never stop learning things about Linux, or things in general. We are always learning. Pronunciation of Debian...hmmmmm.... gonna have to look that up too. :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Cheers!
@@stylishthriftye I have a couple of Parker pens, the ones with the cartridge inks. I do love those old pens, although I haven't used them for years. I will give them a try again today for old times sake.

kool hair great presentation!!! Happy New Year
