Park regulations are NOT law! Unless it is prohibited by the CAA it is not illegal, because that is the only way that pilots can get notification that there is a restricted flight zone. No matter who it is, just imposing your own RFZ tells pilots nothing. You have to arrange any RFZ through the CAA so they can add it to their database and pilots get notifications in their apps.
@moby1388 by laws are not law and cannot contradict a law ..the CAA regs are law ...a council in Essex posted a by law restricting model aircraft in a park it was deemed to be unlawful when tested ..
i've asked before online, but the comment often gets eaten up in all the other comments, but: is the drone assist site the 'bible' for drone flying. if its ok on there, is that the 'god', or does anything overrule that? Also is there a limit to the amount of drones that can fly over areas. For instance, if 10 droners turn up, are they all allowed to fly at the same time? Do the drones have built in 'non crash into each other' bits?
The drone footage with an history of the places you share would be wonderful, even just with subtitle references to look up ourselves. Beautiful cinematography 🎥 🪶
Why would anyone complain about a video that promotes the beautiful building, the drone footage is so much better than what anyone can see from ground level, unreal.
Thank you for taking me to see these wonderful places, at my age I would not be able physically visit. Your videos are so informative. Why would they not want these places to be seen
They are a public right of way, but that does not mean they are publicly owned and most aren't. They permit persons to make their way (travel) by foot, horseback, or on a ‘pedal cycle’ (at the moment electric bikes are still classed as pedal cycles but scooters might be a grey area) but do not necessarily convey any other rights and the land owner can place any reasonable restrictions they choose that do not prevent the permitted activities. Of course, if they do not advertise any such restrictions then they cannot expect you to abide by them unless or until someone approaches you and informs you of them.
No. That cop talking about "test cases" was talking absolute gibberish. It's written already in law. Hard. It's nothing to do with "test cases" he's absolutely talking gibberish.
What could be made a test case is the unreasonableness of the no drone rule. Lack of signage and hard to find byelaws make it unreasonable. And when a rule is unreasonable it is unenforceable. So the rule could be ignored leading to a court case. The park would then have to explain why it is necessary and they can't use subjective reasons. Any objective reasons can be easily countered by the safety of drones. The only thing that the park could use is the enjoyment of the park by others, but a drone high up can't affect others. Low down and zipping around can do. But that is covered by other byelaws, so a anti-drone rule is not necessary.
Your videos are so beautiful if the park was smart they would take your flight video and upload it in their reception room. It shows just how beautiful the grounds are.
This video brought me loads of memories of my childhood. I grew up in nearby Lewisham, and my buddies and I used to wreak havoc in Greenwich Park on our bikes (late 70's/ early 80's)
The standard of the drone footage on every video is outstanding, they should be grateful on how you show them and offering kudos...top work as always mate
I love your drone footage, it’s always excellent. I no longer watch the parts where you interact either staff I find it pointless as it is just a conversation for confrontation. However I did watch it with the Police today which made me chuckle. Great footage mate.
Have a similar issue here the New Forest. The New Forest authority claim that you can’t fly above crown land. As far as I can tell the bye laws simply states you cannot launch out land. I would like to see their claims tested in law.
i like this approach. By seeking permission to launch on site it gives the interaction purpose over and above just seeking a reaction which on its own could be seen as inciteful or harassment, albeit unlikely. point 2, A constable telling you you cant launch on site could be seen as an infringement of humans rights, specifically freedom of expression, since the purpose is photography which is not prohibited in conventional form.
And to think it was only 40 years ago it needed a helicopter to get this type of quality filming done ? And even the BBC would a full production team to equal this brilliant video ! I swear it took my breath away at one point . Lets remain positive and forget they 15 minute of fame Andy Warhol Mugs
The officers are wrong. Under English Law, anything which isn't specifically forbidden is permitted. So although model aircraft, etc are forbidden, there is no specific reference to drones within the law, therefore they are permitted.
How is that even constitutional, whereby that just being told by a policeman is the law! Surely their directives have to have a specific law as a reference.
They will always tell you it part of the park as its within the park area. There is an app which you can use which shows all footpaths within the area you are.
20:33 so you read out the page & then preceded to lie to the guy saying you haven’t seen any signs. To be fair the No Drones sign is very small but you did see it & even pointed it out 10:38 😂
0:38 I won’t tell you again, it’s the NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM in the foreground and behind it is the old Royal Naval College, now a campus of the University of Greenwich (Formerly known as Woolwich Polytechnic)
The building at 53:25 is Queens House commissioned by Queen Anne in 1616. I was invited once to a corporate party there and we had Dynamo the Magician doing tricks for us, just before he become well known- video on my TH-cam, was great! That was 14 years ago.
PC gesticulator, if I had it here I would show you, what a Mr. know it all, he thinks Dan is a real rube, 50 meters, does he exaggerate like this when dealing with the public all of the time ? Good thing these jokers are not armed !
When you make a comment like that you are going to lose the case. Simple. The CPS are so backlogged the idea of trying to make new case law is bizarre.
Did you know that the famous line of zero meridian is not in the correct place? It was put in before it was able to precisely locate it. The actual line is in the park area. Given that I believe that you now have to pay to get into the area to stride it, it seems to be a technical con.
Another great video you are most certainly a professional, I thoroughly enjoy all your videos. I went to the Royal observatory as a kid and didn’t realise how great it is, especially from above.

