- Welcome back to the second episode in our 3-part look at Grant Morrison's Multiversity. Today we examine what did and didn't work on the infamous Final Crisis event.
Also, Troy does his best to explain just what the hell the Monitors are, while Dave loses interest and recounts one of his favorite Batman stories.

I LOVED Final Crisis, especially the Superman Beyond tie-in. I loved seeing the way Morrison depicted the scope of Darkseid's threat and what he did with Superman. I wish Morrison wrote the Death of the New Gods.
All of Grant Morrison's DC work interconnects.

the interesting thing about Darkseid sending Batman back in time was
he actually tried to use Batman himself AS a time-bullet.
where-ass the time-bullet Darkseid used to kill Orion was made with Radion,
Darkseid filled Batman with Omega energy, sent him back in time,
and as Batman moved forward through time it charged the Omega energy.
once Batman arrived in his proper time the Omega energy would go off ending everything.
this plays out in 'The Return of Bruce Wayne', another great Morrison story that i needed to read a few times before it became more clear to me.
i won't say i understood everything in it 100%, but at least i was able to get a better grasp of the concept.

I really love Final Crisis. Its a beautiful mess. Never understood it the first time I read it, but years later its my fav DC story to date. I cant get enough of it, I read it twice a year
+Sean Khatibi I felt the same way on the second read. There are so many flashes of brilliance peppered among a cluttered, "what in the hell...?" type of reality-shaking super hero story. There's nothing else like it, and by the end of it, I really wanted more.

The Batman death pose. The Batman death pose aghaha
