I knew you guys would appreciate this episode.I love that you enjoy the “character development” or backstory episodes. And also the ones that just follow 2 character’s. Some call them fillers but this episode is definitely an example of why they are important and are actually awesome episodes to watch! I just wish Eastman had survived 😢
One of the best story driven episodes this show has ever produced Lennie James is one of the best actors on the show and the backstory as to what happened to Morgan in between the time he has been gone was damn near perfectly written Mix all of that together and you have the masterpiece that this episode is

First she said they couldn’t be out there just surviving and running, then she convinced Rick to go to Washington, then convinced him to give Alexandria a chance and finally when she said “somethings going to happen, but don’t make something happen” when Rick wanted to take over Alexandria. If it wasn’t for her Rick would be screwed. Rick leads the group, but Michonne led Rick.
8:45, I'm watching this along with you and I don't think that there is a trip planned, when a person is mentally drained and thinking about ending it, you need to get them to think on something else to keep their mind occupied, so Eastman only told him to keep his mind off self termination.
The actor who plays Eastman is John Carroll Lynch he is super talented he has also appeared in a few movies like Crazy stupid love Zodiac Fargo and a few seasons of American Horror Story really loved seeing him on TWD he did a great job doing the role of Eastman.
Me personally I love this episode. The music at the end brings a tear to my eye because it conveys the feeling of a man who’s been insane and now found peace.
And I feel like that the reason he told the Wolf his story is because he feels that the way things worked out for him can work out for the Wolf and that he can get through to him.
I think Morgan kind of saw some of his old self in the Wolf guy tbh He looks up at him when the guy says he’s going to have to kill everyone there Morgan used to do the same thing and just killed anyone he came across but he came back from it I think that’s ultimately why he keeps him alive despite those words Morgan was defiantly really far gone before so I don’t think even the brutality of the Wolves attack made him believe people can’t change He wasn’t excited to kill people no but he did run up to people just like they did at Alexandria and killed innocent people for no reason other than having to clear Another one of those guys also told Morgan we didn’t choose when Morgan told him if you keep choosing this life Morgan also didn’t choose to become like he did and yet he was able to come back from it Of course it’s dangerous to have a guy like that still alive but Morgan was dangerous before too I think it’s actually a pretty interesting situation because we look at the Wolves and say how brutal they are but then we have one of our guys here who has been in a similar situation yet we root for him Even in Season 3 his fans hope to see him come back to being who he was before That feels kinda like what Morgan wants to see from people too. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like this is why they placed the episode here instead of earlier or later.
I particularly love this episode because it allows us to understand where Morgan's morals are coming from, but at the same time, we know it's not a good idea.
As an audience we really needed an episode like this to recover from the fast paced intensity of Then last three The captured Wolf is Owen I think Morgan’s attempt at rehabilitating someone as seemingly foregone as Owen isn’t just testing Eastman’s philosophy but also whether or not humanity can come back.
I love when Rick says Carol is a force, that he's proud of her! She's come such a long way and him agreeing with what she did to Karen and David says a lot. He banished her and now agrees with her, would've done it himself
These types of episodes are so important to develop the characters and show the humanity in the show Different characters didn’t have things that anchor them down so they aren’t lost in this new world From this episode we get to see Morgan come back from being lost and seeing what is now anchoring him and his humanity.
Morgan brings a different element to the group. Between his philosophy and Rick's philosophy it really makes me question things because I can see both sides. I like that about this show.

VERY underrated episode. Not sure why people thought it sucked. Really explained why Morgan is the way he is now. Lennie James killed it, as usual.
Its cause of the pacing. They put a flashback episode right after Glenn's "death". People wanted to find out if Glenn was dead or not.

Many don't like this episode very much, but I really like it, it shows very well how aikido saved Morgan from his madness
The first three episodes of this Season were so fast paced that this one came as a breath of fresh air.
