Your writing in this has all the making of the prologue of an epic sci-fi story. I loved how you built up the worldbuilding from the ground floor (pun intended, definitely), and it's full of little details. I really got curious about exploring the landfills but also the higher levels ^^ Plus your accent is just lovely! you nailed the mix between mysterious stranger, jaded worker, and overall a friendly person. I don't know what your plans are for this story, and don't pretend to just tell you what to do, but I think a series, or at least more stories from this world would be amazing!
