I don't know...having no plan at all seems about on brand here. The usual Bischoff playbook is come up with some wild story of why it wasn't his fault or how some great idea fall through. This seems like a rare moment of "yea, I kind of suck at booking" honesty 😅

The Wyatt family kidnapped Kane, twice. Both times Kane returned without even acknowledging the fact that he had been kidnapped or that anything had happened.
The first time he was Kidnapped and indoctrinated, the second time he went on his own accord. KANE IS UNCLE HOWDY
Kane kayfabe killed his own parents and spent his adolescence in literal *Hell*. A weekend at the Wyatt compound probably feels like relaxing, pleasurable, happy cabana retreat to him.

The lockbox was a shoot promo it actually contained the documents showing where Vince was spending WWE money etc to keep girls quiet about the affairs he had.

If I remember correctly, the 2007 "Chaos" RAW was actually supposed to be just accident after accident. It was supposed to make RAW feel more real and add something to "anything can happen".

If it is constant accident after accident, then it is not chaos, especially with WWE's "controlled chaos" mentality. I mean they shake and zoom the camera whenever there is a series of punches and kicks to create chaos. That doesn't create chaos. Chaos is created by having chaos.

It was assumed to be Big Boss Man
Big Boss Man - the stipulation said no member of the corporation could interfere. Boss Man got fired after that announcement and rejoined the night afterwards.
@@csansby1 That’s what I thought. I remember hearing people say Bossman was responsible, but wasn’t sure if they ever explained it in the storyline.
The implication was Bossman. He'd been removed from the Corporation just before and rejoined just after. I can't recall if they were ever explicit but I think it was supposed to be him.
@@Adamdidit They weren’t explicit. You had to watch Raw before and after King of the Ring. On the Raw before, when the stipulation was announced, the Corporation fired Bossman. The night after King of the Ring, he was rehired. The implication was supposed to be “the Corporation fired Bossman so he could interfere on their behalf without violating the match stipulation”, but they couldn’t spell that out without making the finish too obvious.
The one that always springs to mind is Stone Cold vs Shane and Vince at KOTR 99 where the briefcase went up and was never followed up on who did it.
I heard rumours it was supposed to have been Big Boss Man, but yeah, no genuine follow up on that one.
It was the Big Boss Man.
The stipulation was that nobody from the corporation was allowed to interfere.
Boss Man was “fired” from the corporation after the announcement was made and joined back the day after.
It was one of the rare cases of “subtle” storytelling where you really had to pay attention to the details.

The Vince limo explosion was revealed as Vince faking his own death in a backstage segment a few weeks after it happened.
Yeah it was dropped because 2 weeks later Benoit murdered his wife and kid......Obviously they didn't think it was the time to continue a murder story.
A noted moron, I won't say his name, so let's just say his last job was President of the United States, actually called WWE to make sure Vince didn't get exploded on live TV.

It was heavily implied Owens did it but then they completely dropped it when he moved up to the main roster
I know that it's far less remembered, but Dusty Rhodes and what was inside the Manila folder deserves a special mention
I'm literally never going to forget the Lashley-Lana storyline, it is probably the one key moment that completely killed watching raw for me.

I was always under the impression that the reason the set collapsed, lights fell, fans invaded backstage etc was because Vince was spending the money he would usually pay security/lighting riggers etc on the Million Dollar Mania. So in storyline everything was falling apart to confirm how shit of an idea it was.

The Vince limo explosion was genuinely the most shocking storyline of all-time, IMO. We really were not expecting it. But the Benoit incident upstaged everything in wresting, and it forced the CEO of the world's largest wrestling company to break kayfabe to address the incident, and thus killing the story. Very unfortunate. BTW, I'm convinced that Chavo Guerrero knows everything and after somewhat blabbing about it on the Benoit tribute show, buried it. I noticed years later that of all the clips of the wrestlers talking about Benoit, Chavo's went missing from official WWE media.
That Shane Lockbox thing is pretty damn hilarious right now.
Hogan lost his mustache because The Giant grabbed it on his way down falling off Cobo but Hogan was actually supposed to lose it in a Mustache vs Mustache match with Sullivan and dungeon of doom and that's why the taskmaster kicked the giant out because he messed up the infamous Mustache match.🤣🤣🤣
Honestly the sign thing has just enough strange parts to it that it can be understood as something Vince would find really funny. I wouldn’t be shocked if that was his intention: a really bizarre attempt at slapstick that only he would enjoy.