Police need to be reminded rules are not laws

Watch out for bylaws.
@@moby1388 Bylaws don't supersede CAA legislation once an aircraft leaves the ground it is CAA law no one else.

If you break park( owned by the crown) regulations, you can be arrested. Which is why he left to park property to fly the second time.
The drone footage with an history of the places you share would be wonderful, even just with subtitle references to look up ourselves. Beautiful cinematography 🎥 🪶
I love (not really) the 'What I think the law is trumps any concrete evidence you show me' mentality so many people have. Pure obstinance.
Why would anyone complain about a video that promotes the beautiful building, the drone footage is so much better than what anyone can see from ground level, unreal.
Credit where it is due the coppers were pretty decent and not the usual ego driven, bullying tyrants we get used to seeing in videos
Thank you for taking me to see these wonderful places, at my age I would not be able physically visit. Your videos are so informative. Why would they not want these places to be seen
Good police for a change. Great drone footage as usual. Thank you.
Police seem pretty cool to me
A couple of really decent policemen.
The Royal Observatory is there for watching things in the sky, not preventing them from flying.
nice one Dan nice coppers for a change👍👍👍👍
Bridle paths are public rights of way, and it’s what it says it belongs to the public, regardless of who maintains them.

They just say not allowed,in the hope that amateur flyers will give up and go away. Not like the pro's who know their rights
What’s with the drones in New Jersey send baldy over to sort it out 😂👍
This video brought me loads of memories of my childhood. I grew up in nearby Lewisham, and my buddies and I used to wreak havoc in Greenwich Park on our bikes (late 70's/ early 80's)

Those cops where brilliant, well done guys👏👏👏
Stunning drone footage! Worth every minute of hassle to get it up and going.

What a melt! He loves the sound of his own voice.

Point 2 💯% agree 👍🙏
How nice to have a couple of coppers who know the law, and know that it can only be a court that can interpret the nuances.
You should always bet them 10 quid that you come out on top, brilliant
When are they going to get that their rules mean sod all when it comes to the law.
A COUPLE OF ALRIGHT GUYS IN THE END. OTHERS NEED TO WORK LIKE THEM.
Great stuff mate
Good stuff
Ok😢
Watched you all the way through..leaps n bounds..latest drone footage/music to go with theme..gets better and better..keep it going !
Exceptionally dimwitted. "test case to see whether you're breaching the thing that isn't being breached - explicitly - in law"
now im really bored
Great report. You get the feeling the Royal Observatory don't want to observed!

