    Farming = legalized gambling. A very apt analysis.

    Not much more satisfying than seeing that hay being put up!
    I'd like to know how profitable the custom baler can be with such nice equipment. Seriously, I'd like to upgrade, but I can't imagine how long that would take to see a return on that investment. My '60s-'80s equipment is functional, but it's not quite as fun as this looks!

    Cool series!
    Ever do any mini round bale machines, designed for the compact tractors??

    Who knew bailing was so complicated?

    Neil, considering monitors, and all the levers is it safe to say that the New Holland tractor was purchased especially to run that large square baler??

      part of why farmers have several tractors is because of the work that it takes to swap complicated implements around. You would spend a lot of time swapping things around to cut, rake, ted, bale.

      Larry, you’re exactly right. That tractor is dedicated to run that baler and spends 75% of its life with us running that baler.

      @@rickscustombalingllc.841 That's a beautiful tractor and as we were taught you can't do a good job unless you have the right tools or in this case the equipment.

      When we were running that model baler we tried to only hook it up in the spring and leave it on until fall. When we switched to the 2100 series baler with the computer on the baler we noticed that it was much easier to get things running right after hooking up.

    Explain the moisture control in a little more detail . Is that the liquid tank on the rear of the baler. Thanks.

    That was a really great video. My Girls entire family farms, and videos like this allow me to understand how and why they do the things that they do. Thanks 🙂
    Also, around here. Only the biggest farms use "acid", what type of "acid" is this. Does it just help drop the moisture content, or is it for preservation?

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Call crop saver. Keeps hay from rotting at higher moistures.

    😅Is there any option offered in tractor for automatically making 3point hitch lift when reversing tractor, especially for shuttle gear tractor, 🤔

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, not uncommon on the larger tractors with electric controls.
