@@Damsel_In_Distress_528 I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for sharing your incredible content. At first, I thought you were just posting piano videos on TH-cam amazing in itself but realizing you’re the creative force behind it all just left me speechless. It’s clear how much passion and effort you pour into everything, and it really shows. I can’t help but be curious about your journey, so here are a few questions I’d love to know the answers to: When did you start learning piano? How long does it take to reach such a high level of skill? Who or where did you learn from? Wishing you a Merry Christmas filled with joy and music! I’m truly looking forward to hearing your story.
@@darunehilmes9469 Awe, you're so sweet. Thank you for showing interest. *Q. 1:* I started learning to play the piano when I was 12, which would have been in 2014. You can do the math to deduce my age should it be of interest to you. *Q. 3:* Initially, I was self-taught, but in the coming years, I began taking beginner piano lessons at a small local music school. By this time, I was 13 turning 14. The year was 2016 when I started taking piano lessons. I trained with a beginner piano teacher [the music school director] at this newly founded music school for about half a year before I advanced to taking lessons from a more adept pianist who was more Jazz-focused. I studied under him for about two years. (2017 - 2019 / 15 - 17 years old | Intermediate Level) While I was a student at the music school, I also got my first job there as a secretary/receptionist shortly after I turned 16. After working there for a year, my family and I moved to a new State. This was where and when I began taking professional piano lessons from a classically trained piano instructor. From the beginning, I always wanted to be a classical pianist, but with my previous teachers, I hardly had the chance to learn classical music because they weren’t classical-focused. With my new teacher, we focused solely on classical music. I studied under her for one year [2019 - 2020] and have since taught myself. It’s worth noting that before I started taking piano lessons I had prior knowledge of music theory because I was a percussionist in my school’s orchestra, so I already knew how to read sheet music. If you’re curious: I played Marimba, Xylophone, Glockenspiel, Vibraphone, and a couple of other instruments of similar focus. *Q. 2:* The highest level I can currently play at is a grade 10 and it has taken me roughly nine years to get to where I am now. *“How long does it take to reach such a high level of skill?”* It varies, but to go from complete beginner to the level I can play at, which is definitely not the highest, I would say it would take maybe five to seven years with the proper training, but I’m sure it varies from person to person. If you’re passionate, patient, and persistent, then learning to play the piano will come easier. Thank you again for showing interest in my life. I apologize for the long response; I didn’t anticipate it to be so lengthy. I practically wrote an autobiography. haha
@@Damsel_In_Distress_528 Wow, I honestly don’t even know where to start, your comment completely made my day. Thank you so much for sharing your story in such detail; it painted such a vivid picture of your journey, and I’m in awe of everything you’ve accomplished. Starting piano at 12, teaching yourself, and gradually working with teachers who shaped your growth it’s amazing to see how much determination and passion you’ve poured into your craft. Your advice about patience, persistence, and passion really resonates, it makes me appreciate the effort behind every piece you play even more. Also, after doing the math, I realized we’re the same age! So, thank you for the unexpected math refresh, it was a fun little realization. Please don’t apologize for the length of your message; it was a gift! Reading about your journey was inspiring, and it made me admire your work even more. Now I’m even more excited to see what you’ll share next I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for your new videos! Thank you for taking the time to share all of this.
