How to Create a Dot Grid in Adobe Illustrator

This is a beginner tutorial on how to create a dot grid in Adobe Illustrator using the pattern function.
In the video, I mention that other methods I've explored before aren't as good as this one. This is mostly due to the time spent creating a pattern vs creating the dots manually.

Super helpful, thanks for the tutorial! If once I create my grid I realize I want the dots to be closer together, is there a way to edit the pattern? Or do I need to create a new one? Thank you!
