      Update,i broke a plastic harness retainer and it fell between the timing belt and crank pulley,didn’t bend a valve but both banks were off their mark by at least 30 degrees.Replaced timing belt and put 10k miles since

    I love this serious. It’s always cool to see you adding new goodies to the gs. Do you have a power goal in mind? I’m guessing your making at least 350 whp right now? Be cool to see this thing have 450-550 whp someday, 1uz is a beast of an engine!

    I just got a 1999 LS400 and I know its not the exact same process as what you've done with your GS, but it should be similar to get the results you did. I want to do a manual swap and Supercharge it without having to change rods or pistons.
    Can you explain what the system youre using to increase the intake noise is? I've never seen that before. What transmission and Supercharger should I go with in your opinion? I have seen the M90 M112 and TVS1900 mentioned in other videos. Making the car faster is great but I really like the supercharger in yours, it sounds amazing.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey - I have videos on just about everything you asked about. I have two-part video series on the intake amplifier. It’s basically an FM mic that broadcasts sound into your car stereo. I have since removed it because I went to a CAI that provides enough sound. I really cannot answer the SC question. The TVS is newer tech and more efficient, but can be more expensive than an M112. Same with the MT you go with. I don’t know your budget, so I cannot say. I like the AR5, but if you have tons of money, a Grannas 1UZ to T56 system would be ideal. My suggestion is to check out more videos and let me know if you have specific questions after watching them.

    • @Elementaliti
      @Elementaliti 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ForwardMomentum thanks for the reply I'll check out the rest of your vids. I'm not looking to do any crazy high horsepower numbers I just want to wake the car up and make it fun with the manual gearbox and a respectable amount of boost on stock internals. I don't think that's too tall of an order for this platform.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s doable for sure. You can safely add 75-100WHP with that combo. But it’s going to cost you. I’d say a budget MT and SC combo will run around $8K these days, with a good clutch being nearly $1K of that cost. You probably have to ask yourself if that’s “worth it” to you as you’ll never get that investment back. For higher end offerings, including premium everything, you could be pushing well over $10K. Frankly, at that point, I might switch to a different platform. But to each his own.

    • @Elementaliti
      @Elementaliti 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ForwardMomentum Unfortunately after passing $10K it would just make more sense to buy another car to me. I do love the 1UZ though. I might be able to get a little fun on a budget for this car if I can source some things from junkyards.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, getting some things cheap makes sense, but only a couple things. For example, the MT adapter you’ll want billet. SC adapter, Elate. If you can find a decent junkyard MT and SC that will be about the only place you can skimp, saving you maybe $1K if you’re lucky. It really sucks because some of these other guys can load power using OTA data ports and we’re stuck doing things the hard way.

    How much power do you estimate right now? How much has fuel consumption increased?

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I estimate I’m at 300-310whp, or +65-75whp over typical stock whp (235 on the GS400). I just added a 3.25” pulley today, so I should be around 325-330whp here soon. Fuel consumption has remained the same, funny enough.

    Can you please tell me the oart number for the radiator hose that you use. I am about to buy a supercharged gs400 and it is using the original radiator hose. I saw a video you mentioned you used a special radiator hose, please let me know what hose it is. Thanks

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  ปีที่แล้ว

      As mentioned in my supercharger series, I don’t have that info. My friend had it laying around and gave it to me. I tried to figure out the PN by looking at various numbers printed on the hose itself to no avail. I simply cannot figure out the PN. One thing you could do is route a flexible wire to the path you need, take it into an auto parts store, and see if they have a hose that meets your needs on the wall.

      A GS300, manual and turbo would be pretty sweet. Although for a DD mine is great. Given today’s car pricing, I’d probably build a 300. I can’t stand the lack of room under the hood of this thing, but dang it’s fun as a DD…

      Take the belt off and see if you can replicate the sound on the tensioner by moving it and spinning the pulley. They’re pretty cheap so maybe just get another one.
