Her extensive background includes eight years in higher education Student Affairs, where she championed programs supporting students with disabilities and spearheaded university change management initiatives focused on organizational culture, diversity, equity, inclusion, and workplace effectiveness. Her expertise and dedication have led to significant improvements in the organizations she has participated in, demonstrating the power of her influence.
With a decade of experience in the non-profit and county agency sectors as a mental health clinician, Dr. Iyamba has dedicated her career to providing direct care and impactful programming. Her commitment to community engagement is evident through her active involvement with the Urban League Young Professionals, where she has served for five years and currently holds the position of Secretary for the Greater Phoenix chapter.
In addition to her professional and community roles, Dr. Iyamba is an elected official serving as a Precinct Committee member and contributing to the Maricopa County Black Engagement Committee. In this role, she focuses on voter registration and the election of individuals aligned with her party's values, significantly impacting the county's political landscape.
