This is the real haven on earth. It comes to us directly from God through his angelus musicalis J. S. Bach. And it is real blessing and the best prayer to sing or play it.
Strefanasha thank you for your reply. However I used lower case. I believe man is created in Gods image and their music is inspired by the Spirit through His Word to the glory of the Father.
The Silmarillon is a difficult novel to penetrate. I get the overall narrative, but there are many lands and many personages to track down, as well as overlapping stories in time and space. To confuse the matter further, the names are different in Noldorin (or high elvish) c.f. Sindarin (grey elvish) to refer to the same person, Vala or place.
OK, here is what we know: Bach composed the Mass in b minor very late in his life. The opening "Kyrie" is original. The vast majority of the entire rest of the work is made up of bits and pieces from his large number of Cantatas and other choral works. In fact the entire Gloria is from a Cantata . The chorus in the Cantata 29 shows up twice in the Mass; once in the Gloria and at the end in the Dona Nobis Pacem. The amazing thing is that he could take a section from a Cantata and transform it into a section of the Mass.
just craft and not such a rare case in that age: compsers used to recycle their own works in order to provide all committments. the first section of this cantata became a prelude for solo violin... this is a bit more difficult :)
Lisa Ragsdale: Greetings from Lima, Peru. Thanks for your information about the origins of the beloved Mass in B minor. Please, let me contribute saying that, as is very well konwn, the Sinfonía of Cantata 29 is an organ and orchestral versión of Prelude of the Partita 3, BWV 1006. And let me quote a link from You Tube: th-cam.com/video/7ERqr_1Knfk/w-d-xo.html Thanks again.
+Jaman Dunn Ditto the first chorale is the same tune as 'Dona Nobis Pacem' - the end of the Mass in B. Fair enough to reuse stuff, given how much work he had to do!
in rete c'è un video dove il maestro Claudio Brizi suona un bellissimo claviorgano su cui interpreta "Aus liebe..." brano tratto dalla Passione secondo Matteo. Puoi anche ascoltare uno splendido Domenico Zipoli. Buona riconciliazione ;)
Oh my God. The idiot is back. Can't you just go back to your cave and leave the civilised people alone to enjoy the music. By the way, in case you failed to notice, this is Bach, not Beethoven...
+Martin Möller, as per usual another silly answer. If an answer at all. As if Christian and civilized are mutually incompatible. BTW, it's civilized... You're not the sharpest tool in the box, are you?

You're not exactly the sharpest tool in the box, are you?! Regarding yourself, all of a sudden an expression with the words "sac" and "hammers" springs to mind...
LA PIU' BELLA ITERPRETAZIONE CHE C'È...SOPRANO FANTASTICO...TENORE SUBLIME...MAESTRO GRANDE...
Joyful and dancing, great transparency and harmony between organ/orchestra.
with a music like that, 0 dislikes will last forever
Never heard with this particular combination of instruments, especially norme and organ. Excellent
lovely...thanks to Bach....
Beautiful! And there are many wonderful transcriptions of this sinfonia for organ alone.
Bach, el único dios verdadero. Un día sin escuchar Su música es un día perdido.
no podía estar mas de acuerdo
Cierto es
pero Bach mismo aprendiò con las rendiciones de Vivaldi y otros musico venecianos.....
Unsurpassed performance! Rich in the expressive melodic sounds of the instruments & the human voice in harmony and beauty!!!

AMEN!!!!!
Obra magnífica. A textura da sinfonia com sua discrepante dinâmica é um momento de grande entusiasmo orquestral.
I can feel my eardrums literally dancing with my brain.
Bach the father of music, Mozart the son and Beethoven the spirit.
+David Abram
Bach brings us God’s Word. Mozart brings us God’s Laughter. Beethoven brings us God’s Fire
+David Abram Well, Harnoncourt said just Bach and Mozart.
How about this?: Bach is the foundation of music, Mozart is the soul of music and Beethoven is the future of music.

Bach resented God, because he did not recognize his talent...
Do you know that after his death his wife had to beg on the street?...where was God?
this was the second best version on yt, the other one got removed, so now its the best one! congrats! haha thx for the upload
Somehow Bach seems like the Silmarillion, it has a certain depth, a certain splendor
Giuseppe Guccione A most curious comparison...

1:50 section, beautiful.
Nice performance and tempo and recording. Thanks for posting

Especially around 2.17 and 2.46!
Thank you Srymegour!!!
Please tell me someone else hears Violin Partita No.3 in E major at the beginning.....
+Jaman Dunn I do, man hahaha
+Jaman Dunn Same piece just arranged for Violin by Bach himself.
+Jaman Dunn Ditto the first chorale is the same tune as 'Dona Nobis Pacem' - the end of the Mass in B. Fair enough to reuse stuff, given how much work he had to do!
Prelude (Partita 3 for violin solo) was arranged for this Cantata's sinfonia by Bach actually
All sorts of works get recycled in Bach. Master of transcriptions of his own works.
The chorus after the Sinfonia...........that's from Bach's B Minor Mass???
Ben Emberley
Pretty much everything from Bach's Mass in B Minor is taken from his cantatas.
The glorious melody is too quiet
Which one?
BWV 1006.
Ci può essere qualcosa di più bello e che ti ricnoncilii con questo mondo di merda?

if only liberate the sound
Beethoven brings us the smell of the devil.

This is music for christian people, not for civilezed people.
