Heyo 🤗 I got Lyme too (bullseye) a few years back and it did make my health issues so much worse (the MSAD) ... For over a year straight I had a terrible illness during every period... Bc I couldn’t afford the igenx testing, I don’t know if the Lyme went away or if the terrible monthly illness and overall symptoms were caused by the MSAD response to the bite and that response just lingered a long time OR if I still have Lyme in “hiding”. A month post-bullseye I finally got antibiotics (they’d refused them in ER and the tests had come back negative~I was so sick but luckily my friend who knew about Lyme told me a bullseye is proof in itself and many Lyme tests (especially early) are false negatives. Anyway, from what I was able to find out, people with mast cell issues have very bad responses to tick bites... but the last time I researched it looked like they didn’t know if the lingering symptoms of Lyme were the Lyme HIDING and coming out in health flares or if it’s just the MSAD having worsened bc of the bite... Do you know if Lyme is still in your system? What do you think? (ps finally found out what was up with period- in an article written by a doctor about a her female patient w MCAD who got Lyme... she had the same thing I did. And again they didn’t know what part Lyme played-if it was post Lyme or active Lyme BUT they said the reactions were from the body having mast cell reactions to her own hormones during the monthly change...)
Hope you feel better soon! I don’t know if you’ve ever tried Bio-K, but I’m going through some things too (post covid from last year) and just recently remembered to order it and it’s helped so much! If you haven’t tried it, it’s worth a try! It’s pulled me out of health challenges quite a few times! For me, the ones in the bottle work best, and even though I do t eat dairy, I do for this! The 🍓 flavor is best IMO!
    That’s amazing you’re writing a book!!!! 💖 How wonderful!

I'm sorry to hear about your health struggles. I can totally empathize. Yes, I agree that a bullseye rash is definitely lyme, and yes, early testing can produce negative results. You're ahead of the game to already be aware of your MCAD though!
So, me personally, my tick borne diseases went into remission in 2016. I stopped treating them then and their symptoms did not come back. MCAS feels different too. My TBD (tick borne disease) symptoms were extremely distinctive. Prior, I had never felt symptoms like it, and post treatment I haven't felt symptoms quite like it. It was just a distinctive kind of body pain, etc.
A lot of people do have a hard time fully getting rid of their TBDs though. I had relapsed in 2015-ish so that last year+ of going back on treatment seemed to get the last of it.
My MCAS is a long story, which you can hear it all in my MCAS vlog series. You can browse all of my health topics on this page: heyoitsmayo.blogspot.com/p/all-content.html It's all categorized neatly.
I do still have flares with every period. We do believe it's a MCAS thing. We also found science to support that theory. It's like the body just attacks the hormones.
My periods have improved immensely over the years as I treated MCAS and got into remission. I do still flare most with my period or ovulation though, but I know what to do to lesson the flares. Sometimes it's unpredictable though and I do everything right and it could still be a bad period.
becauseIIendometriosis, and PCOS. My mom had those things when she was my age too, so likely it's genetic. Idk.)
Ps. Nothing has helped my hormones or periods except for MCAS treatment. I do best just leaving my hormones alone and respecting the times that I feel flared because of my hormones.
Yes, I used to do bio-k as a kid. I agree that the liquid and strawberry is best. I did well with it when I was young but stopped tolerating it in my teens. I've been lactose intolerant since my teens. The last time I had dairy I had anaphylaxis, soooo, can't do that anymore. Plus its just a no for my MCAS diet too anyway. But that's great if you're doing well with it!! So awesome to find things that work for you.
Thank you! I'm excited about my book 😊💖

It was calcium. Not sure what brand. Wasn’t pure enough and likely it was the “fillers” that took me out. I shared more about what happened in the initial flare back in my January health update. (Which is linked in the description)
