I recruited him in Golden Deer route and freaked out when he disappeared from my roster after the time skip. It hurt having to face him in battle, but at least it gave me the option to re-recruit him...
Elvis Lau literally the same hung happened to me. I panicked so much when I saw Ashe as an enemy. I had recruited him already but then he was gone. I thought I was going to have to kill him!

I always liked how Claude isn’t proud of having to kill old classmates to get the keys to the throne.
Same for edelgard, same for dimitri. No one likes to do this.
Pop Khorne dimitri doesn’t care. He doesn’t even acknowledge one of his child hood friends dying. Claude meanwhile has specific sad dialogue for killing Petra.

He shows more regret and remorse at her and the other Blue Lions' deaths on Crimson Flower, where he's ironically more sane and stable due to not losing his kingdom and having the Church's support.

The tragic reality of Edelgard's route is that, while her ideals were noble, her information was wrong.
She blames the separation of the 3 nations on the church of Seiros, when the events leading to the creation of the kingdom of Faerghus were precipitated by the Agarthans (Pan was one of them and Loog's top general). She claims that the church has been manipulating history to control Fodlan, while true to an extent, it was more about hiding the information about how Crests and Hero's Relics were created so people wouldn't butcher each other for power (Agarthan blood experiments).
While Edelgard eventually exterminates the Agarthans, her actions are the result of their manipulations. And all of this could've been avoided if she and Rhea had just sat down to talk.
Basically: It was the Agarthans, Austin! It was them ALL along!

Mictlan people say Silver Snow is just a Claude-less copy of Verdant Wind, but it just seems they were developed parallel to each other, or alternatively, Verdant Wind was based on Silver Snow
@@millrose6250 yea i think blue lions was first, then golden deer, then black eagles. Both of the black eagle routes were obviously rushed. Claude's motivations just happened to be so grand that silver snow could copy most of it.
Mictlan its weird to think itd be rushed considering 75 percent of levels are pretty much the same
i don't really agree with you, in silver snow you defeat both edelgard and those who slither in the dark AND angry rhea so i think it's the most complete imo
@@meterothecrow6270 I don't know. Claude's motivations really have nothing to do with VW's plot. If he didn't talk about his goals I wouldn't think that VW was about ending discrimination. Completely sidesteps the Alliance's inner turmoil and Almyra is unimportant like in any other route. SS/VW feel like they took a basic plot and slapped different characters on it considering how interchangable Claude and Seteth basically are
The way Sylvain says he needs you to give up quietly... I can't helo but always think about how softly he says it. It truly sounds like he doesn't want to kill you, so he tries to comfort you before. God I've fallen for him.

If she keeps being part of the Empire, she becomes a puppet to Edelgard's strings, believing that being subservient to the Empire would result in a better Brigid... its really sad to watch.
Luckily, I had recruited her in my first VW playthrough, and she actually opened the door she was guarding here, leading the siege against Edelrgard. It was awesome, especially when I married her and she became Queen of Fódlan

I've always wondered why Mercedes is showned to be a apart of the "main group" in the Blue Lions. In the mock battle and mostly every other battle she is always by Dimitri's side. Weird, shouldn't it be more like Dimitri's childhood friends like Ingrid?
It's about balance. Black Eagles has 2 long range (Dorothea and Hubert) and 2 close range (Ferdinand and Edelgard), Blue Lions has 2 long range (Mercedes and Ashe) and 2 close range (Dimitri and Dedue) and Golden Deer has 2 long range (Ignatz and Claude) and 2 close range (Hilda and Lorenz).

I find it sadder when you’ve recruited a character but are forced to fight them, because you get the option to kill and if you do, they say their death quote and then fade

Church and Knights are considered same category. HaE means that unit dies in the Battle of Grounder, the chapter that is known as Between Heaven and Earth.