Bumbling and falling over their words. Shocking to try enforce something they have no knowledge on
I don’t know about test case, but they are nut cases 😂😂
The training maual for police and security is very basic these days. It just contains two words ..."NOT ALLOWED". Makes it easy to train anyone!
A test case isn't needed. Skyview and General vs Bernstein is the case law.
That's the one, property rights only extend to a height reasonable for their reasonable enjoyment
It's the 2 way dialogue that makes you worth watching, however your drone footage is also artistic & impressive.
People love to dictate what others can or can't do regustdless of what the laws say. They always seem to think they control the airspace.
Of course the drones are allowed
The officers are wrong. Under English Law, anything which isn't specifically forbidden is permitted. So although model aircraft, etc are forbidden, there is no specific reference to drones within the law, therefore they are permitted.
CAA Includes drones in their definition of model aircraft. "GM1 Article 16 Definition of a Model Aircraft"
How is that even constitutional, whereby that just being told by a policeman is the law! Surely their directives have to have a specific law as a reference.
Beautifully observed ❤
As always really awesome drone footage, just a shame it was cloudy weather,
The LAW trumps (Regulations) they are talking bollocks…👍🙏
the CAA still has control of the airspace end of
Once you found the legislation you should have immediately launched as you had not been told by police it’s not allowed.
Fairly sure they know who you are😃
New Jersey is unnerving people in the UK at the moment, when they see drones above their property.
Drone rules will change very soon for the worse.
My favourite statue in the whole of London is at the observatory of Yuri Gagarin.
The duos rehearsed story fell apart when questions are asked 😂😂😂😂😂😂 welcome to the internet. Numptys.

Coppers seem OK. Dan.
“ keep it within 50 metres” totally ignorant!

too soft by a bit.

At 52 10 when you show the poster Bottom Right hand corner No Drone Flying Permitted. (on the grey section )
52:10
0:38 I won’t tell you again, it’s the NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM in the foreground and behind it is the old Royal Naval College, now a campus of the University of Greenwich (Formerly known as Woolwich Polytechnic)
Then don't and get over yourself Captain Mainwaring 😂
Calm down calm down 😂
Break the rules, at your own risk.

I think the footage came out amazing with all the fog!
These videos are becoming boring
What piece of music is Dan using here to accompany his aerial footage?
Ask the security guy to say its rerrreressstricted 😳🤣
That officer was desperately trying to stop the officer with the ginger beard from talking about things he didn't have a full understanding of!
PC gesticulator, if I had it here I would show you, what a Mr. know it all, he thinks Dan is a real rube, 50 meters, does he exaggerate like this when dealing with the public all of the time ? Good thing these jokers are not armed !
That was amazing footage.
The Observatory is a really interesting place if you didn't visit while there. The story of John Harrison is worth looking up!
I grew up near that park and they were always as awkward as they could possibly be about everything
When you make a comment like that you are going to lose the case. Simple. The CPS are so backlogged the idea of trying to make new case law is bizarre.
Another great audit loved the drone flight.
Amazing footage

Is line of sight increased if you have binoculars?
No visual aids are allowed. It’s better to get some really strong strobe lights, that are also very light.
@DMC888 how???? That would take the drone to over 249grms
Another great video you are most certainly a professional, I thoroughly enjoy all your videos. I went to the Royal observatory as a kid and didn’t realise how great it is, especially from above.
Cops were quite chilled out, why cant the rest be like them.
I am fairly certain Royal Park police were disbanded and merged some years ago
The police officers actually have an easy going style, often it is a combative and confrontational officer that arrives…
Is that the crystal maze music during the drone flight
Test case is a bit silly, the air space control is well established and the on site policy is also well established. There is nothing to test.
The law is a too serious issue for law officers to turn up and not know it.

This only applies while IN THE PARK.
@@Leepercommpersonally I don't care but he was "in the park" for the first flight
Has anyone ever explained what the difference is between law and rules.
A bridal way is a public thoroughfare. Nothing to do with the owner of the land. Public footpaths are the same.
are we there yet
Permission in advance 😂
can you just show us flying footage not all that arguing crap that you post
That’s my favourite part 😂
"Metage"? Ha ha.
KEIR STARMER in orange reflectors and working as a security guard.
😂😂
Why are the cops getting involved in a civil matter?
if you'd pay me, i would not live in the UK, the weather is so depressing !
It is December, what do you expect? At least we rarely get extremes, with a risk to life.
