You should be able to just replace the head of the tripod

I got it a few years ago for a fiver from a carboot so going to treat myself to an upgrade. Let me know if you've got any recommendations

​​@@georgecuckooaah, you have probably had your money's worth out of it then. Not sure on recommendations but what I can say is that I have a tripod, a Velbon, that I bought about 40 years ago and it still works but could do with a new head, so my only advice would be buy the best quality you can that does the job you need. Good luck.
