You already know how important it is for us, the fact, that we need old school tackle shops around. Thanks for getting some tackle shop videos in again! Take care and see you in the lone star state sometime! 🤠👍
Another excellent video. This topic is bitter/sweet to me because on the one hand I'm fondly reminded of the different family owned outdoor shops I frequented in my teens & twenties, and how much fun it was. I'm always reminded how much I learned from those who worked there. But, on the other hand it reminds that almost all those locally owned stores are gone now, and I have fewer places to choose from and the sameness of all these bigger sporting good stores that remain. Being able to order online is fun and convenient, but it can't replace the fun I had actually going to the stores and just immersing myself and enjoying the ambiance.
@@RetroBassin yes it really did was about a 15 min fight , was amazing experience of our life .My husband and I went to Anglers yesterday hoping to see ur stickers or hat there . To support ur channel 🎣💪🇺🇸 😀
Thanks Retro for sharing this video. This is awesome. I live on the east coast and would like to visit the establishment. A trip to Annapolis has been on a weekend bucket list for some time. This is another great and interesting video. So Cool! Thank You!
No way! Cool. Ive been going to Anglers for over 40 years. You got EJ to actually "work"...Great guy to show and tell what works as you work through the shop finding out whats working at the time of year when you get time away from work and put some real work into throwing the lures and equipment that works. Not a single worked. EJ keeping it positive works for me
Retro I’m in N Al. So tackle shops are pretty popular despite all the online availability the last decade , but there are still some old family owned shops around the shoals area near the Tennessee River lakes like Pickwick and Wilson that I’ll always give my business to they are packed with largemouth and smallmouth gold . Thanks for promoting the good ole tackle shop they are good hangout places for fisherman I don’t wanna see die out . Haven’t committed in a while sorry about that . Love the program buddy !
@@RetroBassin Retro there’s a couple shops called Grays tackle one is in Sheffield Al the other is at McFarland park in Florence Al only 5-6 mile between ea shop both are close To pickwick and Wilson lakes . The Sheffield shop is my personal favorite I’ve been tournament fishing for almost 30 years and the Sheffield Grays tackle has been a shoals area staple for the entire time . When the Grays started the shop it was called set of steps and grays tackle, but over time set of steps faded with all the big corporation Lowe’s , Home Depot etc and the Grays tackle is still going strong with two shops now open the newest being at McFarland park in Florence Al
I love that they have REAL kits....not the stuff that you get in a "mystery tacklebox" but like a real kit with actual lures that locals know you should use for that specific species.
OH SHIT i just click on the episode. this is my "local spot" i put that in quotations because its the only tackle shop around other then bass pro, and the sport shop in halthorp near baltimore (i for got the name) LOVE angler great people and great gear. kent island has some great fishing too retro bassn! great vid!
