The Best Current Sensor for Arduino!

- Hello Everyone! Thank you for stopping by. This video is a improved and a more compact version of my previous current sensor module build. This current sensor features a compact design, a more current measuring range and greater accuracy than my previous build. This tutorial is a great learning experience in itself.
With such easy to use components, this module is compatible with almost all popular microcontrollers and data acquisition systems.
I hope this video gives you good information about the project. If so, do leave your feedbacks and suggestion in the comments below and also let me know if you would like me to build any such projects!

excellent❤
Nice work! According to my experience with the acs712 sensor, it is very sensitive to magnetic field. So proper shielding is the key for stable measurements👍
Interesting stuff, thanks!
Thanks a lot!
Never knew we could make circuits boards at home so easily like this. Blown away bhaiya! ❤️❤️
Thanks a lot Anubhav!
Merry Christmas ❄☃️
Your site is an underrated channel... You should grow more faster.... Explanation is the best..❤
Thanks a lot! Will try and put out more content like this
Good one. Apart from the current sensor I also learnt the diy pcb from this video.
BTW can this be used for AC loads since there is no isolation from mains?
Thanks a lot! Glad this was helpful. This sensor is not suitable for AC current because of it's working. A different topology is needed to measure AC current
For AC, You could use an [isolated] Hall Effect sensor to detect the current draw.
Very good buddy the main achievement is the accuracy of current meter which is hard to achive.
Yes it does work with good accuracy! Thanks a lot!
I have a question can I use a lm348?, it is a quad op amp but I will use the single op amp inside
Yes you can use any general purpose OP AMP IC
Hi buddy im working on a project which requires current sensor. So i m planning to implement your circuit but i have some doubts. Can we get in touch and discuss about that.
I made this, but when i calibrated with when the ampere at less than 1 ampere and uploaded the code, it just works well with pretty similar values comparing to multimeter. But when the current goes greter than 1 ampere ith result value is slightly reducing from the original value.
Is there any solution for this?
What you can do is measure the voltage drops with varying levels of current. Vary the current from a reasonably small load to a high load that consumes maybe 4-5 Amps. In this way you would get different voltage drops for different load currents. Similarly you can find out the calibration value and upon taking the average of this calibration value, you would have a reasonably good reading over a greater range of measurement
Plese tell me how to change the code for R003 SHUNT resister as i dont have R005
For this you need to change the calibration factor that I have used in my code. This can be determined by taking a few current values from a multimeter and recording the corresponding analogRead value from arduino and determining the calibration factor by using simple unitary method
Brother can it measure AC current also?
This can only be used for DC measurements
How much current required for aurdino board
Arduino typically requires current in order of 100-200 mA to operate
what is the maximum current this module can handle?
This can handle upto 10 Amps
What if we use 10 mili ohm Resistance.
In that case the voltage drop across the resistor will double and would reduce the current measurement range to half
Is it possible to read current like 1ma upto 2.5A , High side.
Yes that can be done, however this circuit may not be very ideal for measuring very small current like 1mA. This can be solved by using an instrumentation amplifier. You can also change the opamp gain factor to get better sensitivity
Oh cool .
@@UtsavShah_25 hi i m trying to implement your circuit , can you please share what would be minimum current i can measure & what changes should be done for high side sensing. I have Lm358 & 0.1ohm 5% resistor.
@@vishnu7794 I would say you can measure about 10mA with your 0.1ohm shunt. It all depends upon the gain factor. High side measurement is not possible in this setup
@@UtsavShah_25 oh okay .
it measuring AC ? or DC ?
Measuring DC

Yes
