- Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana takes over as the new Armed Forces Chief of Staff in a ceremony simplified due to COVID restrictions. It was personally presided over by their Commander-in-Chief President Rodrigo Duterte.

Just asking. Why, mostly among those given position in the AFP or civilian high ranking positions are pma graduates. Unlike in the United States of America it doesn't matter whether you are USMA , USAFA , USNA, ROTC or Phd. Like 5 Star Gen. George Marshall a commanding general of the US Army during WW2 and former Secretary of State..4 Star Gen. Colin Powell ROTC former Commanding General of Desert Storm, Secretary of State and Chairman Joint Chief of Staff.. Lieutenant Gen. Soriano ROTC Fil-Am. Major Gen. Taguba ROTC Fil-Am. Sec of Defence Rumsfeld Navy Res. Sec. Cheney. Sec. Panetta Retired Vet ROTC Army Capt . Sec. Robert Gates ROTC Lieutenant. Sec. Chuck Hagel Vet Army Sergeant Retired. and many more..Jan lang sa pinas ang big deal. In america they don't care who you are, as long you can perform your duty/job..