I wouldn't call this one "wild," per say, because it only happened for a week or 2. There was a match where dolph ziggler was dressed a sin cara, beat his opponent in heelish fashion, which was weird since sin cara was face. This led to a backstage interview with someone questioning sin cara about it, him not understanding, and that's it, never brought up again
There were 2 Sin Caras in WWE for a while Sin Cara Azul (Mistico) and Sin Cara Negro (Hunico) maybe it was part of the build up for that?

@@easilyeasy It was from Ziggler’s feud with Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio was set to wrestle Sin Cara, so Ziggler disguised himself as Cara and attacked Del Rio. Backstage, Teddy Long went to confront Ziggler but the real Cara was back under the mask and had no knowledge of what happened.

The original ‘Higher Power’ was meant to be a debuting Christopher Daniels. But Vince took one look at him and goes ‘He’s not big enough. So it’s gonna be me.’
That's one of my pet peeves in wrestling when they put something in the storyline that has a big point in the story and just leave it without any explanation and just left it blank.

5:26 Even when WCW explained things away _with_ spooky mysticism, it wasn't overly adequate. The Dark Side of Hulkamania - presumably achieved through removal of the Fu Manchu - wasn't so much resolved as tossed into a fire by _World War 3._

Goldust. The storyline planned that he was supposed to return but then he ended up leaving WWE before the storyline reached its conclusion. The notes reading “I still remember” were meant to be him coming back as a heel to feud with Booker T.
The Corporate Ministry. I feel as if "The Higher Power" was switched at the last minute. The Ministry of Darkness was so cool then it watered down once Austin vs. McMahon got added in.
For a long time I heard the story that Mick Foley was supposed to be the Higher Power but ruled himself out since at the time his mounting injuries would've prevented him from having an active role. What really surprised me and didn't hear until a little while ago was that another candidate before Foley was The Jackyl (aka Don Callis), which actually makes sense since The Jackyl was a Koresh-like figure and even was the one who initially paired Bradshaw and Farooq together into the Acolytes, who in turn joined the Ministry, but Callis was fired shortly after that. Kinda ironic considering where Callis is now, you gotta wonder if he recycled some of that into the "Invisible Hand."
@@MrGared22 Another person who was meant to be the Higher Power was Christopher Daniels. Vince Russo wanted to have Daniels play the role due to his "Fallen Angel" gimmick in the indies, however Mr. McMahon saw that he was too small and nixed the idea.

It’s fascinating how many vehicular or vehicle-based mysteries tend to be the ones that get kiboshed or left to gather dust. One other one that came to mind: who drove the limousine the Nexus used to nearly kill Bret Hart?
Considering how many people die or get injured in vehicular incidents--probably every third person at a given RAW knows someone who's been involved in one--it doesn't seem sensitive or prudent to get into it as part of a hokey wrestling storyline.
May 19th I feel deserves an honorable mention. We didn't even find out who fake Kane was.

Shane’s lockbox storyline was one I badly wanted to see completed. Maybe it could be revealed that Vince destroyed it or Shane just lied to bother Vince.
Obviously, Vince’s demise and paternity battle also would’ve been insane to see.
Considering the shit that just happened with Vince, they have the perfect way to close the lockbox story. Hush money!!!
Maybe there was some leaked swamp gas, or the sun's rays reflecting off the moon weirdly which caused some sort of hallucination, but I _swear_ there was a promo where Savage said, "You wanna know who was driving the white hummer? It was Gorgeous George. Uh-huh."
Idk if this counts. Shawn Michaels when he returned as commissioner. Shawn left to bring stone cold to the arena. Was jumped by presumably the corporation. It was hinted that D-X set Shawn up they just left it as that. If I remember correctly that was the night mankind became WWF champion for the first time.
I remember being confused by all that the first time around as well! I think what ended up happening was that DX set Shawn up because a few months earlier, Shawn cost X-Pac his match against The Rock for the title.
Now we know what was probably in the lockbox
The Shane Lockbox angle has a lot more heat to it here in 2022.
