I have nowhere even close to as many open bottles as you fellas but at the moment I can't keep away from my Blair Athol 12 (F&F), Port Askaig 100 proof, Longrow peated, Benriach 10 and Lot 40 Rye.
I'm a Bourbon guy till my end of time. My five in no particular order are: Knob Creek, Russell's Reserve 10yr, 4Roses Single Barrel, Larceny, Elijah Craig (full strength when I can get it)
Thanks for the reviews. I think I’ve seen most of ‘em and this was the BEST one so far. Although you didn’t talk me into buying something this time, I loved the energy and enthusiasm here. Telling us what you like about exceptional whiskys is the best thing you can do for us. I’d love it if Bart had a separate channel for toys & funny hats.
Great back and forth format! Love the lists! Only nine I’ve tried is the Woodford (also had their double cast). I’m very excited to pick up the Jameson Black Barrell; I see it all the time but have only ever had the regular. Also, I’ve seen the Balvenie Doublewood 12, but not the Peated ones. Any thoughts on the doublewood 12?
@@ScotchTestDummies Found it! th-cam.com/video/vB6V4pfQgSc/w-d-xo.html Gonna pick up a bottle for sure! I love the honey and vanilla notes in scotch as well!
My 5 go to is something like: Johnnie Walker Black, Maker's Mark, Connemara, Glen Grant and Laphroaig 10. I can buy the first four for less than 70 Euro total!
Well done gents. I hope to pick up the challenge a bit later when I start recording again. Although mine will be fairly humble. So good to see the collection!
@@ScotchTestDummies I keep hearing good things about this 12 year old and am very disappointed that they dropped it in favor of the new "cheapy" small batch. I'm on my second bottle and am trying to like it but it really does nothing for me. It seems so bland and nothings happening compared to some other whiskeys in its price range I'm sippin on.. Now the EG Barrel Proof "Bottle of Wow" is amazing, but at almost triple the price . It's all sold out around here except for one store I just found a bottle for $70. Seems like a lot of the recommended whiskeys are all sold out in my area of So Cal and prices are on the rise!
Awesome video, you guys have some amazing collections! Also, I vote for a more detailed video of each of your collections. I feel like that itself would be very interesting to see.
We really liked this segment...and we know our tastes will change with the season. I think we will do this at least twice a year. We challenged other TH-camrs to do the same segment. I think Swami has done one. Go check that out too.
Feel the same way Scott did with the Macallan Edition 2. Just could not stop going back, as a safety valve I filled 3 4oz sample bottles and put them in the library I'm building so as not to drink it all. Cheers
I thought I’d have been closer to Bart’s but I only agreed with 1/5 compared to 3/5 to Scott. See if I can find your winter picks now. Love the back catalogue.
Just finding this and have been seeing your channel more in my recommends. Finally subscribed - here's my 5 go back tos: 1. Nikka Yoichi 2. Four Roses Single Barrel 3. Hibiki (any of their blends) 4. Eagle Rare 5. Nikka from the Barrel Can you tell I love Nikka?
@@ScotchTestDummies to be fair I'm just getting into whisky and am part Japanese so that's partially why there's so many in there. I just haven't had the time to try more yet!
Cool, interesting and different video! l totally agree on Laga 8 and peated Balvenie. I just finished a Balvenie 14 peated triple cask (travel retail). Delicious stuff! Impressive collections you have both of you! 😍
Mmmmm, looking forward to the Clynelish 14. That’s become one of my go to’s. Also I just got a bottle of The Classic Laddie that I’m having trouble keeping my hands off of! Skål!
I had originally stayed away from Bruichladdich because I started out as more of a peat head and wasn't very interested in their branding (though yes, I know don't judge a book by its cover--couldn't be more true in this case!). I finally circled back to it and am so glad that I did. I love the vanilla and sea spray notes--like eating a French vanilla ice cream cone on some sun-baked, salt-coated rocks down by the seaside! And you gotta respect their propensity to bottle at 50% ABV and natural color/no chill filtration. Keep up the good work, guys (both you and Bruichladdich, ha ha)!
AH, Blackbarrel is delicious! The Cask Strength is well worth the trip and the 90 Euro a friend and I paid for it on Bowstreet. Good, and surprising, pick.
Maybe I'll have to try the Jameson Black Barrel again. Recall when they changed the bottle design, after that I bought a bottle and I went from it being just like what Bart said, a "go to" pour, to (with the new bottle)... I didn't like it at all. Well, apparently what Bart has, he likes, so maybe I should take a chance and try it again. Cheers!
Is the Wichita Police decanter an actual whiskey or just a decanter? Just curious because I live in the area and have never seen anything of the sorts. Awesome video guys and I'm digging the Love the Peat shirt, so I got one!
Yep and it took a while...and some other stuff. Currently its a story I can tell only in person but give our show about two years and it should make an appearance. Bart
I can't stand Makers Mark 46, it has a flavor in it as if it was aged in a plastic barrel and I found the same flavor in Wellers, does anyone know where's the flavor coming from? so I don't buy another whiskey like that
@@steveh.3370 Def suspect this is it. MB Roland's wheated amps up some of the aroma/flavor I struggle with to the next level (or three!). Really helped me dial in.

Thanks Bart. This video reminded me my LLS got in the Balvenie Peat Week 2003. Ordered and will pick up today.

Just a decanter i got from a friends dad. Thanks Evan.
Wow there is a whole other shelf below what we can normally see
btw lag 8 at 49 bucks im crying im crying so much because we are playing 74 and that is the very cheapest sigh.
Ouch. Time to make a trip to Wichita. Maybe in October for our gathering
It’s $100 up here in Ontario 😢
It's funny, Lagavulin 8 and 16 are pretty much at the same pricepoint here.
that is odd, because the 8 should be quite a bit cheaper.
@@ScotchTestDummies I live in an odd country which made odd choices.
I can't tell you why, maybe it's just more coveted here?
Very interesting video showing what you both have and like... 200 bottles each? I'd better up my game!
5 years of videos adds up
Jameson BB is pretty good but have you tried the Crested? Cheaper and I personally think it's a bit better.
Great video
I'm new, but I why keep some in the packaging and some not? I think I'd prefer one or the other, personally.
most of the time it comes down to space. once you get enough bottles you need to make more room!
so much liquor in the house, holy mother of pearl! you could fill a liquor shop easily!😁
They tend to clear the liquorstores where they live 😂
Please review highland park the dark 17
we do have that one and havne't reviewed it.
I know. I would love to see your thoughts on it
51% malt and corn, "barley", and rye...
Bart, it looks like Chewy is going after your rye, and Obi-Wan got into the Lagavulin.
Both those fellas are good to have around, but they drink heavy
nice collection, yet you should probably invest some of that whiskey budget into proper clothing :D
Scott agrees with you Marvin.
OMG I'd kill for that committee dark cove
Your stock went down a tad with that half empty Jack Daniels on your self
it should be more empty?!
the best whisky with only a picture - so sad!
Dice tower HAMTAG????
don't encourage him 😉
Bart should get some Barbies and GI-Joe's (Kung-fu Grip) to round out his collection.
who says he doesn't have them! muwahahahaha. Scott
Scotch Test Dummies Does he have the”Life like hair” Gi-Joe or the “Bionic” Gi-Joe?
Bart actually has the six million dollar man with the bionic vision.
