The stunning new for 2020 Maxi 2 (Duomax ) builds on the success and format of the Maxi 3 / Maxi 4 (previously called Minimax/Optimax )models.
The Maxi 2 model is a two horse herringbone format, with a walk in tack room similar to the larger 3 horse Maxi 3 (Minimax) and 4 horse Maxi 4 (Optimax) models.

I was wondering why they are not for the North American market and then I realized why. We drive on the right side of the road. The horses would be facing the wrong way (curb side instead of road side). The majority of the weight (front of the horses) must be on the road side for safety. Also, no screens on the windows. We have mosquitoes in North America......and the "barn door" opens the wrong way too, right into traffic. Oh well, maybe one day someone will design one like this for us!

I really like the idea of a herringbone trailer and love the space inside as it looks like you could tack up etc in the trailer. However, I'm a bit nervous about the flimsy looking chain at the top of the ramp... Can a horse barge through it quite easily? Also there's no jockey door to check on horses while travelling so it would be hard to settle a nervous traveller as you would have to open one of the ramps to get in.

Hi Cathy, Thank you for your comments. If you a have a more nervous horse you could keep the front ramp up until you are ready to unload. The customers who have the Maxi2 have never flagged any issues with the front chain, but every horse is different. With teh combination of the two pop out windows and the step to view from teh rear ramp, you can keep an eye on the horses. In addition we also offer a bluetooth camera system that links to your phone, which is a great way of keeping an eye on the horses whilst travelling. The one think I would flag with teh Maxi2 is it worth checking on horse sizes as this would be a great two pont trailer, but woudl not take 2 x 16.2. Hope this helps. Best wishes

Hi Linda, Unfortunately not, the trailer is designed to be diagonal / herringbone format with the horses facing forward and to the right.

That devider should open at the opposite side, so you could push the horse in the right direction. I just bought that trailer with another, and for my opinion better, divider. But I have problems loading the second horse because that pole isn't fixed on at least one side. While I need to grab that pole and put it in the right place, my horse just walks out again... 😅 Need to train that alot now but my one horse ain't easy about trailer loading...

@@bigbeartrailersoutdoor1127 I don't know how to explain, but it's like two halfs and you can adjust it with a split pin in the middle... I'm from Germany and I could only find those with this devider. I would take a photo but sadly I cannot upload it here... It's the same like in a Fautras Oblic +2.

@@shezakillrqueen Hi, Yes I do understand. This two half format didnt receive great feedback in the UK so the Fcatory now produce with the proven Minimax / Optimax style of partition. On your earlier point, you could if you wished switch the divider around so that it opened on the other side. Best wishes
