@@Sir_Isaac_Newton_ always aim to improve based on what you want for yourself. Don't compare yourself to other people. Set lots of small goals rather than one or two massive impossible goals. If you constantly aim for something out of your reach then you'll never get a feeling of achievement because you'll feel you aren't getting anywhere, because you aren't compared to the unrealistic goal you set for yourself. With small goals you know what you've achieved and can look back and be proud of how far you've come.
I was watching Poobear do his thousand. Saw you start 100. Thought to myself, yeah 100 small beans. Started it up, couldn’t even get 10 lol. Good on you. It’s harder than it sounds. Great job!

Congratutlations Dave on the 100! Yeah just because it's less than the goals of the bigger SMM players, it's by no means a small feat! Everyone has their own skills and goals, and reaching them is always a fun accomplishment. I don't play SMM2, I don't have a switch, and have been watching SMM/2 content for years now (started with Ryukahr and spread out to various). Great job, and yeah, being the best version of yourself is a good goal to have. You have to accept you are you, but you can always strive to find enjoyment in being the best version of you. Thanks for the years and keep going!

Honestly, 100 to 1000 seems like a huge difference and i don't want to downplay the achievement of 1000, BUT once your skill is high enough to break even or go positive on lives on average in Expert, you will reach 1000, 10 000 or even 1 000 000 assuming you invest enough time. And getting 100 required you to be at least very close to that skill level, if not above. Anyways congrats and i hope you keep on pushing yourself to be the best you can be.

I always assume that levels like what's at 1:32 are in expert because people spend time grinding out world records, and it annihilates the pass rate (resetting if you bonk, for example)

This makes me strive to beat my 19 on Expert. I fell out of Mario Maker because the tech skills in levels are incredulously stupid, but it is still fun sparingly for no reason.

Same. I don't even have a Wii U or Switch but I really enjoy watching SMM for some reason.
I never wanted Mario Maker, then I found DGR and ended up buying the game last year because of Dave.
Mario Maker 2 gets boring after like a few days, I have no idea how DGR is still playing it
